  1. Transitioning back to vegetarian and just wanted to try a different type of protein shake besides whey based (I will be ovo lacto pescatarian for a while still until I make it as close to vegan as possible) Which brand does anyone recommend to add to coffee like creamer? This is the only way I drink the shake so far... Thanks!
  2. Wow so sorry for your troubles, after the initial recovery phase you will probably need to visit a gastro doc and nutritionist at the very least to set up a plan for your specific needs especially to prevent weight loss and further damage. But I believe that repairing ulcered/cancered stomachs was the original use of this surgery (before weight loss) since the early 1800s and has worked well long term if that is any consolation. Safe journey!

    Cold feet

Put on your favorite music and dance your way into your new life... Nervousness is completely normal , I refused to sleep the whole night before surgery and instead binge watched my favorite movies. I was exhausted and deliriously happy by time I was rolled into the OR. SAFE JOURNEY !

    Taking the plunge

i never had any problems with vegan subs when it came to taste and and I realized Im just not built for meat. Not daily anyway not even fish. So I will be limiting all animal based foods and focusing in plants plus I'm not having any problems getting meals in so more whole foods and leafy greens for me.

    Taking the plunge

I have finally decided after speaking with my Surgical PA to transition back to plant based diet at 7months post op! Super excited I will begin as an ovo-lacto-pescatarian then see how far towards vegan I will get. Probably not far as I didn't really love it the first time I was vegan. Also I'm going to get all of my protein needs from whole foods for now as I have returned all of my premier shakes to Sam's club today. Anyone else transitioning?

    7 months post op

  8. So good my teens drink it... Willingly
  9. I make a detox water that I had while in France , basically filtered water basil leaves mint leaves and various fruit . I drink it all the time. Cheers
  10. Hi there I have to agree with the last poster, I had alot of hidden sugars in my diet that one had to work REALLY HARD to eliminate LONG before I even considered surgery. I actually stopped using sugar to start and then stopped eating foods that contained high amounts of non naturally occurring sugars then limiting those for special occasions. I Gave up juice completely. Doing that automatically stimulates a small reduction in weight and the need to always eat sweet foods. Sugar has been studied and found to have similar addictive properties as narcotics. It stimulates the pleasure center of the brain which does not sound bad unless you become dependant on the stimulus. You may need to detox to ensure the best possible outcome. Safe journey.

  12. I also struggle with accepting compliments and attention, idk why, whether it's work, artistic, physical or academic. I choose to grin and say thank you because I know they are given with the best intentions and not to make me uncomfortable.
  13. Can I use egg roll sheets also, I happen to have those on hand, or is there some difference nutritionally?

    Peanut sauce?

I made one that was basically blended peanuts and a tiny bit of oil of your choice add both slowly bit by bit then a little Water to thin out and cut calories  but caution it's high calorie so you'll use a lot of caloric intake for nothing basically

    I feel so down

You are absolutely allowed to feel all the emotions you want, but at some point you have to refocus and get back to the work of self care rapid and slow weight loss both have perks and drawbacks but your journey is your own and your body will do what is right for you

    Serious Thoughts.....

I agree however not everyone is willing to face these mental hurdles that still need immediate physical interventions. So doctors do tell best they can and work on the hardware in hopes that the software upgrade follows suit.
