  1. I'd also like to point out along with what others have said that muscle weighs more than fat, and you are looking like you're building muscle and toning up great! Keep it up! Some people might drop weight faster but not necessarily be more fit. Just keep working at it and it'll keep coming off. Definitely find more than one way to measure your progress. Best wishes hun.

I just had my 5th weight class for Medicaid. Any tips on how to get Medicaid to approve after the 6th visit to get a surgery date?

Just work with your Drs and do everything they ask. Did you already meet with the surgeon, dietician, do the psychiatric eval and all your labs and GI scope? Mine was approved after my 6th in exactly 6 months because I did everything the Dr and program required. It seriously took a week after they submitted my paperwork to get my approval. Where are you at with everything?

Tips.... patience definitely. The pureed stage seemed to last forever and was a really boring diet, but then it's over and things are so muvh better! One thing that helped me was dry milk powder. I bought unflavored Protein Powder (it does have a flavor really) and didnt like it. Did much better mixing dry milk powder into things like cream Soup. Made them creamier and didnt add a nasty taste. Much cheaper too.

Water goes down fine for me, but hot herb tea goes down even easier. I swear by herb tea every morning with 2 tsps of benefiber dissolved in it - to avoid some of the other postop woes

Thank you! Yeah I heard about the powder milk but the sugar content scared me. Thank you so much for all your tips. I'll definitely be using some of these.

  4. Congratulations! I totally understand how you're feeling. I was doing the same thing the other day and started double guessing myself. But I reached out to some friends who are doing good with it and let the negative stuff wash away. I think it's truly how you approach it and the support you have and refuse to let negative Nancy's scare me. I'm gonna go in positive and make the best of it all! I'm scheduled for April 16th. So we'll be in the same time frame. Good luck doll! Stay positive!

Hey guys! I’m having surgery in two weeks!! Looking for anyone have surgery in April that would want to maybe chat and keep in touch or share suggestions. I have my pre op and post op diets but would love to know what kind of recipes you all are planning to try or what Protein supplements everyone is planning to have. Also anyone have to drink Gatorade right before surgery? I thought that was wierd.

anyone know what Vitamins we should have after surgery?? I’ve been waiting to hear back from my nutritionist because I don’t meet with her till after surgery but I want to know ahead of time so I can start buying some.

    thanks!

Also for the Vitamins, I've been using the vitamin patches by patched. Much easier and seem to work great!

Home from the hospital after finally having surgery 23 Jan. Feeling pretty good so far! I have an annoying drain that has to stay in for a week and some really itchy spots but other than that I feel good!

Aww so excited you finally got yours done and are feeling well. I know drains suck and all the itching I'm hearing about sounds awful. But just think how temporary this stuff is. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to get mine done and over with.

  7. Sorry I haven't been on here guys. I've been so busy. But here's where I'm at. I've done all the requirements for the insurance and Dr Georgescu. I'm now waiting for approval so we can set a surgery date. I'm hoping in February or March I'll have the actual surgery done. Hope all is well with you all. I'll be getting caught up with all of your progress soon friends and would still love to do a meet up sometime.

Good choice!! I had my sleeve surgery with Dr. Chae in November. Him and his team are AWESOME! Super understanding and judge-free. He answered all my crazy questions before surgery and was super responsive after the surgery to any questions/concerns I had.

Hi there! Just finished my 6 month required Dr visit for insurance, already did everything else, so now just waiting for approval. Hopefully in February or March I'll have my surgery done.

I've only been in CO for a year now, but have been told by a couple natives that since I didn't come from California, it's ok :)

My surgeon wanted me to lose 15 pounds before a pre-op appointment. Likely just to start new habits. After speaking to the dietician, I'm doing a high Protein, low carb diet. First 6 weeks went great - 10 pounds down! This last week, one pound up. I do know I ate too many carbs. Back to basics to drop some more before the temptations of vacation food!

Well welcome to Colorado luv! And keep pushin to stay on track. You got this!

Honestly I feel amazing! I had moderate pain in the hospital but otherwise I've been just taking Tylenol since day 3/4. I'm walking about 2-3 miles a day already and my energy is better than before. I suggest walking before, that seemed to help me to bounce back maybe? Lol. Also I think a lot of it is mind over matter, so just remember the pain is temporary and follow your doctor's orders to the letter. Good luck!!

Awesome tip! Yes I'm trying to get more active since now so it won't be so hard. I've heard it makes a big difference.
