  1. Hi, I'm only 19 days post op (full bypass) but I have not experienced dumping at all. I eat really slow, make all my food so I know there is very little to no fat or sugar and I only eat 1/4 cup each sitting. I recommend the full bypass for all the reasons you mentioned. Don't let the fear control you!!

    Day 4

It does...little by little, everyday gets better! The more active you are, the faster you will feel better. Just a short walk 3 times a day will help you tremendously! Then when you start soft foods, take a short walk after each "meal", that helps a ton too! Good luck!
  3. Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon! I had very low energy at first too because I was sleeping all the time, therefore I got dehydrated. I was so confused, am I supposed to sleep and rest or am I supposed to stay awake so I can sip enough water throughout the day so I don't become dehydrated and feel like crap! Once I started to get enough water in me, my energy went way up! Good luck!!
  4. I was worried about that too but you won't gain anything. I'm 19 days post op and I'm down 23 pounds. I don't eat more than 1/4 cup at a time. My main focus is drinking enough fluids!
  5. I had gastric bypass surgery 19 days ago and all was going great until today! I woke up with pulsating sharp pains in my lower left side under my ribs but above my hip bone. It's not a blockage, I'm still able to pass gas, which is a relief! The only things I did different in the last 2 days was start to take the meds that prevent gallstones and I started to take the calcium chewable as well. It could be a side effect of one of those or maybe just constipation. Anyone else experiencing this?
