  1. Fairlife is my saving grace!! I take 20oz in a thermos every day and it’s the main reason I get above 60g of protein a day. Love that stuff.
  2. I just started that stuff. Have you found it to be helpful? I don’t want to loose any more hair.

    Ugh.. my hair!!

Thank you for this. We are in the exact same boat. My hair has always been too thick so I haven’t hated the thinning but I’d love for it to stop now. I’m on some Hair Nail Skin stuff ( something like that) which has biotin and I’m hoping the loss stops soon.
  4. I had my revision on 6/26/2017. I feel like I may be an oddball because I'm not seeing other threads with the absence of issues. Please understand that I'm thankful and wish we all could feel this way, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm an anomoly. I am able to drink fluids and water without issues. I'm supposed to be on liquids only but absolutely feel like I could progress to soft foods. (I have snuck had a cheese nip or two). I don't get esophageal spasm unless I take a big gulp, or drink too rapidly. I only feel gross after eating if I choose to eat/drink something full of sugar or fat, or if I eat too rapidly, even though I think I'm going slow, but apparently not slow enough. I have really struggled on the liquid diet in that I'm so over this. I like most people, love to chew. I was never one to drink smoothies, milk shakes or eat soup or yogurt. I want to chew! Lets just say I haven't been the most compliant patient on liquids. What is my point? Not sure. I guess I just want to know if there is anyone else out there who feels like I do?
  5. This is my biggest struggle for sure. I knew it would be. I'm a chewer. I hate drinking my food. That's why I have never been one to eat milkshakes or smoothies. I have gotten to the point that instead of eating another high protein soup i'd prefer to eat nothing at all. I have snuck some food like the previous poster. To save arguments I AM NOT ADVOCATING THAT YOU DO THE SAME. I wasn't able to "power through". So I do a tiny bit here and there. And I chew chew chew. I definitely choose easier to digest items: cheese, cracker, noodle. Nothing too suspect. I pray at my appt on Monday that I'm allowed cottage cheese. I would kill to have some cottage cheese right now.
  6. I completely understand. I have spent months in therapy discussing my issues with food and the crap my mother said to me as a kid. To this day, we cannot get through a food situation without her talking about weight loss or weight watchers. If I make poached eggs she asks "are you back on weight watchers?" I am over discussing my weight with her. Therefore, I didn't tell my parents I had the revision. I lie. I won't commit to dinners until I can start eating again. I don't care if it's lying. It is my medical history and my choice. In future I will just say I am eating more proteins, eating less, and making better choices.

    Show me a day

A Do you have any suggestions for an unflavored protein powder that I could add? In a dream scenario it would completely blend in and I wouldn't notice grit or taste.

    Am I different?

Ok. I'm probably just borrowing trouble. Thanks.
  9. I hear you!! I am less that two weeks post op and on liquids and my brain is going crazy! I hate drinking my food, always have. I was never one for milkshakes, yogurt, smoothies, soup, etc. to this has really been a challenge. I've gotten to the point that the idea of drinking another protein supplement makes me feel sick. I've basically been drinking fairlife for my protein. My goal isn't to say no to McD in the future. My goal is for it to be a "sometimes" thing cause I would prefer something that is natural and makes me feel good.
  10. I had Ulcerative colitis back in the day and had a complete large intestine removal 17 years ago. Therefore, I go to the bathroom on average 8-10 times a day. I had surgery on 6/26/2017 and didn't have a BM for 2 days. I was advised to take benefiber (which is awesome because it dissolves completely and you can't even taste it) and that helped. You can imagine that going from 8-10 times a day, every day for 17 years, to 0 for two days made me very scared. However, the GI tract just needs some time to chill out. I hope yours gets moving soon too.
