  3. Oh man, no! I hear ya! I was pissed about it when I first found out. You know? Cuz I do honestly prefer to eat clean stuff when possible. And I was like, seriously? Sneaky bastards! LOL, so I compromised cuz I wanted it. But now days, since it's hardly worth the time to make other things like sauces and stuff that are complex, I find myself compromising on them too! Cuz, you know...why make a complex sauce just to eat 1-2tbsp of it. So I skimp and compromise on ingredients AND taste, just so I don't have to make it. So it's a slippery slope and so I had to retire my food purist hat. Now I am afraid I'm a mid-hedonist.
  4. I have a little cognitive disconnect with the Premier Protein drinks. They are the main ones that my body tolerates the best since it has both casein and whey in it. I don't have as bad of an insulin response with them. So I close my eyes and pray the DATEM stuff isn't that bad in the grand scheme of life.   7. Ode To Egg White McMuffinless Breakfast Sandwich Light fluffy pillows You captivate my senses Going down my throat! Ok by now you guys are probably tired of me harping on my mcmuffinless breakfast sammys but each time I find a new variation--I'm just smitten. They take less than 5 minutes to throw together--start to finish--including washing your hands! The egg is so tender and flavorful. It releases easily from the 4oz ramekin without a bunch of mess. It doesn't take any oil. And they beat the egg puffs you cook in the oven cuz they aren't tuff and don't stick to the pan! And they're so quick you make them to order rather than doing an elaborate concoction. Plus I know the exact composition of this precise egg bite, rather than having more ham in one or more cheese in another. And I can decide how "big" my egg is, cuz I'm just using the Real Egg Whites (HEB)--it's only egg whites, nothin' else. I've come up with some different variations to flavor the whites: 14g salsa verde 14g red salsa 14g marinara 1 tbsp Taco Bell mild sauce 1 tbsp Tostito's Spinach Dip granulated garlic, chive, parsely rosemary, granulated garlic I could go on and on for days!!! I use 75g of Egg Whites (1.5servings) Then I just cover ramekin with plastic wrap, Poke holes in the plastic with a knife, nuke it first for 30secs>>20secs>>15secs>>15secs>>10secs. Stop each time and let it sit for a second, then hit it again until done. Blot on a paper towel, split it and stuff it with what you want. Sometimes I use a wedge of lite Laughing Cow. Sometimes I use Boar's Head Lacey Swiss (lite swiss cheese low sodium), sometimes cheddar, sometimes mozzarella. You get the drift. And I usually use a low fat, low cal, low carb slice of lunchmeat. Boar's Head hickory smoked turkey is my current fave cuz it's low sodium. You can also use turkey sausage patties though. I usually put about 5g of greens. My fave is either spinach or super greens or arugula. I serve it with 3 grape tomatoes (1/2oz) and I'm done. Today I did: salsa verde egg puff with green salsa and granulated garlic, BH lacey swiss, BH hsturkey, 5g baby spinach and 3 grape tomatoes. Holy crap! It's great! Nutritionals: 110 cals; 16g protein; 3g fat; 3g carbs; 0g fiber; 1g nat sugars DEEEEEEELISSSH!!!! (sorry no piccys, it's in mah belleh!!!!)

    Thanks girlie!!! I'm trying and sure busting hump as much as I can! Totally--clean eating helps me stay focused (plus I crave that clean fresh crisp taste I get from lean proteins with raw or quick cooked veggies--and luckily I tolerate them so well) and it's making it easier than I'd thought it would ever be. You know? TY for all your help and support. It's meant a LOT!!!

    I'm kinda like you AshAsh. I just follow my program. I make most of my food homemade and love veggies, so it's lean protein first, veggies second, and a tiny bit of fat. Most of the time I choose avocado as my fat cuz I love it so much. But I also have a little EVOO and butter. Love ghee! So it just falls naturally to that keto/low carb side. But I'm not one of the modern ketoneers who go eat fat, fat, fat, fat!

    Hahahaha! Lord, I dream of having chicken legs! My sissy got the great legs in the fam. She has tiny muscular girl legs. I have the legs of an East German female shotputter. LOL. But hopefully I'm whittling them down. Yeah your calves and thighs both have great definition! Congrats on all your hard work and dedication!

    @magpie26 A VLCD is a (very low calorie diet). Typically docs refer to any diet that is <1200cals a VLCD. But I kinda think it's anything below 800cals. I had anywhere from 360-440calories per day on my pre-op liquid diet. It was a VLCD diet. It was also low carb which can also be shortened to a VLCD -- so it can be confusing.

    That wouldn't do it. Did it have sugar in it? If not, you need new batteries in your scale. 15lbs in 1 week is implausible. Especially after the 8lb loss the week before which is entirely doable if you are formerly carby and also retaining fluid. With 15lbs in the second week, you would have really had to be edemetous (lots of fluid)...which has been known to happen, but it isn't normal.

    If you cheat, and go out of ketosis, you refill glycogen stores which can carry 2 molecules of water each. It's possible to gain 2-6lbs overnight after cheating.
  15. Absolutely! LOL, I don't know if I have 1 muscle in my body even 1/4 as big as yours. ROFL! But today I'm going to my PT for 1 1/2hours and will work til I sweat using the smallest bands! *snort* But slow and steady wins the race! I would eventually be able to build some muscle though (a little girlie girl muscle).

    What kind of surgery did you have? Are you drinking while eating or failing to do the 30-30? Do you eat dense protein first? How much volume/weight are you eating at meals? Do you log what you eat? Do you snack all day? How many times are you eating? Do you drink alcohol? Are you eat a lot of carbs?

    Start counseling now. Now is the time for you. To fix yourself from the inside out. If you need him for financial security at this point in time, choose your timing. But stop feeding a dry well. Don't go to the well anymore and start emotionally detaching from him. Then leave when you're healthier and ready to fly. You may not be at that point yet. But choose your battles AND your timing.

    It's this simple. And this hard... You don't worry about the "forever" part. You only worry about the today part. A long time ago, a very wise person told me the way to success is to take small actions daily and repeat them over and over and over again each day like clockwork. LOL, I think it was Forest Gump. Lo and behold, it's now a very famous saying. ROFLMAO! You can do this.

    Yes, only I don't actually call mine keto--although it is--old school keto. I let my fat fall naturally according to what I'm eating. And I'm eating lean proteins and barely any dairy, and low fat dairy at that. I also watch how much fat I add to foods, and eat only small amounts of nuts/seeds/avocado. So I only really get about 30g of fat per day. But since it's low carb, the % of macros are way shifted. Incidentally, at first, after surgery and some while in pre-op liquids, we are all ketogenic by virtue of VLCD (very low calorie diets). You go ketogenic either through an absence of calories or absence of carbs in the diet.

  22. It was some kind of protein powder that had lots of carbs, like 51g of carbs in the powder per scoop? Then maybe she was adding some fruit to it? But I may be mixing up 2 of the people. There was one that was drinking fruit smoothies by the gallon. LOL.
