My bypass is 130 (cm ?) in length (but I'm a conversion from VSG)

Can you call the hospital/center where you had surgery to see of there is someone oncall who can guide you/answer your questions? They may direct you to the ER anyway. ERs are for true emergencies and you may get less thorough attention than you need if they are in a rush/overburdened. (I personally would go to the ER if I had about 8 hrs to spare 😂)

Usually if there are no complications: follow up appts happens in the 6th, 9th,12th (maybe 18th) month then usually yearly. In my experience the doctor visits are nearly as expensive as the labs if you need to do it out of pocket. That's when you'll likely need/want to shop around for the best price Good Luck 💚

Would it be possible to postpone surgery until after the deployment? It is *possible* (but highly unpredictable as you will have no clue what state you'll be in post op) I've taken long rides immediately after surgery but they NEEDED to be broken into segments to prevent the development of blood clots. Also, I was absolutely exhausted and i wasn't even driving. Public bathroom breaks were fraught with peril. If you must: carry your protein drinks with you chilled along with meds, vitamins, water etc... Try to make them a priority especially hydration. Good Luck 💚 and thank him, for us, for his service

GERD sucks. I didn't have to wait long for mine either because it was for GERD not regain. If diet issues were also behind regain the classes may help reinforce new/ better habits so it may be worth if you had to complete them. Good Luck 💚
