Considering my journey so far, I had quite a few dramatic moments (hope I've hid them well)... The most dramatic moment was during pre surgery - prepping my Green Binder, where all the instructions of how to handle my legacy were placed (from funeral prep to future weddings of my children) Sooooo dramatic, yes but I thought it was on tempo then. What was your most dramatic moment during this journey? It doesn't have to be serious, it can be comical too.

Yes I'm still in disbelief and waiting for something to halt the process but so far... It's going off without a hitch π

The phrases that strikes fear in the heart of all bariatric folks: OUT. OF. ORDER CLOSED. FOR. MAINTENANCE. NO. PUBLIC. RESTROOMS. ππππππππππππππππππππ FREE. DONUT. DAY.

I remember driving about 5 days after surgery out of necessity (It was a very short distance about 5 -10mins) I did not enjoy it. I drove an SUV & had a tough time getting in and out. I guess it depends on a number of factors but definitely ask your Team and go with your gut.

Oh man! Prayers up ! Get well soon π -
I'm certain that I will have many many many more dramatic moments to come now that my impending RNY conversion surgery is just a few days away but here's the latest: +Buying personalized engraved name bracelets/necklaces for each of my children (with the correct spelling of their names on them) before surgery not so they can be stylish Kings & Queens of 1995 π but just in case someone thought they were gonna try to abduct my youths, I (or anyone) would know at least one thing they are always wearing... #thankslifetime +Actively going to the bank just to create a Totten trust to leave my shekels to my children ππ I really need to stop Adulting for this week πππππππππππππππππππππ

πΌπΌπΌπΌ Everyone is spot on πΌπΌπΌπΌ Additional things to consider: Who exactly is saying it's a waste of time? What evidence is provided? (You can't get positive feed back from negative/biased sources) Why are you worried you chose the wrong surgery? (Complications can happen with any surgery, some cannot be avoided despite the best preparations) A conversion conversation is best between you and your surgeon. IMHO It should also be medically necessary not fear based since you are only 2 weeks post op. Get Well Soon & Good luck π

Don't forget : Protein intake, Greenhouse gas emissions, whaling industry, number of current political candidates Γ 3.14, tears cried per child Γ· children on earth, red tide, free donuts in the office, late night pharmacy trips, migration patterns of caribou, perfume sample sprayers, pay equality demonstrations, Retrograde motion of Mars and most of all final release date of John Wick 4 πππππππππππππππππππππ

I would suggest meeting with a few Bariatric Surgical teams and discussing the lapband. They are not widely performed anymore because of migration, erosion, herniation and slippage issues. They are mostly removed these days. You can also work with dieticians and endocrinologist to get your weight under control. Good luck π

πππππππππππππππππππππ πππππππππππππππππππππ 20 MONTHS POST OP & MY BIRTHDAY IS IN JULY πππππππππππππππππππππ πππππππππππππππππππππ β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€157 lbs BMI 27β€β€β€β€β€β€β€β€ WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL updates: I need to be revised to RNY for GERD, etc. Through extensive testing my issue was found to be *mechanical* in nature. Without disclosing too much personal medical information all I will say is would need to continue with mutiple invasive treatments over an extended period of time plus meds w/ a surgical procedure for an aux related issue or fix it all at one time with one procedure. Y'all know what I'm gonna choose, right? Yeah... Other than that it's a burden lifted to have relief within my grasp. Surgery is scheduled for 7/15 barring any complications/surprises I'm already approved by insurance and I'm really shocked/dismayed because it took them just 2 lousy days... I was hoping my case wasn't that serious and I was just being dramatic/hypochondriac. But that approval coming back so fast really has opened my eyes. I should have gone in for this consult sooner maybe? Saved my summer? Whatevs. Already in the dreaded 2 week preop diet. No. Words. Dante's unexplained layer of hell. Reserved for people who met goal but still need to shrink their livers πππππππππππ but enough whining. Here are lifestyle pics and pics of what I enjoyed while I could... Because liquids for quite a while *disclaimer: + I NEVER eat sauce + I π Kale (fight me) +All Starbucks cups are homemade teas/protein shakes +I do smile more often but not usually without cause because I'm conscious of preventing wrinkles πππππππππππππππππππππ

πΌAGREEDπΌ This is a Very common concern. In fact I just asked one of my new surgeons last night at a seminar (I'm being converted to RNY) about it because I wanted to get info again for everyone. He said he almost never see it with the patients of any of his various surgeries (VSG,RNY,DS &SIPS) who follow the protocol of the vitamins and protein strictly. He also said hes seen it (usually) occurs between 5-8 months post op and never beyond that if the patient is properly nourished. He recommended adding biotin as extra support. I did a bit of extra curricula research almost 2 years ago now during prep for VSG and came across med journals using LLysine (amino acid) as a supplement for halting hairloss. So I'm doing it, again... Talk to your team π
