Dr saying not to drink protein shakes!
GreenTealael replied to Dubai_MGB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do your own research but by all means please follow your plan. Hopefully your team can give you guidance on alternatives to protein shakes. -

Egg omelette (1.5 eggs but I only ate 1/2), home fries (btw what do you call these?), 1/2 traditional drop biscuit (made with Splenda instead of stevia) -
Trader Joe's bariatric-friendly products?
GreenTealael replied to BigSue's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Water. Joking! I don’t know any new products that are Bariatric friendly but if you see anything low carb for keto it’s a good chance it will have less carbs but not necessarily less calories, however I love Ak-Mak -
Study re: benefits of PS after WLS

This! For me I tend to put extra care into preserving and maintaining things I believe are highly valuable. -
Big day tomorrow!
GreenTealael replied to healthy and fit @ 60's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Congratulations! That weak feeling may be because of electrolyte loss (like when someone has diarrhea) -

Omelette (1 egg) and Regular flour cheddar biscuits (so to me carbquik tastes only mildly different depending on the seasonings used) no clue about cal tracking info 😂 -
Yes I’ve experienced a stricture also. If it is a structure they will use a balloon like tool to widen it during the Endoscopy. Easy, no pain and a minor procedure. Good Luck ❤️

Sounds like nervous excitement! Congratulations ❤️

Now a number of companies have hopped on the reduced sugar, sugar free and sugar alternative bandwagon when making juice drinks I like tea (hot and iced) with a sugar sub, various water enhancers, vitamin water zero, diet Snapple, Bai drinks and I found this one recently and it’s not bad at all https://www.minutemaid.com/products/zero-low-sugar-juice-drinks

Fatigue and not eating enough
GreenTealael replied to Nana_vsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It sounds like this amount you are eating is due to your restriction. That is how VSG works, it limits the amount you can eat but over time you will be able to eat more. To stay hydrated, you will have to drink constantly. It will feel like a chore but it’s necessary. The fatigue you are feeling is possibly from mild dehydration (or vitamin deficiencies - Are you prescribed vitamins?) Congratulations so far ❤️ -
Any Bakers/Chefs Who Had WLS?!
GreenTealael replied to RTL1234's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m also a home cook but I have been baking for a long time. I don’t know if it happens for everyone but I lost interest in making things I couldn’t/wouldn’t eat, so that helped me to stay on track. When I first had WLS, I made everything with a sugar substitute. Everyone around me adjusted or found their full sugar goodies elsewhere. Even now that I’m a few years out, I can periodically indulge in regular baked goods, anything I make is still with a sugar substitute. The only exception is when I’m making a dough with yeast. I add the appropriate amount of sugar. -
Nausea after revision from sleeve to bypass
GreenTealael replied to Jetsfan2020's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Is it literally everything making you sick or just somethings? If you can’t keep anything down at all I would ask for a diagnostic test to make sure there are no ulcers, infections (H. Pylori), irritation (gastritis), stricture, etc. Good Luck ❤️ -

As I suspected! If you really need a substitute you won’t mind any slight difference to regular flour. But it probably does not taste exactly the same. -
Plastic Surgery Countdown is on!
GreenTealael replied to kristieshannon's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
It gets easier over time as your swelling goes down, then it’ll be too loose in some areas. Don’t buy a new one instead have a tailor alter only the loose areas. -
Reconsidering Medical tourism? Can you change your insurance? Perhaps even reach out directly to surgeons especially at teachings hospitals and ask if they will perform your case Pro Bono? Good Luck

It seems like when someone is a general hater, anything you do will be unnecessary. I had plastics at the beginning of the pandemic and someone pathetically attempted to shame me about it. Ignore them all and live your best life

I made cheddar biscuits or buns with the Carbquik flour. I used 80% carbquik & 20% regular flour because in still nervous about using alternative flours now 😔 No noticeable difference to me And these are regular cheddar biscuits. They look and feel the same, but I haven’t tried the regular ones so idk about the flavor -
The Joys of Orthostatic Hypotension
GreenTealael replied to Pandemonium's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you are doing better! You are far from alone. I also have experienced this but never bothered to ask a doctor to look into it because it’s so infrequent and a normal quirk post surgery. Now I see it is not. I hope a resolution is found quickly. Please take care and let us know how things go ❤️ -

I ended up making the French toast a few days ago. I used the Aldi zero carb bread and of course whipped cream because this was essentially dessert -
ChubRub's Plastic Surgery Thread
GreenTealael replied to ChubRub's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wow! 7 days went by fast. How is sleeping in the recliner going? -
I understand. I don’t know how insurance companies expect people to patiently wait weeks upon weeks while they decide the next steps of our lives! I was so nervous, excited and impatient for surgery that 2 weeks after my info was submitted, I called my insurance companies everyday until I had an answer. I even went through the trouble of getting names and IDs of reps to speak to them again for continuity. I’m certain they were tired of me 😂 I hope your determination comes back quickly
