    5 months post sleeve

Yogurt, string cheese, protein shakes ,eggs, turkey chilli and if all else fails protein chips, protein cookies and protein crackers. But I advise you speak with your surgeon or nutrition to discover the problem... Can't eat that way forever...
  4. NEVER EVER let anyone (who's not a photographer ) take your pics besides yourself. And even then review and redo. In selfies I look like the talented smoldering eyed ingenue, Other peoples photos.. Confused, Crossed eye and greasy

    How youuuu poopin’?

So the sleeve does not alter the digestive system like RNY, what I noticed is at first during liquid stages it was a loose but I expected this since liquids in liquids out. Then mostly normal. No excessive odor or crazy color/consistancy. Once in a while im slightly SLIGHTLY constipated. So get your fiber in.
  7. It depends on: Comorbidities Surgeon Insurance or self pay
  8. I choose the sleeve but I too was scared. So scared that I set my affairs in order, turned to prayer and reminded myself I lived every moment of my life and wouldn't change a thing (except being obese)
  9. I'm sure there are plenty of people doing the same. You always have the choice to do what you want, I hope it all goes well for you at the end of the day.

    High carb ? Low carb?

Please tell me how you get to those macros? Shakes?

    High carb ? Low carb?

Nice, Grains don't make an appearance on my plan for a few more months and even then I'll be avoiding them. I know carbs are my frenemies...
  16. Ugh read the post wrong and responded incorrectly... It's usually based on each person's progress and that particular surgeons comfort level progressing patients through the stages

    Insurance

Only your insurance and surgeon can make that decision for sure... but if you are self pay... That changes everything

    Plant based protein

I was a vegetarian also and slowly working my way back I eat mostly fish as a source of non plant protein but here's a list of plant based sources : Lentils 1cup 18g protein Black beans 1cup 14.5g Sunflower seeds 1cup 31g Tempeh 1cup 31g Quinoa(cooked) 1 cup 8g Egg 7g protein Cottage cheese 4 oz 13g Edamame 1 cup 18g Greek yogurt 5.3oz 13g Hummus 4 tbsp 5g protein Spinach (cooked) 1 cup 6g Tofu 1/2 cup 11g protein Sources : Weightloss surgery for dummies cookbook The everything after weightloss surgery cookbook
  20. The diet varies based on the need to the surgeon and patient Surgeons like to shrink the liver to have greater visibility during laproscopic surgeries in the abdomen. Livers in obese people ate larger usually due to a condition called fatty liver. To reduce the size your body must go into ketosis (fat metabolism) and the liquid diets speed this up. That being said I did not require a liquid diet prior to the two days before where almost everyone goes only on clear liquids.
  21. These surgeries are usually approved based on your starting weight at the consult meeting. That's why they weigh you then.

Set Backs (of my own devising)

Oh I understand... On a positive note you may lose everything is need to between now and surgery if you have a mandatory liquid preop diet. If not, I suggest you follow one similar to what a surgeon would recommend. It's what I had to do. About 2 months prior to surgery I was heavier than at my consult appointment. How embarrassing! Buckled down and kicked. My own a** You can do it!
