  1. For the first about 6 weeks postop, you'll really only be walking. Lifting weights, stairclimbers, and the like will come later. By 6 weeks postop, your incisions should be pretty well healed. BUT, I don't know what a waist trainer is, or why you'd want to use it, but it's not really a great idea. Anything that makes you sweat more than necessary will just cause you problems with dehydration (which is a huge concern for months postop). Working out moderately (and later when the weightloss slows down, you can go hardcore).. these things will do the body sculpting you want.. not gadgets and gizmos.
    Good luck!

It's just like a sweat band you put around your stomach for people who basically don't have weight loss surgery. But thanks for the info I appreciate it

  2. This that put a lot of pressure on your sleeve will give you heartburn. I have to make sure my bras are are position properly and if I wear Shapewear I have to be very careful in the amounts that I eat because any eating close to capacity hurts.

The best thing about having weight loss surgery is don't have to use hogwarts tricks and potions to lose weight and shape up. This is like a regular diet, The weight comes off.
I have a defined waist, no trainers used, and I don't even go to the gym. All I do is control my food.< br>

I figure that maybe it won't be the best idea yet until maybe a year or so later. So thanks for the advice. I believe eating can help a lot but I think it's important to do strength training etc. thanks for the knowledge

  3. So I haven't got my surgery yet I still have 9 days but I have a question regarding working out. I am aware while you are in the hospital they give you this type of girdle thing to try to keep you together for the pain. After the 4 weeks have anyone try to use one of those workout waist trainer things? I workout regularly now but I wanted to sweat more in the stomach area but not sure if that will affect my incisions. Any advice?

  4. I may be wrong, so don't my word as gospel. But, logically, I don't see them letting you wear the retainer. You can always re-pierce after if it closes. Is it that new that it would fully close up in 2-3 days? I would assume it may start to close, but nothing you couldn't re-open with one good painful push.

It seems like it would be that simple but it's really not. Re-piercing is like scar tissue and it's visible. I had this in for over 3 months or so now so it shouldn't close up but yeah.

  5. I was just about to post this topic! Yes I have and when people accidentally tell someone else it pisses me off. I just feel like this type of thing is something where it's your time to do what's best for you. If you don't want to share your weight loss surgery I feel like you don't have too. People are so obsessed with worrying about other people they can't worry about themselves.

  6. I know this is a pretty weird topic but I just want to know if anyone can give me any knowledge. So I have to take my ring out of course for the surgery but I was told that retainers aren't meant to be worn for long periods of time. So does anyone know how many hours after surgery I should put the ring back in? Let me rephrase that, how many hours it will take before I am able to put the ring back in my nose?

  7. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I'm pretty young (26) so it was difficult for doctors to take me seriously. I always woke up with a horrible headache and would trip over everything and can barely function in the morning. This has been going on for years and I thought it was just normal for me and I just wasn't a morning person. I'm still waiting for my CPAP and I'm hoping this will help me feel better. This diagnosis makes me qualify for the sleeve. My BMI is 37. I had my appointment with my surgeon and he said using the machine will increase my chances for success with WLS. They also have a theory that my sleep apnea caused my rapid weight gain because I had no change in my eating habits. Best luck to you on your journey. [emoji3]

You know I'm pretty young like yourself (23yrs) and I also just found out I have sleep apnea. My case is not severe as everyone and I been using my machine for two days. I'll be honest it's a lot to get use too. I was told I should lose more weight now that I have a machine as well. I don't know how long it takes the machine to work but my mom had a pretty bad case of sleep apnea and she seems to be doing a lot better. So I say good luck!
