  1. It felt like a Tuesday. No fanfare. I fluctuate (being a girl that has occasional food fun) but I don't stress too hard about it. I set up other goals (not weight based) so that once this was achieved, I had something else to focus on. I need goals apparently. Congrats on your success!

    How did you do it?

I have VSG performed at a regular hospital , but a center for excellence in surgery. The bariatric team included a nutritionist and dietician as well the Surgeon and his wonderful PA. I had an amazing experience. Counting calories started as soon as I was lucid enough to care (1 month post) but strived for water goal immediately. My diet is tailored to me (it varies depending on what I want to accomplish) because I'm notoriously difficult lol and want the best. Safe Journey!

  4. Something tells me this will be a thrilling game of cat and mouse...
  5. Thanks!!! No photos unless he signs a photo release lol so probably not
  6. It seems that the more vegetables you include the less hungry you will be. Stay away from nuts and seeds if you can for a while (high caloric impact) with such a low cal plan At your stage I was at about 600-700 cals. These days 1200 and under to continue losing.

That is fracking amazing, and soooooo quick too!
  9. I always have protein coffee with 16:8 Fasting. I rationalized that months ago lol. Apparently endurance exercises have real world applications I kind of knew this during the summer when I outpaced my fit 24 yr old niece who is used to being chauffeured around by her SO. I blame Europe for my love of walking. I would walk entire cities and be just fine so I decided to do the same at home, weather permitting. I need to look hard at the lingerie to see if I can actually alter it or just take this "L" And I may start running regularly, now that I'm being chased 😎

    To-go lunches

With a microwave and refrigerator your option are endless! Easy Cold foods: cheese and fruit, boiled eggs, greek yogurt parfait, cottage cheese bowls, hummus and vegetable sticks, tuna salad, chicken salad, protein chips and guacamole, nut butters on crispbreads Easy Warm Foods: chili, quiche, kinda creamy chicken and spinach, sorta teriyaki grilled tofu, chickpea stew, zoodle lasagna, ricotta bake, meatballs, various soups and stews Meal prepping really helps especially if you can freeze meals individually and take with you as needed Safe Journey!

    Alcohol Is The Enemy-HELP!

I remember reading or hearing that Alcohol is absorbed differently post op and can become an addiction even if you were not prone to it before. So not as simple as transfer addiction, more like regular addiction and the struggle will be tough. If you can avoid that painful path, please try. Try using the supports your team may be able to provide. Kudos on catching it early. Safe Journey

    Dating

Apparently online and in person the places you frequent are where you meet people. If online dating isn't your thing, try Meetups. I was hesitant but it worked out. This relationship is literally minutes old, but I'm just riding the wave to see where it goes, no pressure.

We should totally have a "yard sale" page on here. One woman's too big is another's just right!!! My secretary has already called dibs on my entire wardrobe....which is funny because she wears a uniform every day to work!!

    Doctor is difficult

Ask your Bariatric team for a referral to a doctor that will perform it (in the time needed, confirm it will work with insurance etc) Find a doctor in the Primary practice you currently attend that will ok it (if there are multiple doctors, perhaps a colleague, that can be seen) Last resort, hound the doctor everyday. EVERYDAY. Even just walk in. Get what you need and want. Safe Journey!

    Pre op proteins

My picks: Expensive: Isopure powder in Dutch Chocolate (sooooo good) Mid range: Premier premade shakes caramel in coffee, peaches & cream in green tea (OMG sooo good) Relatively Inexpensive: EAS carb control in rich chocolate, Premier powder in french vanilla and Cabot unflavored whey protein powder both used for cooking Safe Journey!
