Walking as exercise after surgery
GreenTealael replied to Recidivist's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It's the only real exercise I can sustainably perform. So it's my main squeeze... The way I see it is I have to walk in every day life so I'll just lose what I was always going to lose with it (no accelerated weight loss) but if I hit the gym for 18hrs 9 days a week then break my ankle I will gain back the 50 extra lbs I unnaturally lost. That's my lazy humble opinion. BUT strength training will do wonders for the skin/muscle tone and cardio increases endurance. Do what you can, at the pace you can sustain. Safe Journey 🎈 -
I was thinking this time of year is stressful for a lot of people in terms of weight loss and a perfect gift to yourself would be (if you can handle it) to put the scale away. While that's really hard for a lot of people to successfully do, the seasonally appropriate way to put the scale ways to gift wrap it to yourself . Maybe first toss the old batteries - probably need new ones to recalibrate it and gift wrap those too, then gift wrap the scale to open it the appropriate time . You can give yourself the gift of being stressed free about constantly weighing yourself during this time if it causes you anxiety, when you should be really focusing on living life and spending time with your family and friends. If it doesn't this post is not for you. An even bigger gift is when you open the scale you can use the number that reads as your new beginning weight (whether you open it in the New Year's or just after the holiday) and not worry about the ups and downs or the Stalls. Still track and measure foods and hydrate. Run the idea past your teams as usual. Let me know what y'all think! Safe Journey 🎈

Hey Loves! No need to covert kilos or stones to lbs if it's a hardship (I promise I'm smart enough to know how despite my constant bewailings lol) Use the system you are most comfortable with!

Because I love a good trilogy: A day or two ago I met up with a very old friend that had been interested in me for a long time and took a day trip, while Im already on Vacation, and we partied the night away. Spent the (mostly PG13 may rated R) night together. I love him like family. Truly. We've been friends since childhood. I never understood the friend zone until now. He did all the right things, we have amazing chemistry and memories to always fall back on, but like metric to empirial I'm having a really hard time making the conversion. Our friendship will not survive a lack luster tryst, and I'm not the type anyway. I like whole relationships. We've barely spoken since, but this is our regular holding pattern. Concerned he wants more, but knows my heart isn't in it...yet (?) Plus we literally live hundreds of miles away...

Part deux: So doubling back, about a week ago I decided to once again delete my all of online dating profiles. Yes, again. Literally right before I did I get messaged by the seemingly nicest guy. So I tell him I'm deleting because he is super interested and I didn't want him to believe that I was a fake profile. He gave me his number. I took the chance and we began texting as friends. Nothing crazy. But general life friend stuff. He is very very very very interested in me. Problem: He is a widower. With teens. To be continued...

OMG I feel like I owe you guys an update: (First and foremost: Congrats to everyone like me Single AF but still trying. Welcome to all just finding this ridiculous drama filled thread, grab something carb free on plan and stay tuned) Last guy i went on two dates with who obsessed over Exes, stopped texting me but I was really busy and didn't actually notice until he just text me twice in one day saying hi, then I guess it's over... I'm like WTF, when did it start. I'm too busy for that nonsense so I never responded. He seems needy to he honest and all of my charitable causes are for well water projects in Africa.
