    Onederland....
It's been a few years since I saw the scale tip below 200, I woke up Monday and checked my weight and was excited to see it under 200 (199.8) I didn't really count the weight as I had just come off of being sick for 5 days and barely eating. My appetite has since returned, so much so I hate to admit I was terrible on Tuesday. Had a carb overload day (sort of) - I had about 3oz of angel hair pasta with grilled veggies, baked sweet potato with sour cream and butter and even had dessert (Madeleines). I felt horribly guilty at the end of the day, but my body was craving something other than animal protein.  Woke up this morning prepared to see the scale back over 200 and to my surprise, it was 198.8. I'm only 0.8lbs from my first goal, hoping I can hold steady and drop that lb before my body stalls again.
Having this surgery has been one of my best decisions, sometimes I feel like I've cheated and took the easy way out, but deep down I know that medically supervised weight loss,  countless diets, weight loss drugs and many medical conditions couldn't  help me lose the weight. Since Surgery, I'm down 37 lbs and off my BP meds, no longer take anti-depressants, no more PPIs. I'll have my first series of blood-work drawn in about two weeks, hoping that I can lose at least one more pill...

Alright. No more adulting. Burned my nose, broke my espresso maker (officially), stubbed my toe, and cracked my phone screen all before 8am.
    Going back to bed.

OK, surgery's done (Weds), I'm home, and I'm trying to tough it out with just Tylenol in the daytime, because the oxycodone makes me too tired to function. I might take it before bed, just to give my liver a break from Tylenol each day.
I'm taking the anti-nausea pills preventatively. I'll want to go off them as soon as possible, but the patch they put on is only good for three days. This is day three. I'd like to avoid forcing my new stomach and the nicely sewn up hernia to send things backwards, if at all possible.

I'm doing small loops around parts of the house and using the spirometer often. Just trying to heal up, you know. Coughing hurts, but that's to be expected. So far, Jello is the main thing my stomach seems willing to accept, though I've had a little luck with black tea, too.

It took all of the courage in my soul, but I did manage to give myself the shot of blood thinner in my stomach. Blood clots are serious business.

Had a wedding in Reno this last week but managed to have a good time anyway (lol)
My numbness that i thought was a pulled muscle was a rare but not unheard of side effect of rapid weight loss. It is a pinched nerve probably caused by the loss of fat around the nerve that allowed the nerve bundle to shift.
weight has been steady and holding within half a pound these last weeks so it looks like i have the correct calories dialed in for maintenance.
I can still do my treadmill time but weight lifting is off the table for now. So more lower body work and hopefully the pinched nerve will resolve with the stretching and time.
Got Scottish games to go to this weekend so looking forward to a fun if long day.
Wore a Suit for the first time in 20 years, can't say i enjoyed it but i survived the tie.

I got the word yesterday from my surgeon my CT scan of my liver shows no damage and I am negative for portal hypertension. He said if I had portal hypertension that he would not operate on me. So, I'm in! Onward and upward! I'm down 30 pounds as of today and I'm 29 days out from surgery. This is a great day!

I've noticed that another bad behavior has crept back into my life. I've started not giving a full half hour between food and drink. Today I put the kibosh on that. It's back to waiting the appropriate amount of time. On the other hand, I've been really good about getting a minimum of 64oz of liquid in per day. Often, I am above the minimum. Post-op food lifestyle is a constant balancing act and the trick is catching things when they start to go out of balance.

Good morning, everyone. I know I've been gone for a bit but I am doing so much better now. It seems as if I am healing right up. The nausea is completely gone and the only time I get an upset stomach is if I eat too quickly. Alas, this is still something of a learning curve. On the upshot, I am ready to return to work and I am going back to tractor trailer driving because it's the best path to make a decent living given my skill set. On July 3rd, I will be starting for Schneider. It's been a few years since I've been behind the wheel of such a big vehicle so I chose the free training (and I don't have to sign an agreement either) offered by Schneider. The particular driving that I got hired for is all Mid-West lanes dedicated to Home Depot so there is no East Coast and no West Coast. In fact, just four states ... CO, NE, MO, and KS. The job is 3 weeks on/1 week off and they fly me between my home in Philadelphia and Kansas City. All in all not a bad deal.

Some of my surgery incisions are infected (I was told I was at increased risk for infection since I'm diabetic). I got to the doctor in the early stages so its nothing major, but I'm waiting on the cultures to find out which antibiotic is most appropriate to treat the infection. I should hear from the doc's office tomorrow. In the meantime, I have no desire to eat (surgery was two weeks ago) and find myself preferring to drink my protein. Is that normal?

I just saw my oncologist this morning (I had stage 2A breast cancer) and my CBC labs are now showing I am anemic. I have fought this before on and off caused from the chemo/radiation, however, I wonder how much of this is now related to the sleeve? Oncologist didn't want me to change any of my vitamins/meds so I am going to lob a call to the surgeon. I am not looking to increase my iron because it really messes up my bathroom stops. The good news is my oncologist was really proud of my accomplishments so far with my WL. I love positive feedback! He told me that there are 11 cancers that are directly linked to obesity. It was this doctor that made me go from thinking about WLS to having my WLS. I am doing this for me.

Went shopping yesterday and feel very good about what I bought: as I'm currently living in a motel and started with only a microwave for cooking, I'm now in possession of a toaster-oven, an electric kettle, and a crock pot. (Do not tell the management . . . ) Tomorrow I'm very excited: going to make beef stew in the crock pot. Most of the food I bought was good, too: deli chicken and ham, some mashed cauliflower,  a pineapple to go with my beloved cottage cheese . . . what I haven't bought, but might next trip, is a scale. Of course, I have a fine scale in my storage locker (just like I have a crock pot and an electric kettle in there, too), but getting there and finding those things? Not happening. Maybe I'll get an apartment soon, maybe it'll be a while . . . whatever happens, happens. But at least I feel a bit better able to eat correctly now, so that's something. The clock is ticking on my "honeymoon" period . . .

Yesterday I was a year post-op sleeve. I had my appt too. Doc wasn’t too happy...only because I let old habits slide back in. These darn emotions!! But even being an emotional eater, I cannot use it as an excuse. So, starting today, I have to start journaling my eating to stay accountable and show it to him in three months. Now, on a good note, I am just 5 lbs from the docs goal. About 20 from mine. Totally doable. I’m not complaining...I’m down over 80 lbs from my highest weight. Let me find some pics to post.....first, got to get my child to school! Be back....

15 May, 5 months post bypass. I am now just 7 or 8 lbs off “normal bmi”.  People telling me to stop is a daily thing, but kindly.  I have run out of clothes in storage so haven’t been this weight for ... 20 years, probably 30.  I got travellers tummy in China last week, had to cancel flights and lost 6lbs in 4 days, which really shows. Funny, I could have just done that 10 times in a row and saved $25k!!!
I think that weight must be mostly water, and some might come back on as I pick up the eating and the world stops falling out my bottom!
I know I worry too much but two things occupy me right now....
    1. How do I pick up my calories and stop losing? Cos I would like this to slow down around about now (funny. Was way TOO slow just 3 months ago!)
    2. A little bit of me is yelling “do not lift your calories. In fact pretend you still have a bad tummy even. Eat less. You can get rid of ALL those bulgy bits if you try”. Hah, I will NOT go through   Luckily, Dr and Psych next week!

Thank you @Frustr8, @Creekimp13, and @FluffyChix for all the concern and well-wishes. Here is the update. I have a stomach ulcer infected with H. Pylori. This isn't good news because it needs to get treated with a pretty serious course of antibiotics. The upshot is we know what's going on. The downside is that I am looking at 6-8 weeks of antibiotics to fight this little b*stard off. I will also need another endoscopy in a month to make certain that the course of antibiotics is working. H. Pylori is a nasty little phucker ... it has been known to cause stomach cancer according to the Mayo Clinic. It's going to take a bazooka to kill me though. LOL!
