    Oh my gosh I dream of having thigh gap!!! I've got like mighty goose or turkey drumstick thighs. Skinnier toward the knees, then very thick at the top. LOL.
  2. In my world it's about 1cup of food. Which is supposed to be my theoretical volume target for life. But really I can eat about 1 1/4c of dense protein + veg. Chicken, pork, beef, turkey = 3oz by weight serving size smooshed down fills between 2/3 and 3/4cup. Fish, shrimp, shellfish = 4oz by weight serving size smooshed down is about 3/4-7/8cup. I can eat 1-2oz of veggies cooked al dente (about 1/4-1/3cup) + 1oz avocado/1oz grape tomatoes (slider food eaten at the end=1/4cup; so it's like water to me)
  3. Depends how much you smoosh it into the cup. Diced small and loosely packed, 1oz by weight = 1/4 cup volume. Swearsies. LOL. But if you try really hard, you can smoosh 3oz by weight of shredded or minced into 2/3-3/4 cup by volume. LOL. Um, don't ask how I know... Congrats on the chicken success!!!

  6. Ok, so 4oz by weight is your pouch size. So when you eat veg you eat it as a separate meal? Any idea how much salad by volume you can eat? I can eat more than you.
  7. Well it's so easy. And DELISH. Unexpectedly so--either as a frapp or as plain iced coffee. I just use leftover very strong decaff (as much or as little as you want) and then use anywhere from 1/2 to a full carton of PP Bananas and Cream and tons of ice. Yesterday I did a full PP and about 8oz of decaff and ice up to heaven. I don't add sweetener, but if you need it, then I add liquid Vitacost Vanilla Stevia. It's so delish. You can also get your fiber on with it by adding either Benefiber or adding whole psyllium husks. Makes it almost thin oatmeal texture. LOL. Yesterday, the thought of food just had me going nope. I just want liquids. And I was too busy to really stop to throw it together. So this worked. Of course, I'm back sliding into the easiness of protein drinks and they are not really my friend and can cause me to retain fluid for some weird reason. But so far today I'm ok. Down a bit from yesterday.

  9. OMG! This has been so exceptionally "Good times" this morning. I've officially laughed my ass off! Ok, I'll do my IF report then for @Orchids&Dragons before we get her fired! Yesterday was good. I made it to about 2:45pm for my first meal. I was trying to wait until after 3pm, but by 2:30 I was close to cuttin' a b***h for food. Unfortunately, being alone here, that would have been me and I draw the line at that one. So I had 3 full meals scheduled but I just looked at it and was like. Nope. Can't do it. So I ended up going for a Banana Joe from Cocomo Iced Coffee (homemade) with coffee, Prem Prot Bananas and Cream and tons o' the ice. It held up until 5:30 when I broke down and had a little leftover salmon. And then I had leftover chickie boob, veggies and avo/tom salad on a tray in my recliner in front of the tv watching Big Brother! LOL. The only photo I have is a crap one with flash taken in front of the tv. Here's my lovely l/o plate! I ate every last stankin' bite of this bad boy! Here's my food log for the DD. I was over my 500 a bit and the macros sucked, but meh. Deal. (click to enlarge) Today is an up day at an event tonight. There will be rich wine pairings and friends/fun around and I'm shuddering in my shoes. I'm gonna try to keep things low until tonight. Cuz God only knows what I'm capable of. And I just hit the 160lb mark this morning. Only 10.4lbs left to go to reach first goal. I'm sure there will be hell to pay on the scale tomorrow as a result of tonight.

    I am uncertain if there are enough glut exercises in the universe to correct my droopy saggy butt and thighs now. LOL. But hey, at least I can get said butt off the ground in a bridge now! I couldn't before. My thighs weren't long enough! BAHAHAHAAHA. Me=serious junk in the trunk (and not in a good way either)

  14. Yeeeehaaawwwww!!! Congrats on being down!!! Ok, so I've no idea if this is true or not, but I'm reading about cherries and almonds combined as a bedtime snack. That it increases fat losses. I have kinda losely done it. And um, I lose? Could you try being pre-emptive and eating a bedtime snack to see if it helps you sleep through the night?

  16. I think cold/flu season is here. I totes do. All around me at the ballgame people were coughing up lungs and sneezing. I was like...where's my bubble when I need it? PLEASE don't think that I'm saying you are eating too much!!! I'm thrilled to see you eat. I honestly am. And Yes, Yes, YES you needed those cals!!! I was just commenting on how diff our anatomies are! And yes, medium size eggs are hugely diff from large AA eggs that ave about 51-54g per egg without shell. I can eat veg all day without feeling crazy full. But nuts stop me in my tracks. Think it's the whole fat stuff and gallbladder thing going down though. I still eat them. Cuz I think I'm broken and warped. Apparently getting sick isn't enough, I need a cattle prod! LOL.

  18. Ok, so it's calculated based on surgery morning weight. And you use a chart. Or you go by this formula: Ideal Body Weight = 100lbs for the first 5' + 5lbs for every inch over 5'. So for me, a 5'4" (ish) woman IBW=100+20=120lbs EBW=Surgery Weight - Ideal Body Weight EBW=102lbs=222-120 I had 102lbs of EBW at morning of surgery day. I'm expected to lose 102lbs x 65%=66.3lbs So I'm expected lose due solely to the surgery is 222-66lbs=156lbs (click to enlarge) Height/Weight Chart Here's another graph to measure which percentile you fall into on your losses: I was in the 90th percentile.   19. I had to laugh at the "It's always an IF day for me lol." You go girlie!!! How are your feeling this morning? Hope you're feeling better! Fasting is supposed to help get over viruses easier! WTG with the gym work and with your food. Woohooo on >60g protein!!! Everything sounds so good!!! It's so weird about your volumes girl! 2 large eggs are roughly 100g by weight + about 44g peanuts=144g by weight for your meal. The chicken on the other hand was 57g + about 14g by weight = 71g by weight and you were stuffed. It is so weird that one of the foods that fills me like no other are hard boiled eggs. 2 large eggs and I'm full for hours! More so if you add peanuts, so it's doubtful I could have eaten 144g from the boiled egg and peanut meal. But I could have pounded down probably 3-4oz of your sw/sr chicken if it was sugar free + 2oz of cauli. This is such a learning experience and we are all so wonderfully made and unique!!!

    Ok, so what protein drinks are you taking in--what's the nutrition on them specifically prot, carbs, fiber, sugar alcohols, and sugars?? Are you already eating protein bars? What puree/soft foods are you eating. Give us 1-2 days sample menus please. Thanks! (I personally gained TONS of fluid in my ankles and left arm because my body doesn't tolerate an ALL-protein drink kind of diet even though my drinks were low carb. It wasn't until I was eating real meat protein and veg that I really started losing anything significant.

  24. Ok, so if I understand this, you eat about 1cup of food per meal. And you are eating this frequently cuz you are a Starvin Marvin. Right? So I'm no expert and def not a vet. I also get hungrier with exercise, and also get hungrier the more food quantity and more meals I eat. So it's a Catch22 for me. The huge question is how much food you REALLY and truly absorb. I'm not sure I actually believe the whole 50% of food is lost. I think our bodies are amazingly resilient at maintaining homeostasis. And that means that after 18month-3years, we start regrowing microvilli so that the intestines can pick up the nutrients better. I know this to be true in RNY from studies, and would presume the same for DS/SADI Loop. But dunno... The thing I would start with is to dump ALL the crap and liquid nourishment. Dump the Atkins Bar. Dump the protein drink if you are having issues with hunger. If you are hungry, you need to get dense high value protein and fat in your system in order to feel satiety. But if you have a ton of fat to lose I don't know if you need to pack it in, cuz of the calories. i'd just eat lean protein and a bit of healthy fat and see how that does. My meals would be so basic--mine ARE basic. You can go to the Intermittent Fasting thread and see them: Lean Protein (3-4oz)--limited full fat cheese Veg Salad No Cal Dressing (and use either the fat from my meat or fat from avocado to aid in absorbing fat soluble vitamins). But with your surgery, you may need to add 1 1/2 tsp of fat source to every meal. Dunno your surgical needs. I would TRY to get to a point where you can eat only every 3-4 hours and then maybe look at going longer. And I think bottom line, if you're not losing you are taking in too much of something. Hope that helps!
