When you can't finish your meal

Yes eating around the surgery is definitely possible and a scary thought but the fact that you're thinking about it and being cautious is probably a good sign ♥️ -
When you can't finish your meal
GreenTealael replied to BigSue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please take other people's experiences with a grain of salt. Sometimes people who disclose things on public platforms don't necessarily give all of the details. There may be other reasons missing from the story of what let that specific content creator to regain. If I cannot finish something, I either store it for the next meal or throw it away. Food waste is a concern for me as well but I prefer it to overeating in one sitting or trying to eat something that did not hold up well in storage. Good Luck ️ ❤️ -

These are pretty good for homemade. I cannot detect a flavor or texture difference. But since this flour is more expensive than I expected and now I'm nervous about alternative flours (after my coconut flour falls) I'm using it 1:1 with regular flour. I have not tried it alone yet. If you decide to get it, please let me know what you think. I need backup.🤣 -

The last time I suspected I was developing a UTI, I went to my local health food store for cranberry supplements. The owner suggested I use D-Mannose instead. (I trusted his opinion because we have developed a rapport over the last 15+ yrs of patronage) Research about D-Mannose use for UTI, ask your Doctor first of course. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27424995/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23633128/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32972899/

Strange & unexpected changes

My eyes are only slightly less hooded than before, but l looked at childhood photos and confirmed that this is my normal eye shape I am surprised to find that after WLS that I have more prominent cheekbones than I thought so I get to contour less with makeup. -

Day 10 Post Op and It's Not What I Expected.
GreenTealael replied to ANewJourneyAwaits's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Actually I think your experience is normal. It's possible that you're more likely to hear or read about outliers at either end of the bariatric "success" spectrum on help sites than from people who had unremarkable surgeries and recoveries as there is little to mention. Vets like @catwoman7 who have been around a lot longer than me may be able to confirm but there's usually a pattern to the posts you'll see and it's almost always someone seeking information or help for a concern or unexpected response to surgery. People who are fine check in less frequently. Good Luck and Congratulations ♥️ -
I hate insurance companies. Yours seem to want you to become Sherlock Holmes, a Bariatric surgeon, a contract Lawyer and then draw venn diagrams to figure this out. It appears that this means that only Roux en Y gastric bypass with a roux limb longer than 100 cm is allowed under your benefits plans IF you fall into the category of morbid obesity. It outright excludes the antiquated vertical banded gastroplasty (stomach stapling) and short limb Roux en Y by name. You will have to look at the materials it says to refer to and find examples or call and ask for clarification on accepted procedures, but get it in writing. It seems that no gastric restrictive procedures are covered unless they are also malabsorptive. So your choice would have to be a Roux en Y gastric bypass with a roux limb longer than 100 cm and your BMI classifies you as morbidly obese in order for it to be covered. You will have to pay for every other procedure (Vertical sleeve gastrectomy, Lapband, ESG, *maybe* mini RNY, and *maybe* DS/SIPS but the language is not clear on the last 2) Below is a link to various types of Bariatric surgeries perfomed. Hope this helps ♥️ https://asmbs.org/patients/bariatric-surgery-procedures
