  2. Okay I am 11 month post-op my gastric sleeve. I am not sure if this is related or not, but any comments would be of great help. I recently developed a GI bleed. My surgeon is going to repeat the EGD he doesn't want to repeat the colonoscopy because I just had that done in January and everything was fine. I have centralized abdominal pain as well, so as anyone else had or have this problem?
  3. I am 6 month post-op my sleeve surgery, within the last two weeks (I would say) every time I eat I get pain in my stomach, today is the worse it starts I above my belly button and moves over to the right side. As I am typing this the pain is getting worse (much more noticeable). I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it could be appendicitis. Not sure if after having the sleeve done if your appendix can go bad. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    looking for information on appendicitis

Thank you. I am a great advocate for myself and my health. back in 2013 I had my gallbladder removed after insisting that there was something wrong. Even though all the test keep coming back normal. It was until I find a great surgeon who agreed to remove it and find that it was so diseased there was no blood supply to it. I have been dealing with this pain in my belly prior to my gastric sleeve surgery on May 31, 2017. I then had to have my esophagus re-dilated on August 2, 2017. I continue to be told that its not my appendix's but you know your own body. So I go tomorrow for an ultra sound on my belly, and they did more blood work. Hopefully I will finally get some answers and these doctors will start listening more so to their clients. All my research is pointIng to appendixs.

How Common Are Body Odor Problems

If you are having issues with your urine smelling that could be one of two problems first you could be dehydrated or diabetic which both cause strong urine smell. If your having problems with you breath smelling again this could be a diabetic problem. Sent from my LG-K373 using BariatricPal mobile app

Gym or no gym, that is the question

Not sure as to what type if health insurance you have. But if you call them and ask if your policy has a gym membership they will be able to help. A lot of insurance companies have gym memberships.

Gym or no gym, that is the question

I was given the go ahead 4 weeks post-op to return to normal actives including the gym (which was something I really wanted to do). My nutrition told me as well as others weight lifting is a much better approach, and after your work out you should consume a protein drink. Reasons it will aid in your weight loss. and weight lifting will add muscle mass and cut increases from your body. So if the scale does not more that is okay because you are cut increases from your body and adding muscle which is better than fat.

    Post-Op Stage 1 diet

You should be doing liquids only for the first 2 weeks post op. Then adding pureed foods. Keep in mind that you need 64 oz of water daily along with 60 to 80 grams of protein. Sent from my LG-K373 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Heidi's Story

So, I have decided that before my 40th Birthday there are a few things I would like to do, one of which I have registered to complete on October 21, 2017 and that is a 5K walk. I am currently 10 weeks post-op and with my surgeon and PCP's blessing I was given the okay to start training for that event. I have turn over a completely new way of living and that is for the better. Do not get me wrong I still have some bumps in this journey but I will not allow for those bumps to define me. I will continue to keep you all posted on my journey and wish nothing but the best for each and everyone of you.

    Heidi's Story

I just wanted to update things. Friday, July 28, 2017 was yet another rough day. I ended up making another trip to the ER as I was vomiting bile (no one seems to know what the problem is and it is getting frustrating). So I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon this morning, and he and I decided that it would be best to do a scope to look and see what is actually going on. So I was able to schedule that procedure for tomorrow. We are both very optimistic that we will be able to figure this out and get me the relief I so deserve. I will continue to keep those following me updated. Thanks again.
  13. Just wondering if any of you have a good healthy recipe for a boneless skinless chicken dish. As well as a fish dish (cod)? I really liked the sweet and sour chicken with rice. But i want to be able to control the calories and sodium intake. So if anyone has good healthy recipes please share. Sent from my LG-K373 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Heidi's Story

July 26, 2017 As of today I am eight (8) weeks post-op. In these short eight (8) weeks I have to say that my emotions regarding this surgery have been up and down. There are days that I can honestly say that this was the best decision I have ever made. Then there are days like this past week including today, where I sit and ponder the idea, "Was this worth the frustration that I am faced with right now"? See, when I was released from the hospital on June 1, 2017, I knew something wasn't quite right. But they insisted I would be fine once I got home. Well, they were wrong, I ended up back in the hospital that night due to severe dehydration. But once I was able to come home after another night stay I never felt better in my life. Now I am having issues of lower right abdominal pain and not able to move my bowels, and it is literally making me physically sick. No matter what I do, take, nothing is helping and as of today I am not able to eat without vomiting (sorry for being so graphic), but I need to tell my story. I mentally do know that this decision was the right decision for me, but physically and emotionally I am not quite sure. I have a follow-up with my PCP on Thursday, July 27, 2017. I honestly could not have ask for better PCP, she is so caring and concerned that she has her staff call me just see how I am felling. I just hope that between herself and me as well as my surgeon we will be able to figure this all out. So that I may continue on the right path of healthy weight loss, as well as enjoying this new journey that I have bark upon. Weight Loss Pictures.docx Weight Loss Pictures.docx

    Heidi's Story

Thank you, Nene; I had the Sleeve done on May 31, 2017. At 2 AM this Monday Morning I was on my to the ER in so much pain, I recall telling one of my nurses there that I wasn't in that much pain after I had my surgery. I feel like for ever 2 steps I take forward I am being push 7 steps back. I understand that I am only 8 weeks out, but I was not excepting this much problems. I'm too a point where I don't have the desire to even eat. I hope that my doctors can figure this all out really soon. I wish you the best of luck in your journey as well, and will keep you posted

Old clothes? What did you do?

I am only 7 weeks post op. And at about 2 or 3 weeks i cleaned my cloth out and gave everything to a friend that i knew could use them. Post if not all my cloths where brand new if not like new. I still have cloths to throw out. My problem is being strapped for cash to buy new cloths. So i wear things with elastic waist band and drawstring so I can tighten as I continue to lose. conspation

Hi I'm 7 weeks post-op. And I have learn that because you do not gave a lot going in (food intake) you will not have a lot coming out (bowel movement). What once was your normal will be a thing of the past. I think that your norm will be somewhere like every 3 days. At least that is what I found to be the case with me.
