  1. My surgeons office gave me 1500 calories a day but only because I do a hardcore workout 5x a week where I burn about 500-600 calories. Otherwise I would be on 1000-1200. I don't need to shrink my liver.

If you need to shrink your liver I'm a little surprised you're on 1500 calories and not on a liquid diet. However, different docs do things differently.

Everyone has to shrink their liver before the surgery. Everyone who has my surgeon has this diet so there really isn't no changing.

  2. Thank you for replying I wasn't talking about your group, just in general. I don't like when people get clicks I like this app because we're all going through the same journey so it's good to know I'm not alone.

Definitely is not a click. Most people here are having surgery the same day so we wanted just to text each other on the day because of the replying issue. But welcome

  3. I've been on this app for 3 days and every post I've made no one has responded to me. I'm having my gastric sleeve surgery this Thursday August 3rd. And I'm very excited and scared!!! I'm also having my hiatal hernia removed at the same time. I'm hoping to join your support group and anyone please feel free to call or text me. 1-708-571-9426. #hatedoingthisalone

I understand completely I haven't started the group yet but I think I'm just gonna add numbers to a group and go from there. My phone doesn't like to notify me but you got this just stay positive and keep steady.

  4. Are you weighing yourself on the same scale, around the same time of day, with basically the same clothing every time? If not then your numbers could be off.
For example - The scale at my house and my NUT has a three pound difference.

No I don't weigh myself everyday. It was my first time in like two weeks prior to this new diet so that could be a factor

  5. 1,500 might be too many calories. I was on 1,200 calories and that seemed to work better for me. Also how you are using those calories matter. In order to shrink your liver you need Proteins and veggies. Fruits have slot of sugar and stay away from carbs as much as possible.

1500 instructed by surgeon I eat what I can when I can. I'm starting to not care to much and just probably either not gonna eat or continue to do what I'm already doing

  6. So I'm starting my 2nd week of my 1500 calorie diet and I weigh myself at the gym. Now when I weighed myself I had on a wet swimsuit and towel ( why idk why), but it saids I weigh more than I originally weigh. So I don't really like this diet idk if my liver is shrinking I think it is because I be really hungry sometimes. I'm just ready for the surgery anyone else have this pre-op diet?

  7. So I'm talking to a couple of people that are close to me about the surgery. I sworn I wouldn't tell anyone but I think these people deserve to know. Anyway they were talking about did I start adding more squats and weights in my workout routine? I said kinda but not really why do you ask. They told me I was going to lose my figure and have to build it back up. I don't think that's true but then again I don't know I never lost more than 20 pounds in my entire life.

  8. I'm August 7th too! I have trouble getting PMs. They don't show up on my phone. But I'd love to keep in touch here.

I'm day 7 of the liquid diet. No solids not even yogurt. I've sort of adjusted but last night my family ate in front of the TV and I just had my shake and I just wanted a piece if cheese or a carrot. So hard!

I get full liquids after surgery so I'm looking forward to cream of mushroom Soup with the mushrooms strained out.

Yeah I'm on 1500 and it's tough so I know all liquids are tough.
