I think my surgery failed
GreenTealael replied to Honeyme's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Don’t give up at all. 35 lbs gone is fantastic especially if it stays gone forever. Also it’s not the end of the road because you may continue to lose if you’re diligent. Track everything you eat and drink consistently to see if you accidentally placed yourself into maintenance calories and adjust from there. And if you ever feel like you need more help, go right back to your surgeon and ask for it. There are more avenues they can suggest if you ask (nutrition counseling, drug therapy, behavioral adjustments, etc) Good luck & cheering you forward -

Honestly I don’t believe there was any actual truffle in this. Made the aioli had truffle oil 🤷🏽♀️ -

Never again. My daughter ordered truffle fries thinking there would be just a few shavings of truffle on top but no. These were aioli covered monsters that no one wanted. They gave me heartburn (for the first time in 3 yrs) -

Tips for getting into the revision mindset
GreenTealael replied to ryan_86's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I’m not a good reference for weighloss after revision because I had the revision when I was at goal but the preop and stress of surgery led me to lose 10-15lbs. (I worked to regain that weight as my surgeon did not want me to lose any additional weight) -

Honey soy glazed crispy tofu w/ rice and green beans. Another vegan meal (not for me) but turned out so well I had to share. The secret was to deep fry the tofu. I haven’t deep fried anything in years. I forget how much oil you need. Ironically it was soybean oil, soybean curd and soy sauce. -

It’s not bad, feels like nothing. Same type of procedure for a (less noisy slightly more open) MRI with contrast. About halfway through they may ask you to drink a meal replacement (it was ensure for me) or administer another med to collect more data.

As much as I hate to admit it, I need to start meal prep again. I think just crockpot meals if I can get away with it. It really takes the guess work out of life. -

Oh no! I only have eyeball recipes. I knew this would come back to bite me. My daughter asked for a measuring cup to make rice yesterday and I explained I don’t measure then taught her how to estimate. My Lazy A$$ Masoor Dal Triple wash the red split lentils. Add water. I think the lentil to water ratio is roughly 1:2. Add any South/East Asian spices you like (garam masala, cumin, tumeric, bay leaf, ginger, kasuri methi… or if lazy like me just a good premade curry blend and basic aromatics) Add in carrots, potatoes or whatever root vegetables you want. High heat until boiling then reduce to a simmer. Cook root vegetables are until tender and lentils are dissolved adding more water or spices as necessary. For thicker stew use less water but cook slower and lower. I hope that works, if not I have to book a flight and prove myself. -

I’m pretty sure a this cost around $3 and 20 mins to make a quart of this. I almost exclusively use Masoor Dal because it’s a quicker cook. -
