I know right! It has been eye opening now that menus have the calorie count listed. Honestly I would have thought this was the “healthy choice” but most of the “dessert” breakfast items were half the calories.

I’m also team butter and oil, I just measure carefully.

Brunch with my BF 2 eggs w/ potatoes, crimini mushrooms, zucchini, shallots, red peppers, baby spinach, melted mozzarella, herbed goat cheese whole abs whole grain toast. Coming in at a whopping 1310 cals. I estimate I had about 300 cals worth. I’m sure the majority of the hidden cals were from butter or oil while cooking. I can’t help but think of I made this at home it would be 1/4 the calories. But this will be either two or three more meals depending on who finishes it.

Kitchen items that I found necessary were a water bottle with measurements, measuring cups and a food scale.

Who else is watching food prices soar? There’s no rhyme or reasoning either. This is a parfait with fresh peaches because the price on cherries doubled since I last bought them. Also I remember why I stopped eating granola, too much sugar!

It’s definitely tough but you can do it! There is so much variation among practices and even case by case. I was given clearance to eat/drink at the same time after I asked for a definitive answer. For my specific circumstance it was ok because I had a stricture dilated (after VSG to RNY revision) and my anastomosis wasn’t going to stretch any further than they forced it during the procedure. I was told that the concern is sleeve/pouch stretching earlier than it would take to naturally relax.

My son’s girlfriend worked at Starbucks so he developed a coffee addiction (really frappacinos). When he had to pay for drinks and realized the price, he began to rethink his life choices. I could literally see the clockwork turning 😂

I totally agree! Starbucks used to be a workspace for me, but since the pandemic happened and most dine in options were closed, I just make my own drinks and have really adjusted to not paying $6 for a cup of tea.
