2 months post op. Sleeved 10/16

Sleeved 11/7 SW 238 CW 210 I was 270 at my heaviest in 2014 ALSO cant believe the progress
  2. Im from the US, So I do not know how the healthcare system works there but have you tried advocating for IV infusions of Iron? I had the same problem with anemia and it was the only thing that worked for me. And it was this same reason i chose VSG. Also be very vocal about your choice of the VSG above RNY and state why. Hope that helps (from south of the border)

    dumping with artificial sweetners

Stur liquid water enhancer is made with stevia But a word of caution Your ability to stomach stevia may change post surgery I used only Stevia in my life prior to surgery and now more than one serving makes me have a reaction now similar to dumping and i was sleeved (dumping usually does not happen with the sleeve) Safe journey

    Post-surgical issues

I'm also Almost 7 weeks out Have you tried clear protein drinks or protein waters? Also adding ice or water to those super sweet protein shakes really helps... And not a popular opinion but you may have to buckle down and survive one swallow at a time. Speady recovery
  5. OK so please please please advocate for a change in pain meds. I was non responsive to opiate, they did nothing for my pain no matter how much I got. You may have the same problem but only a change will tell. Breathe deeply don't panic and keep advocating for the best care possible by your team including changes you want to try

    Scale or no scale

No scale for me I use them when available like at a friends house or doctors appointment which is not often I hold myself accountable by tracking everything I consume. Bonus I never know about my stalls
  7. Super happy, I had no complications so it was smooth sailing for me Research everything Don't buy too much ahead of time Follow your plan closely Walk even if it's only for a few mins indoors Smile in the mirror even if you don't like what you see yet Track food and water meticulously Don't become a slave to the scale
  8. Amazing, congrats on your hard work and success

    TMI but need help

    How are you doing now?
  11. Hi did you have the sleeve first or straight into the DS procedure?
  12. Thanks for this, vegetarian resources are hard to come by
  13. My insurance was not as rigorous and didn't require the weight loss or waiting period, so that may be a factor for some. Also the classes vary greatly by center. I received a 4 page book on the diet after surgery and IMHO it was not detailed enough in respect to variations on themes of food groups. So the amount of information distributed can be vastly different and people come to sites like these to glean information from others in similar positions Because honestly at 8pm my Surgeon and NUT are no longer answering non emergency questions...
  14. I had sleeve surgery about 7 weeks ago but can't seem to update my profile
  15. OMG gorgeous Do you also have before pics?

    Embarrassing BM changes (TMI)

May I suggest flushing at various points in your bathroom session, smaller amounts SHOULD flush easily
  17. Speedy and easy recovery!!
  18. Congrats and welcome!

  20. Wow, please provide greater detail to help someone else can know the risks you are specifically speak of...

I’ve regained ALL the weight back 😢♀️

The person that began this thread obviously is an adult and WANTED a consensus from the court of public opinion. That individual can chose to accept or ignore the opinions that they choose. That being said the tone of the topic including the honesty about eating habits deserves honest answers, feels like a public cry for help, when it should be one made to that individual's medical team
  22. And no need to be worried about regrets (you'll see for yourself ) plus I'm only 7 weeks out from surgery so I assume eventually it will become second nature and I won't even notice anymore
  23. I absolutely DO NOT regret getting sleeved, I would do it again in a heartbeat, should have done it years ago. Eating and drinking is just something to be mindful of because the overall success of these procedures depends on following through with the plans and rules without cheating so I never cheat. And that means no eating and drinking within 30 mins of the finish of each session.
  24. Wake up Drink wait 30 mins eat for 30 mins Wait 30 mins Drink.... On and on it goes
  25. That I would live my life in 30 minute blocks...
