Question for those VGSers who had little or no hair loss
GreenTealael replied to Rexcom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you!!! And your stylist (if you use one) can be very gentle, maybe two directional tightening instead of four, etc. -
I'm just happy to see more action in the vegetarian section!!! I love hearing about the proper ways to eat different foods, to maximize their nutritional intake. Very interesting topic!

Being sick after RNY?
GreenTealael replied to AshMarie794's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may not need to if you are getting enough of the other foods and fiber... -
Very true, as long as you and your team are happy you will do great!

Being sick after RNY?
GreenTealael replied to AshMarie794's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a VSGer but Totally invest in pre/probiotics early on. I chose gummies - they were just easier. I think it did help a lot when I look back to when I was on Antibiotics- no yeast infections no crazy digestive issues creaping up (Sometimes i ate plain Greek yogurt too, lots of beans- food for the microbes) -
Confessional - Lets post our cheats/confessions/etc so others can see that we are all human

I ate a piece of regular chocolate that was offered to me. Also I'm all about inner beauty and development of character/personality. So as soon as someone likes my appearance I use the sorting hat and they are (mentally) sent to Slytherin...But I adorn myself to be appreciated... Sigh ... -
What to order when you aren't drinking alcohol
GreenTealael replied to elcee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mocktails... Unsweetened iced tea will look like a Manhattan in the right glass, water with a touch of lemon juice and cherry or olive garnish will look like a Martini in the right glass, water layered with a touch of orange juice and cranberry juice with sugar substitute on the rim will look like a tequila sunrise in the right glass... see where I'm heading? Get to really know the bartenders, tip your servers! (Even if not customary) -

Skin removal before losing my insurance. When did y’all consider it?
GreenTealael replied to Kristin84's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My team considers plastics when you stop losing, usually after your 1 yr follow up with surgeon you ask about it. Why did you cancel your follow up? Do you think didn't lose enough? There are other things to discuss at the follow up like blood work, which is more critical than goal weight... -

GreenTealael replied to katiemarie22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your primary should always know at the very least for emergency purposes Primary follow up visit to reveal procedure and request additional support/testing: 2 week after surgery Blood work every 3 months Nutritionist first time transitioning to a new food phase then as needed Psychologist as needed (only you really know this) Congratulations! -
Can I color my hair?
GreenTealael replied to Lovingmyselfforever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You could color your hair and maybe skate by the hairloss phase unaffected, but if hairloss is a concern for you, you may want to ask about the dye (severity of damage to your hair) to anticipate what you are risking -
Sleeve vs bypass
GreenTealael replied to Medowsweet's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
IMHO If I were you and not really confident (sorry but that line sounds you're already planning for failure) I would go with the bypass, and just forget about a future surgery possibility. Take care of it all now in one shot. -

Question for those VGSers who had little or no hair loss
GreenTealael replied to Rexcom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine are 20 yrs old so I was definitely worried about losing them so I started doing a ton of research and found research about Telogen Effluvium and LLysine so I started supplementing with that very early on. I've only had very very very minor thinning but no losses. I also went super low manipulation for about 8 months. -
