When can I have toast again?

Yes! This doooooo eeeetttt! (the 2nd ounce of cheese is to use between the 8 chaffles. Sprinkle a little on the bottom of the iron, then place the dough and squish it out a little (it's thick) then a little more cheese on the top. That makes them brown and crispy!

    Food Before and After Photos

Valentine's Day breakfast this morning. More fun with flags, I mean chaffles. I laugh that this is only 202 calories for the meal. I totally cheated and used a bottle hollandaise that's only 70cals for 2 tbsp. I only had 1 tbsp so boom baby. I'll take 35cals for hollandaise!

When can I have toast again?

I don't do the traditional recipe. Too eggy and too fattening. So I do them differently and they are very breadlike. I made this breakfast for only 202 calories this morning including the salad:

Ok, girl. Spill it! Where did you get the pasta. Can you hook me up to the link please? TIA! (Also Chuck, you could make my lo lo psylli chaffles and have one of them without being off-plan. I'm trying to get the website and recipe up soon. ) Here's my take on PBJ: My Lo Lo Psylli Chaffle with Peanut Butter (I combine real peanut butter with peanut butter powder for a lighter version.) The chaffle only has like 37 calories or something crazy like that and has 4g protein and 4g fiber so zero net carbs.
  8. Welcome. Most of us are "champeen" losers. Most of us have lost hundreds of pounds countless times in our lives. And clearly most of us suck at maintaining. Not only are we fighting our internal habits of a lifetime with food (addictions, using food as a drug, disordered eating behaviors, etc), but we also battle our metabolism and the neurohormones and gut hormones and insulin/glucagon, derangement that happens once obesity has set in. So we are walking time bombs. I would encourage you to spend time doing the head work. I would encourage working with a counselor and an RD. Please don't wing it. You only get one golden shot. After that, revisions become dicier and weight loss is usually slower plus you'll be out a lot of money. Please consider what kind of surgery you need. Do you need malabsorption in addition to restriction? Only you know this. Hope you post often.

  13. Not formally like they do in Fung's group or with Resetter's on FB. But some of us announce our fast and others join in on that day. I think we all do it a bit differently. Welcome to the group though! What forms of IF do you practice?

    Just not hungry...

Please report how it goes!!! You can also do ff fairlife mulk and sugar free hersheys syrup and pasteurized egg for a creamt dreamy egg cream. Even add a tsp of sf choco puddin mix!
  15. FluffyChix

    Just not hungry...

Ok try this!! 2oz nf plain grk yogurt 6oz ff fairlife milk 1oz baby spinach 1oz frozen blueberries liquid vanilla stevia to taste ice blend til smooth. you can also add 1oz avocado or frozen nana. But if u add nana, add more spinach! 😋 see if that either wakes ur appetite or if you can tolerate this! If you can tolerate it, then u can also add a pasteurized whole egg for more and better protein!!

    Low carb diet suggestion

The bottom line is that this is a life long journey with a very short window of "quick" weight loss. And you only have one golden shot at it. Because revisions are not usually as "easy-ish" as the first time. So you do you, Boo. But I think for you to be so categoricaly mis-aligned with your doc/RD that it's going to make your journey difficult and the sad thing is you will likely give up going to your check-ups etc. Which could spell disaster for you long term and regain in your future. So like, why have it at all? Or why have it with them. There are docs/centers who espouse a WFPD for all their surgical patients. Look one of them up and make the transition now. I will also tell you that I DO have a bias. I am pro-low carb and pro-lower healthy fat for the quickest losses and maintenance is done by adding healthy fats rather than adding protein or more fast acting carbs. I would have never gotten to my goal nor been maintaining had I been eating the grains and lots of fruit. I wouldn't. I have too many metabolic strikes against me. And not that it can't be done, but I think the life of a vegan or vegetarian WLS patient is very hard. The ones I know of in real life have either not gotten to goal ever or they have suffered big time regain. But I do know of a couple of women here who are very successful following a WFPD. But, they are also endurance athletes and as such, they're as much outliers as I am... I encourage you to look at other bariatric teams who are more closely aligned with your belief system. Studies show that long term success is directly linked to after care by a team of bari pros.
  18. Generally, if people are hungry every two hours after some time out, it could be a few things, but Occam's Razor (simplest is best), will show you that most of the breakthrough hunger is caused by: 1. Blood sugar crashes and insulin spikes from the previous meal. ( A meal should be able to last someone 3-6 hours and if you're feeling hungry at <2hours, you can find the culprit by looking at your food log. Anything with added sugar, fake sugar, or fast carbs - talking bout you Mr. Ritz! will cause this type of phenomenon. It can also be caused by habit...habitually eating every 2 hours never allows our blood sugar to go back to normal, and so we perceive that we need to eat cuz we're starving or shaky when the blood sugar hits normal rather than "low" or low normal. Point blank, it also hard wires the habit to receive a hit to the hedonic pleasure center every 2 hours. So the more we eat the more we get used to eating and want to eat. Also, snacks are usually pretty unregulated. I can EASILY add 500 calories in a snack to my daily total. So not only will I stall...I will gain.) 2. Your restriction prevents you from taking in adequate protein per meal. Usually 2-4oz of protein per meal will last a "normal" non-athlete between 3-4 hours. Anything less than that, and yeah you could be legit straight up hungry every 2 hours. 3. Your exercise level is causing blood sugar disregulation and causing you to go low (usually anything over 2 hours) which causes hunger. 4. It could be that time of the month...just sayin... 5. It could be that a medicine you're now taking or a vitamin you're taking has gone too high. (I can tell when I need to lay off my B-Complex and B-12 for a couple days. I get voraciously hungry. And the hunger dissipates the further out from my last dose of Bs. Check your vit levels with your doctor and tell him/her about your voracious appetite. 6. You need water. Lots of it. You are dehydrated. 7. It's natural. Around 7-9 months my appetite came back like there is no tomorrow. I added in IF at that point since I could easily satisfy daily protein needs with food. By adding IF, I was able to control my insulin and no more blood sugar rollercoasters and lost the rest of my weight.

    Just not hungry...

The answer lies in dilution, pure and simple. Also in changing your mindset. Self-fulfilling prophecy is a real thing. CHANGE your tape. CHANGE your game. Dilute the **** outta it and either make it super ice cold or super warm-ish...you can DO this! Hell, make a protein 1 minute cake if you have to. Eat it as a protein pudding mixed with sf instant pudding and some peanut butter or almond butter. Hide it in a piece of cheese...get creative. LOL.

    What is happening?!?!

Check your battery. But any way you slice, you gotta love and give mad proppahs to THE WHOOSH! (IDK...I kinda dig weighing nekkidy daily, the having my clothed PP/AP recordings that then get subtracted from the nekkidy total. Hahahahaaha! I keep some impressive data... )
  23. Don't chase the full feeling. This was a learning opp for you. The fullness in your chest is cuz of the pressure of your pouch and it may have backed up into your esophagus. Early out you CAN really injure yourself this way and bust a staple. Big time lean and big time Billy Bad Ass problem if you do that. Eat ONLY to your prescription and follow your doc's plan. If necessary ask the doc or RD HOW MUCH VOLUME you should be eating at one meal. Have 6-8 mini meals. At this time, I think I had 1/8c-1/4c volume limit? That is essentially a half to 1 egg.

    How do you psychologically deal?

    How do you psychologically deal?

I was just thinking about this yesterday! My BIL is super thin ectomorph. Never carried an extra pound. The assumption has always been that he was metabolically and genetically blessed with those genes. That he could eat as much as he wants, whatever he wants. But the reality is, if you watch him, he takes very small (girly) portions of food. And takes bigger portions of low calorie foods like salads and veggies. And some days he eats very little during the day (IF anyone?) or asks for super healthy meal days. And when I asked him about this at Christmas, he replied that he has to watch his weight. Insert jaw drop here. So I DO think that naturally thin "normal" people worry and adjust their foods (but they do it almost invisibly, cuz our filters just auto-assume they get to eat anything they want without consequence). But I think we are the same. Especially once we get surgery and our bodies allow us to defend a lower set point. And every skinny girl I've met personally? ALWAYS serves themselves miniscule portions of things.
