    Confused

That being said, there are plenty of people who lose beyond the specific average. That's why it's an average. There are people who do super duper well and those that do not even hit the 60%. I had RNY so my numbers are slightly different %. But Matt's done my numbers perfectly from a 5'4" woman. My ideal is 120lbs. On surgery day I was 222.4lbs. My RD expects me to hit goal at 156lbs. I expect to hit my 1st (soft goal) at 150lbs. Not too far off of the RDs expectation. My surgeons goal was 160lbs. And I passed that today. Woot!!! My next goal will be 145lbs which finally puts me in normal weight range. From there is anyone's guess. As Matt said, these last pounds are very slow to come off--like 2-4lbs per month slow. And I have now added in IF and things are picking back up. So I suspect that for most people to move lower on the scale and increase their % EBW lost numbers, you will have to have a determined approach to weight loss and maintenance. I do exercise every day (walking) and am trying to do some core strengthening exercises 3 days per week. It's not that your tool no longer works...it's that your baser instincts, food habits of a lifetime, crappy behaviors, combined with the ability to eat more (but still less than original) come back and challenge your resolve and determination.

5k Run! 6 months post op!

    Congrats that's super duper!!!!
  5. Wow that is super duper!!! I just found your other thread and posted. Sorry to make you duplicate stats here. But your losses are STELLAR dude!!! I'm so happy this surgery and IF are working for you!
  6. Congrats @Matt Z 70.3lbs is AMAZING, as is your journey!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!! I'm so glad we have a dude hangin' with us to help lay out what goes down from a male perspective (or up... bahahahahaha!) Have an awesome 'nother 6 months!
  7. Woohooooo Congrats @Matt Z. So what's today's weight and how much have you lost from surgery day to now?
  8. Gosh isn't it SO BIZARRE how that works and how the scale is a mother fuc*er? Talk about mind-fuc*! Gah! Congrats on having successful IF days and losing the glycogen bloat from the weekend!!!!! Wooohooo on .2lbs from your all-time-low!!! You got this Matt!!!
  9. Yum girl!!!! Those meals look delish! So does that golden tea/milk!!! Congrats on getting back on your fasting schedule and on exercising. The walk alone is VERY impressive, but then adding strength training too--you are burning the fat girlie!!! Wooohoooo! We want you to weigh again soon!!! (Now that girlie-time is almost over...) OK, so yesterday marked the end of 3, 24 hour fasts! Yippee!!! And I don't mind telling you that yesterday was hard. Oh, it was hard by the afternoon. But thank GOD for @GreenTealael's green tea mixed with the black teas I have here (Matt I'm gonna work on getting some of the ones you rec'd.) like Bigelow Peach and Celestial Seasonings ones. And of course, plenty o' decaff black coffee and tons of water. I'm happy to report success! Today I will do a 14/10 fast and eat normally, no caloric or macro restriction. I'll have 2 meals + the popcorn at the game and I may or may not have a couple of sips of a Diet Dr. Pepper. Dunno. Oh and a few peanuts--can't eat too many of those or I will feel ill, but I can handle about 8-10 max. I'm down to 157.6lbs. I never dreamed I'd wake to this whoosh. I felt like it might happen cuz I was peein' like a racehorse last night. But I'm afraid to feel excitement cuz I don't want to be disappointed in the scale going back up. I did have some poopies over the past 2 days and of course pee'd a lot as mentioned. So it's quite likely 99% fluid. But hey, I broke the 150 barrier by the end of September which was my goal!!! Wooohoooo!!! I didn't wake up a Starvin' Marvin' like I did yesterday, so think I will be fine making it through noon to 1pm on coffee and water and supplements. But boy do I have plans for lunch! I'm jonesing for my greens soup with shrimp and maybe one of my homemade meatballs (my daddy's recipe) that are lurking in the freezer all innocente. That's Spanish for innocent. hehe I make them up, cook and freeze on a tray, the bag and tag for later. They are 1oz portioned. I'm gonna make it Asian style. Hold me. Tonight we're just doing quick lettuce wraps with BH turkey and BH lacy swiss and veggies. No biggie. If I get hungry--which I won't, I'd probably splurge on a few almonds and 5 bing cherries. Ok, that's all I've got! Super thrilled but trying not to be. Last time I weight this I was a senior in high school.

    Not going to be Popular...

Liquid stevia appears in some studies to improve blood glucose control and maybe insulin sensitivity, I think? It's mainly the sweetener I use. If I occasionally have saccharine from Sweet n Low in iced tea when out at a restaurant, I don't sweat it. If I have a tiny bit of sucralose (aka Splenda) in a little Premier Protein, I'm not gonna sweat it. If I use a tiny bit of Swerve or something in low carb baking, meh, nobody's dyin' that day. By and large, the dose makes the poison and most of this stuff IS dose dependent. I will never be able to handle the stress that comes with being a dietary purist. The most I will shoot for is being a semi-aware/cognizant mid-hedonist who follows a pretty damned healthy diet 90-95% of the time and the other 5% of the time tries as much as possible to keep doses at the lowest tolerable for me. I'm not worried about the woman who drinks one Diet Coke a day. She'll live. She probably won't go on to develop diabetes...I'm more worried about the kid who downs 4-5 cokes a day, eats crap and packaged food, whose mom puts him on a diet of MORE packaged food and artificial sweeteners. Who cumulatively eats a crap ton of AS and other crap thinking he'll loose weight and instead is disrupting his metabolism and hormonal system and gut/brain axis, perhaps irrevocably--setting him up for big time Billy Badass probs as an adult. I think @Orchids&Dragons suggestion/solution for a protein drink sounds FABULOUS and so smart!!! Add some fresh spinach in there and blend the hell out of it and yummy!
  13. TYTYTY! So excited!! Thank you!!!
  14. Holy moly! No wonder it's hard to do a cup of coffee!! Ok, so I might be able to handle the matcha then!! I'm gonna order some from Vitacost.
  15. OH yah! It's one of my faves in hot coffee!! I will have to try the pumpkin spices!!! So glad to hear you like it!!!
  16. That's what he says in his YouTubes, that it spurs metabolism, has antioxidants and important micronutrients and antioxidants and is a weak appetite suppressant (both matcha and green tea). That's absolutely amazing about your pre-op weight loss with the green tea girl!!! So how does the 25mg of caffeine compare to a single cup of coffee?
  17. That looks beautiful! Tell me more about matcha please? About how much equivalent caffeine would be in a cup or two? I can drink a full 24oz glass of iced tea with lots of ice without a problem. I can drink "maybe" 1 cup of coffee without issue. But any more than that and I'm bouncing off the wall and fast heart beat etc. Dr. Fung talks that green tea and matcha have mild appetite suppressant associated with it?

    Vrylar Anyone?

Also, you can call your pharmacist and they can look up the pH and coating on the pill and tell you whether it's pH sensitive, water soluble, oil soluble, quick activating, etc. They did that for me with letrozole to make sure I could absorb my cancer drug. Hope it works without needing another script!! ((hugs))
  19. This is just from my surgery day stuff where I take my measurements. But my weight stuff is done month to month cuz it's just easier to say June..., July, etc. I'm actually down for 6+ lbs for the month of September lol.
  20. Gosh my losses are so REMEDIAL!!

    Vrylar Anyone?

Awesome girlie!! Hope you weren't offended by my immature joke cracking. If you are, I can go edit the original!! You rock!!!
  22. Crap! Really? How come when I finish counting on my fingers starting with March 20th and ending with September 20th I see 7 fingers? Then damn, my loss is fuc*ing slow!
