I think stronger moderation of the board (maybe but I don't like stringent oversight) or just reposting of rules before entry (no x,y,z allowed) would help a lot. Everyone had strong opinions and personalities, bit we should be able to coexist here. But I think for sure NEVER EVER any personal attacks. I like this site A lot, and ALL of the participants. We just need to chill sometimes. VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

Which type of vegetables do you focus on ? I was noticing that a few of my contemporaries are not really eating vegetables, just meat and dairy. VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

Thanks, Got it ! So not necessarily the macro count, but the food type? I'm not allowed most of the same items either on my plan, probably never will regularly again. I do eat legumes, vegetables, some fruit and some seeds, everything I will ever eat is already back in my diet. I wonder heavily about regain, I don't see many who eat like me, @Creekimp's diet is similar, a lot of people seem to eat just animal protein and diary, also a lot of the VETS are either not around /not social or struggling with regain themselves so I'm grateful that you are willing & able to answer my questions. Jess, your program still wants you to eat low carb 5 years out while in maintenance? How long will you stay that way? Can you give us an idea number and or menu wise what a typical day looks like for you? I hear a lot if varying info , a lot of people saying they will add carbs back once they are I'm maintenance... Is that not likely? Thanks! VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

I think you would benefit from finding a NUT to create a plan, there's no way of knowing where you should be nutritionally without a plan. My plan was tailored to me. It may generally guide you, but please Check with a professional, this is so important because there are so many different styles of post operative plans. VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

    Not Protein Driven

I was up very late watching YouTube (Dr. V- Vong ?) He has some interesting ideas about not being so protein driven after surgery. I have already consulted my team and have been given the green light so I'm slowly transitioning to plant based again ( I'm flexible at the moment leaning heavily on plant matter) but also I'm not sold on being protein crazed either, especially the further out I go. I will have to watch carbs forever because I'm sensitive to them so there is a delicate balance for me. Is there anyone following the Dr. V approach? Don't forget to "like" if you like... (Show a little love its the Brooklyn way!) VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

    Not Protein Driven

Of course nearly everything I tried to upload was problematic, After researching I think I will play around with alternating normal high to med high Protein intake when I convert to fully plant based. Just to stave if the desire to return to a heavy carb diet. I'm too carb sensitive. VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167
  22. A lot of people don't seem to understand food addiction (I don't), etc. I think that is the real problem. They believe will power will get you through. Not making excuses for anyone here at all but, if it was a drug/alcohol addiction, rehab and resources would be available and expected to be used to get well . No one would expect the girlfriend to use/drink in the next room. The advice would be totally different. You would be asked if you are attending support groups, seeing your sponsor, staying away from negative influences etc... we need to start treat this like the problem it really is VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167

  25. I still cook for my family, and while they eay almost exactly how I eat, some things are different. BUT The worst part of cooking for other people is taste testing! Not because I'll go off the rails from a taste, but because the sensory difference! Everything is too ... Sweet, salty, spicy etc. I just can't tell if I'm seasoning correctly for everyone else anymore... Also I'm always like " am I required to wait 30 mins between taste testing and drinking water??? " idk Anyone else have this problem? VSG2017 HW 249 SW 238 CW 167
