I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____
GreenTealael replied to KCgirl061's topic in The Lounge
I didn'tο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώ realizeο»Ώο»Ώ when I ο»Ώlostο»Ώ weight ο»Ώο»Ώthat ο»Ώ________ο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώ I would be hungry. Like really hungry... because I am And like a normal weight person, I don't have to feel ashamed about it. (I think we are often conditioned to feel shame about eating as if you shouldn't need to. If we are overweight, obviously we've had enough for a lifetime and real hunger isn't a real thing for us, we only emotionally eat, but no one else is treated this way. Other people eat when emotional and hungry as well. It *feels* like a prejudice only we as a population face.) -
When did you reach your goal weight?
GreenTealael replied to egs93's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I set a random goal for myself and met it in Jan 2019 (so 14 months post op but I bounce up and down a lot... Maintenance is crazy different than losing), I however met my Surgeons goal for me by 1 yr post op. They were satisfied so I was satified. I felt surprised actually that mission was accomplished. -

What Are the Surgeons Telling Their Patients?
GreenTealael replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Advice varies so much between practices. This may work for him. Only time may tell. But at least his advice came from his surgeons and he can go right back to them for help. Some people are outliers, they will lose and keep it off forever no matter what they eat (I've seen it) others are on the opposite end of the spectrum and will struggle for dear life no matter how closely they work with their Team. I was told not to over indulge in rice, bread and pasta as they were not beneficial in nutrition comparative to other foods i could be eating like vegetables. But i was also allowed to eat what i wanted on vacation (within reason) because they didn't want me deprived in any way. -
βHappy Sunday Morning β Its raining and cloudy in my part of the world but you know the new adage May showers bring June flowers π B-Side Question: Is there a point in the day/week/month when you are truly hungrier? (For me its the week before my cycle)

πΌAGREEDπΌ Sorry you are having a rough time. You have to get to your Team ASAP. It's critical now especially if its causing breakdowns. Get Well Soon π

Good Morning Team π B-Side Question: Do you prefer home or Salon Mani/Pedi? This is important stuff π

Mega ultra catch up π: May 7-17: I worked up a sweat on the 7th stressing out over small things, does that count ? π© I tailored a few items in the 8th so I'll count that as crafting On the 9th and 10th prayer (which involves much movement) will go towards my yoga and meditation π No time to try a puzzle on the 11th so i will circle back around to this one But on the 12th i was at a wedding so mudic was abundant and i was listening β On the 13th oddly enough i was at a museum exhibit on animals so I'm counting it No cooking on the 14th, sick as a dog π Im listening to a new audible One Second After so i will count that for the 15th and 16th I cleared out every junk draw on the 17th, major victory π And 18: Making physical contact by holding hands while taking a walk today π

Woke up ready to make a drink that required Torani Sugar Free Syrup , don't know why but I remembered it having sucralose. wrong. Acesulfame potassium. tossed it. Chose Starbucks Sugar Free Syrup instead which does have sucralose, but then started to wonder about all artificial sweeteners, again. Sigh. Slippery slope. Tossing them all. Just a small amount of info below (a video that references research and journals, and a journal reviewing research) for anyone who would like it and if you conduct any research, please add it for others to see. And by all means add info to the contrary if you find that also. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3772345/?source=purehealth

Plenty of people choose to keep it private (like other medical information you don't tell)

Hijacking a Group Session
GreenTealael replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Same thing happened to one of my group meetings... Was the worst one I ever went to, same story a person who regained except they did not lose it ... yet. Sometimes I think there should be the option to split off into subcategories for in person meetings too: one table for newbies, one for struggling post surgery, one for perfect stories (which seems to annoy everyone else) and definitely one for regain, etc etc Dont let her steal your mojo - Go back anyway and moderate the **** out of that meeting π
