Please help me use myfitnesspal. Please?
GreenTealael replied to polly...'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi! Everyone's plan is very diverse but some rules for WLS patients given to us by our various Teams are: Protein: 60 g- 100g Fiber: 20g Carbs: under 50 g for Ketosis (but some like to go a low as possible) Fat: under 40 g (but some like to go a low as possible to prevent gallbladder issues) You can save foods/ recipes in MFP so they are available for you to use often as entries. Try to get the initial entry spot on so yoy won't have to fix it later. It can be created under my foods, meals, recipes or simply use the most recent list You can also enter under multu add instead of one at a time once you have a list going, this really saves time. Check out all the settings of MFP especially the goals menu & Dont forget to log your water intake too! πYou've got this, congratulations for being aware enough to seek info and ask for helpπ -

Sugar begets Sugar...π But seriously sugar is additive You may need to find the complex carbohydrate alternatives that suit your lifestyle. This is early in the game but consider long-term lifestyle. Have you ever tried: Wheat berries, barley, bulgar in salads and soups, hummus, quinoa, falafel, beans, crispy broad bean snacks or pure puffed spelt/rice as cereal, homemade alternative (almond coconut quinoa spelt kamut) flours flatbreads, crispbreads, sprouted grain loaves, etc... Or if you really can't incorporate complex carbohydrates what about fats: pure nut butters, oils for cooking/dressings (I actually use that coconut oil for my hair/skinπ), avocado, etc... Hoping you find the balance π

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
GreenTealael replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
What are the ingredients? Usually the recommended targets per protein shake for wls patients are : less than 200 cals,15g + proteins, less than 6g sugars, varying info on fats... Good luck!π -

FELL OFF THE WAGON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 10 MONTHS
GreenTealael replied to VIKING 0424's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
IMHO I don't like the phrase of On/Off the Wagon for the WLS community. It rubs me the wrong way. I guess to me there's just a stones throw association with someone stating we get a free ride or are coasting along & we do not ... a lot of us work hard. Really hard. If perfection is not realistic maybe strive for sustainability. But I honestly believe vigilance will help more than guilt. Congrats on your success so far. Good Luck
