I was told never by several surgeons (I've had the pleasure of being treated/seeing more than one 😳) with varing reasons why. Discomfort came up every time. IDK. A lot of us still drink soda/carbonated waters with little problem, I do not. One run in with cit mag nearly took me out the game, enough for me to avoid carbonation indefinitely. As always ask your surgeon, again.

LOL my BF caught a pic of me while talking a pic of his food ( I'm rubbing off on him 😅) Hard to see but : All vegetarian meal collaboration 👏 BF heated convenience boxed foods / I customized them 😍- partially homemade eggplant parmesan (Trader Joe's), jazzed up Birdseye protein vegetable mix, crispy fish fillets, homemade cornbread+protein I look miserable because I was 😅 - headache from weather- snowing/ very cold/ etc.

*Pehaps not too much, but too quickly* Liquid mostly flows unrestricted through the stomach. However I was told by my team that it may be possible to train your stomach to empty too quickly by putting strain on the pyloric sphincter if constantly drinking high volumes quickly. (maybe because there isnt a lot of space to hold contents like before especially when the greater curvature removed like in VSG but obviously I'm not a Dr so this is only conjecture) 🔽Pics of anatomy added for reference🔽 *Ask your own surgeon about their thoughts/recommendations* Small sips with pauses in between was apart of my initial instructions and may prevent this. If you're easily getting all of your hydration needs met in a small window of time, *perhaps* slow down a bit and see if that makes a difference. Good Luck 💚

Drink your protein shakes for nutrition and stay in constant communication with your surgeon. The can prescribed anti nausea meds. Not sure if they explained it but sometimes it takes several dilatations to resolve a stricture. Good Luck 💚

Hey Love ❤ I orginally had VSG for IIH (PC). My symptoms were lessened initially but eventually returned. HOWEVER Don't be discouraged ❤ because everyone is very different and the disorder is idiopathic- so no one really knows the mechanisms that cause it, just the symptoms and tips on how to alleviate it. What didnt work for someone else may work very well for you. Very important to note: Your overall health will be improved dramatically even if the headaches don't stop completely and being at a lower weight will make any future surgeries you may choose/need (shunt) so much safer.
