Need to lose weight for new program

You seems to be doing all the right things. Perhaps don’t make any extreme changes until after your first appointment. They will usually give next steps and details at that point. Also If the guidance was casual the person giving it (unless it was the surgeon or nutritionist) may not have exact details on your specific needs or insurance requirements.
  2. There are so many ways WLS changes our bodies so I wanted to start a thread about it ❤️
  3. I agree I think there are not may Bariatric surgeons creating content for the general public. I appreciate it a lot.

    Plastic Surgery Countdown is on!

I have only done this 2 times and it was not ideal. I can tell you the better fajas for this will have a long zipper from the front pubic area that zips down under all the way up to your lower back (if that makes sense) when you unzip it it’s a very very wide opening and you don’t have to risk getting anything on it. I have purchased 2 M&D Colombians fans, and I really like these. Apparently Tributo is the top tier but very expensive. but I used the zipper all of the time just to pee. I always had under wear on under which I moved to one side during the process. Very elegant 😝
  7. I found this video and wanted to share it with everyone (but especially for anyone worried about regain)

    Buyers remorse or just crazy

You probably don’t want to hear it right now but this is a huge accomplishment! I’m sure you know the ravages of diabetes on the body and to have it go into remission is absolutely amazing. Also at a year post WLS, most of our bodies Aren’t even at their final point as weight is still settling and shifting but things can get better in time. Definitely do your glamour shoot & even throw In a boudoir session as well. Your confidence may be boosted when you see your beauty in the eye of another beholder (your photographer). Good Luck ❤️

Eating too much? 3 months out

Same! I always order typical sandwich items either with lettuce buns/wraps or just fillings. Everyone thinks it’s weird but places always accommodate my requests,

Eating too much? 3 months out

Do you still have access to your postop dietary plan that was provided to you by your team? How much in quantity do they expect you to eat at three months postop? Most plans are asking people to eat no more than 1 cup by volume or 4ozs by weight for quite a bit of time post op. Some things to consider: Are you allowed to eat bread by this point? If yes, Was the sandwich mostly bread? Or vegetables? Was it mostly meats or cheeses? If you really want that sandwich experience, you may have to make your own where you can control the portions and macros using Bariatric friendly substitutes, like lettuce wraps. But please ask your team about food stages, amounts, etc, first.

    tmi Seeing Someone and Self-Conscious

Find something that actually makes you feel more confident/sexy (and let it carry over to intimate situations) like reading/listening to empowering books & music, exercise, self care, candles, lingerie, foreplay, etc. And you may have to practice building your confidence alone for a bit. From personal experience, I think it’s a huge red flag if someone is critical (instead of helpful) during intimacy. Most people won’t do this because they under the social implications. Most usually take the path of ghosting because it’s easier and less confrontational. Either way if a potential partner is tactless in this area, run. Have Fun ❤️
  13. As it was explained to me by a plastic surgeon I chose not to go with (I didn’t want to wait) : It tends to be a long process to get insurance to pay for plastics. The need must be demonstrated over a period of time. A patient would have to have documentation over six months to a year from doctors about the skin issues and rashes, be prescribed medication for it, have the medication fail to treat it for Insurance companies to even consider paying for it. While that’s not an impossible task, it’s long. Also the surgeon must be willing to wait to be reimbursed after surgery (often less than their self pay prices) if prior authorization is not available for the procedure from your insurance company. This is likely the reason why many plastic surgeons do not want to deal with insurance companies. Or you can pay upfront and ask the surgeon to submit a claim to insurance for reimbursement but there’s no guarantee you’ll actually be reimbursed. Most people shop around while looking into plastics anyway, so you may be able to find surgeons who will except insurance if the surgeon you prefer cannot accommodate you. Good Luck!

    60 minute pre-op requirement

I agree with everyone, never heard of this before as a requirement vs a suggestion. How will they know? Are you being given a fitness tracker? If it is based on the honor system, tell them what they need to hear- that you are working your way up to the 60 mins over time. Perhaps try modified (chair) exercises/slow yoga or tell them about your limitations and ask for an exception.

    Stalled after 1.5 weeks?

Stalls happens to nearly everyone. Personally I suspect that the people who do not hit stalls also find valuable antiques at garage sales, win free cruises and never get traffic tickets. I stalled from week 3-7 (but did not know because I did not weigh myself except at the doctor), then I suspect I stalled multiple times after that too. I still made it to where I needed to be. Bariatric teams usually stress the importance of hydration over food at this point post surgery. There is usually more concern from the complications of dehydration vs low calorie intake - we are trying to use the excess stored fat after all. Ask your team if it is okay to only eat the amount you are comfortable with and at the frequency that works for you. The extended eating time frame is usually for when we start solids. Most of the time If we hold up our end of the bargain (mentally), our bodies will do the same. It will all come together eventually and life after WLS will not always feel like a chore. Good Luck!

Two days in a row! Someone told me my outfit was trendy so immediately I had to post it (Vegan leather dress featuring my abnormally long hands - thanks body dysmorphia 😩)
  18. Congrats & I'm glad your Surgeon is a rockstar. I'm glad you feel better already. My conversion from VSG to RNY to a lot longer than my surgeon expected (~3 addition hours) because he had to clear the field of a great deal of adhesions.
