  1. Great question. I got my surgery on July 24- prior I would generally get my period every few months as a probable side effect of being overweight and in my late 30s- but post surgery it has come every 28-30 days on the dot. I was also told surgery increases fertility and my regularity seems to point towards this being the case for me

  2. Enaking - I will look for the link and post it here.
As for chewables for life - not for me. i know all the programs are different, and many people might tolerate things differently so it's not one size fits all, I believe for some it's an absorption issue . Some programs make you buy Vitamins that give them a kick back too. Others might just be behind in research or policy. Things change quickly over the years.

  3. My husband has been so helpful as well- we talked about what I can and can't eat so he has been able to pick things up for me but also (nicely) call me out if I'm tempted to cheat [emoji4] the biggest help for me though is that he is pretty much eating what I am - I would never have asked him for this - but it is nice to not have too much in the house I can't eat or is bad for me. He is a great cook and has been testing bariatric recipes and enjoying them! I don't think he meant to give up carbs totally but since we haven't been buying them he has just adjusted. At least while he's at home. So I really think that support has helped a lot. We always cooked and had dinner together and I was afraid I would lose that time together each night.

  4. I've been stuck for weeks. WEEKS! I got so tired of seeing the exact same weight, the exact same weight down to the ounce that I almost broke. Then, in a last ditch effort, I met with my nutritionist who advised me to lay off the artificial sweeteners and drink plain Water instead of Crystal Light and Propel. And, voila!!! I broke from the stall and lost 3 lbs in 2 days.
Damn it!! 4 weeks. 4 long frustrating weeks of seeing the exact same weight to the ounce, and it was something so simple. I knew before my surgery that artificial sweeteners sometimes made me keep on weight, at my age, but I guess I thought, post surgery, it wouldn't be such an issue. Well, I was dead wrong.
The only problem? I hate plain water. I HATE IT. Crystal Light made it tolerable. I'm hoping that once I get over the stall I can add some back into my routine, but for now... NOPE.
    Le sigh.

What about throwing some slices of lemon or lime into water?

  5. I'm really looking forward to soft foods bc the "sweetness" of all the yogurts/cottage cheese/pudding is killing me. I'm adding cream Soups too but really can't wait to venture out. Anyone else feeling like the healing spirit s better than expected? Or am I fooling myself? Also wondering what the deal with coffee is- I went back to work yesterday as I only sit at my job and I have no pain - but I was definitely tired and would've loved a small black coffee. Have to wait until Friday to ask my docs.
