    Thought rollercoaster ...

Quite unfortunately at very high BMIs, people are racing the clock. Physicians will even sometimes give to a timeline for XYZ (e.g. if you don't reduce your weight by 20% next year you will be prediabetic/hypertensive,etc) If you think the delay will help you mentally & health wise, sure. Talk to your Surgeon/Team about it. But if it will not and you're resolved to have surgery anyway, the delay is just a delay. You may even have to start over for insurance/surgeon requirements, gain and increase your comorbidities further. After my intial sign on with my surgeon I took a 3 month summer vacation where I wondered if I actually needed surgery or if I could follow the dieticians plan and do it on my own. I was ~245 at the start but by the end I was ~253. I was strictly following the plan but gained anyway. Likely because I had an increased stomach capacity (stretched) over time which I couldn't escape from. Under my former conditions, I would always be able to eat more than normal even if it was healthy food. I moved forward with surgery as planned in light of that revelation. The choice is *alway always always* yours on if/when to move forward. You will know when its the right time. Personally I would just rethink the plan if it sets you back further Good Luck πŸ’œ

    Is this normal?

Your concerns and feelings are completely normal . A lot of people feel this way but it usually gets better with time and practice. Good Luck πŸ’œ

Eating with the family post surgery.

I've also eaten with family & friends early out. I would either pick a meal that was in line with my new lifestyle and (force them to eat it with me πŸ˜‚) share with them or simply drink instead of eating if I couldn't find anything. I had a lot of lettuce wrapped veggie or turkey burgers, epic salads or vegetable soups/turkey chili (Occasionally I only ordered dessert still sharing it with others, but thats a radical idea & not for everyone) Further out it became a lot easier because I was fully practiced in my new lifestyle. I ordered items that were protein forward and added sides I knew others would enjoy. I almost never finished my food alone because I either couldn't or planned to shared it all along. If you plan to change your mind and go out with your family for meals occasionally, plan ahead so you don't feel lost/off plan/out of control. Plenty of places are now offering low carb alternatives/lighter fare/small plates Good Luck πŸ’œ

  12. Pose the question directly to your surgeon. He may know some info on if Fasting would exacerbate your GERD/help promote healing. I would start there because first and foremost protect the possibility of this new surgery working well & lasting a lifetime.

  14. Your fasting time is up to you/your lifestyle but people usually find fasting late evening- overnight- into the late morning easiest because youre sleeping most of those hours and not focused on any activities/food BUT Beginning IF so early after your surgery (for anyone really) maybe tricky Here are a few questions that may help guide you to some answers? (Others please chime in/correct me if I'm wrong) 1. What were the reasons for your revision? *Poor habits that lead to regain: no, not yet. You may need fix this aspect first (You may not need to use IF for weightloss at all if this is resolved πŸ’œ) - go by your Team's plan first then discuss when it no longer works/weightloss slows/stops *GERD and you're at goal: Maybe if you are looking for inflammation reduction - discuss with team first and go slow *Other: discuss with Team first 2. Do have significant regain to lose? *Yes: Go by your Teams plan first then try IF when it doesn't work anymore (under their supervision of course) *No: you may lose more than you want so use mildly 3. Are you getting all of your nutrient/macros/cals in easily/too easily? *No: I wouldn't try yet- it may just make it harder. *Yes: If you over eating, go back to just dense proteins only for a bit to see if it helps, if not discuss with your Team the prospects if IF for hunger reduction/calorie reduction Hope that helps πŸ’œ

    ❀My Revision Story❀

πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” Updates πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” 24 days post op & doing pretty well. Lots of vitamins in my routine. I also realized that i need to open my PPI and swallow the beads as opposed to taking the capsule whole otherwise I get strong reflux like symptoms late in the evening. I don't think it GERD returning but post op I was placed on the PPI for 3 additional months to calm things down the evaluate. Also figuring out my new food intolerances and so far just heavy cream based soups (will not try again) As far a diet i am progressing on schedule but I have had beans and tubers which is not on my NUT plan. She failed to take into consideration: 1. I'm already at goal (she wanted me to eat pure protein nothing else πŸ˜’) 2. I have prior protein intolerances so they need to be rotated in/out or I get constipation/aversion 3. She hasn't dealt with a revision patient that was already at goal, didn't have regain So I kindly injected the food in the appropriate stages that I remembered from VSG πŸ˜‚ (yup I still have my packet almost 2 yrs later) ⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰TMI TIME ⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰ *squeamish please exit stage left* At one point last week I experienced terrible constipation from eating only/too much protein and called my team to confirm the plan. I was told to increase the stool softener and laxative until it resolved. If that didn't work I could use MOM or an enema. I had to use all of them to fix it 😭. But it worked and I have been regular ever since This week was much better, likely from the natural fiber balancing out the protein plus increased SS/L, however today...diarrhea. No good reason except my cycle is approaching. Oh Joy. This has reduced my weight to 150lbs. I just need to make certain this isnt a stomach flu or lasting thing as I have a Wedding next week But so far so good πŸ’œ

    Protein bars

Great value (more like candy bars with protein 😁)
  20. *Usually* you only eat within your window and drink cal free items outside of it. That's the hardcore approach. So how you divide up your meals are totally up to you (e.g. BF 12noon, L 3pm, D= 6pm or BF= 11am, L= 2pm, D=5pm) Sometimes you may miss a meal because you're not hungry (dare to dream) But WLS folk , especially early on, strive to hit the right amount of protein macros. (I didnt care so much as i could easily get it all from food if I wanted) Some YT Gurus also question if timing matters But totally choose a window that works well with your life otherwise it will be hard to sustain. Here are a few helpful videos (about timing of meals and if it matters) These three put out a lot of material so check out their other stuff too
