Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
GreenTealael replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yes small take out but it's a ton of protein, beef and chicken & I ate some before I remembered to get a pic. I can't handle beef well but decided why not lol. I doubt I will be hungry enough for additional meals. Plus unseen was a bite of cheesecake. I was hungrier and eating more before IF, my hunger has greatly diminished. I'm just drinking more these day. -
I have a question that's been haunting me for a while. Why would anyone pick the least effective surgery for their particular needs (obesity level, food addiction, prior health issues, other mental health concerns, etc)? Is it lack of research or self sabotage?

GERD but want to have sleeve
GreenTealael replied to notmyname's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The choice is yours it appears but: Are you willing to have multiple scopes, swallow tests, dialiations and metabolic surgeries? Or fight insurance companies to get the revision approved? Or pay for it out of pocket if not approved but necessary say if your insurance and policy changes? Or regaining because your GERD derails your efforts by making it impossible to tolerate anything but Carby foods (this is what I see alot of regain/GERD revisers claim, not sure if it's true)? Or the risks of having RNY at a lower weight if you lose the weight necessary but develop issues? You may have smooth sailing but perhaps not. I strongly suggest weighing the risks and positive outcomes of both procedures and go with the safest for you. -
NOTHING wrong with that!😎

I just went I see Searching staring John Cho and Debra Messing (unexpectedly great movie) with my sister as an early birthday celebration for her. She had froyo and I had iced coffee, I don't think there were any eating scenes in the movie. She and I both commented on how absolutely intoxicating the popcorn smelled, neither one of us was hungry, which further convinces me they are adding addictive chemicals to the mix... -

On board! For anyone interested the link below is what piqued my interest https://youtu.be/tIuj-oMN-Fk Then I started considering the benefits of a hydration focused lifestyle on fat loss because of the link below https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4901052/ I prepped by using a water reminder Ive done 20:4(strict) 18:6 &16:8(modified) fasting, I also have a 24hr true fast coming up. I will update my progress here regularly -

Intermittent Fasting

I think if you start it, it'll reach more people, you have more friends and I stripped my profile back to basics (long story) I'm happy to simply participate. I can start measurements more regularly. I have no clue what to call the thread lol -
Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thats exciting!!! Sure show me the thread and I'll totally participate, but people may get tired of seeing tea cups hahaha I will be more specific with everything I consumed and try to give amounts, but weight loss tracking is beyond my control. I only weigh at doctor's appointments (don't own a scale) and I don't have one until end of September (I had a ton during the summer) will my info still help? -

Oh I understand, I'm 10 months post op, my hunger returned long ago, just not to the level of days past. My calories are at Max and have been since early on. Not sure which habits you are referring to however. -
TIPS to get back on track!
GreenTealael replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't know if this helps but while on vacation I eat vacation foods ... things I truly cannot get at home because there is no comparison so when I return there is no possibility of eating it. I also try to drink more often when I think I'm hungry instead of eating. -

Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You're the second person that mentioned stretching out my sleeve. Are you pre-op? I'm not hungry like before surgery and I'm still on a 30/30/30 schedule even within the non fasting hours. I get plenty of fats,I still eat oils and nuts (in lower amounts now) But it's not a possibility for me anyway, I'm not frenzied during eating hours. If anything hunger is reduced and I eat more mindfully. -
Intermittent Fasting
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When I began I was curious if it could reduce/erase my hunger sensation as I think I trained myself to eat more than necessary (my NUT also asked me to lower my cals to continue weight loss) But weight loss is peripheral to me in this. I was really interested in all of the benefits that comes with focusing on hydration. I didn't realize that inflammation reduction, and all the other health benefits were possible. -
