Maybe one of the Admin will help: Flag it and add the comment wrong thread You only have a 2 hr window to edit anything on this site. After that it remains forever so careful what you decide to share π

When I cut out coffee, it's usually cold turkey but I use tasty close alternatives Here are my favorites: The Postum is the superior one but usually quite hard to find. Ive drank it since childhood & the company stopped producing it about a decade ago , but i found links on Amazon so maybe they started again. Cafix is my runner up. Good Luck π

Pains after surgery

Contact your Surgeon/Team immediately. It's the weekend but usually most places have oncall lines to leave urgent messages. -
Travel during purΓ©e stage
GreenTealael replied to kbee88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things to have with you: cottage cheese, yogurts, soft cheese, broth cubes, eggs (microwaved eggs are easy and quick!) Eating out: Hummus plates minus the pitas etc (if allowed) always eggs (if tolerated), yogurt, smooth soups, etc. Take a strong look at you plan then double check by calling you NUT/Team to see exactly all the variation of foods you can nave at thos stage tell them you are traveling for work and NEED suggestions. Good Luck π -
You could try broth with And that seaweed you mentioned will come in handy later in making your own rice-less sushi

β€My Revision Storyβ€
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
They may request stronger or more frequent vitamin use but I take the same amount of vitamins as with VSG. There are plenty of one a day options sold in the BariatricPal store. Once my current vitamins are finished then I'm getting some that I sampled. I was serious about taking all of the vitamins back then because i was deficient in a few things before VSG so it became a routine. Vitamin time for me is vitamin time for everyone. I will need to have labs drawn to determine my current levels and adjust from there. I will report on it in about 3 weeks. I was my goal weight ~155lbs prior to revision. What issues are you having & what is the reason for your revision? -

Still maintaining in the low 150s. (149 this morning but I think its dehydration weight so I'm calling 150lbs) Nut butter was helping my weight stabilize or so I though (now I think maybe I was stalled) I'm not remotely interested in it this week, so we're on a break. I wish we could naturally spot target fat loss. There are areas I don't want to disappear (my A$$) and places i wish would (my stomach) Oh well... We will see how this goes

Thought rollercoaster ...
GreenTealael replied to Zemi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Quite unfortunately at very high BMIs, people are racing the clock. Physicians will even sometimes give to a timeline for XYZ (e.g. if you don't reduce your weight by 20% next year you will be prediabetic/hypertensive,etc) If you think the delay will help you mentally & health wise, sure. Talk to your Surgeon/Team about it. But if it will not and you're resolved to have surgery anyway, the delay is just a delay. You may even have to start over for insurance/surgeon requirements, gain and increase your comorbidities further. After my intial sign on with my surgeon I took a 3 month summer vacation where I wondered if I actually needed surgery or if I could follow the dieticians plan and do it on my own. I was ~245 at the start but by the end I was ~253. I was strictly following the plan but gained anyway. Likely because I had an increased stomach capacity (stretched) over time which I couldn't escape from. Under my former conditions, I would always be able to eat more than normal even if it was healthy food. I moved forward with surgery as planned in light of that revelation. The choice is *alway always always* yours on if/when to move forward. You will know when its the right time. Personally I would just rethink the plan if it sets you back further Good Luck π -
Your concerns and feelings are completely normal . A lot of people feel this way but it usually gets better with time and practice. Good Luck π

Eating with the family post surgery.
GreenTealael replied to Beatsalad's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've also eaten with family & friends early out. I would either pick a meal that was in line with my new lifestyle and (force them to eat it with me π) share with them or simply drink instead of eating if I couldn't find anything. I had a lot of lettuce wrapped veggie or turkey burgers, epic salads or vegetable soups/turkey chili (Occasionally I only ordered dessert still sharing it with others, but thats a radical idea & not for everyone) Further out it became a lot easier because I was fully practiced in my new lifestyle. I ordered items that were protein forward and added sides I knew others would enjoy. I almost never finished my food alone because I either couldn't or planned to shared it all along. If you plan to change your mind and go out with your family for meals occasionally, plan ahead so you don't feel lost/off plan/out of control. Plenty of places are now offering low carb alternatives/lighter fare/small plates Good Luck π -
