Anyone wearing anytype of scarfs, wraps, pashminas, hijabs, geles, etc? (I bought a bucket load of silk scarfs in Barcelona, Rome & Paris a while back and I love them so much they barely see the light of day because I'm afraid to ruin them ๐)

I agree that we need to be our own healthcare advocates. Question: Are your consults done in private? (I know if I was taking meds for a disease I didn't want to discuss or that carries social stigmas {like mental illnesses or STDs} and my pharmacist wanted me to I explain why I'm taking certain meds especially within earshot of others... I would be irate, I value privacy) Now asking if I had any questions about my meds feels different (which is what I have experienced)

Oh, Just Another Plastics Story
GreenTealael replied to GreenTealael's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
2 weeks+ update: Still very swollen from the TT, but I'm being super patient because I'm super satisfied with the breast lift outcome. From everything I'm reading and looking at on the internet, after 3-4 months your true results will show because most of the swelling should subside. My faja is far too tight most days to put on so I'm mostly using other compression garments and the binder. I wore the faja out the other day and its fine for standing etc but nothing else. I want it off ASAP. But I think its because my swelling levels fluctuate. Weight is also fluctuating up and down depending on swelling, yesterday I was 155lbs and today 151lbs I've been off all pain meds for quite a while but last night I was so sore and itchy that I needed a Tylenol PM. I believe the itching is the regeneration of... fascia? nerves? whatever. Its hella annoying ๐ I have an area where I prematurely broke my stitches on the side and I can tell I'm going to need to work hard to have that scar disappear but I already started using silicone scar tape and will care for it diligently. Anyone have tips send them my way! I now have strong sensation on both nipples, hooray! I'm thoroughly enjoying the shape and size of the new breast โค Blurry pics attached ๐ -

Effect on families
GreenTealael replied to H8thissurgery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These post are permanent and the Internet never forgets... I'm still not sure who exactly this cautionary tale is for? Spouses of patients? Surely not the patients here who knowing their pitfalls decide to work on them. have done their research and rigorously pass all evaluations. We. Are. Prepared. Frankly, if your spouse had heart or knee surgery with complications and fell into the well of addiction and depression, you likely would not be on forums for that type of support saying you hate cardiothoracic or orthopaedic surgery. Perhaps the better cautionary tales : Life is like castles built in the sand You never truly know someone Divorce is possible Otherwise your monologues are falling on deaf, but well informed, ears good day. -

To sleeve or not to sleeve, that is the question!

Yes only a surgeon will be able to advise. Revisions are based on other factors besides weight. -

Tools are often necessary for maintenance as well (you don't need to be currently building a new house to justify the need to own a hammer) -

To sleeve or not to sleeve, that is the question!
GreenTealael replied to curvee gรชne rosa's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
A Surgeon will advise you properly but most will not sleeve a person with reflux, they may suggest bypass instead. Although the bypass is not the only way to cure GERD, it's one of the only trusted WLS performed to do it Good Luck โค๏ธ =========================== "To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To dieโto sleep, No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dreamโay, there's the rub: For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pauseโthere's the respect That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, Th'oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of dispriz'd love, the law's delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of th'unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovere'd country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pitch and moment With this regard their currents turn awry And lose the name of action." - Hamlet, Act III Scene I (I had to do it for the Culture) -

Yeah I knew I was getting plastics, and although my plan was rather quickly executed, I thought i had everything planned. Well I didn't think about life after plastics too much. So now I'm stuck with 12 brand new non returnable bras I never wore in my former size and a b2ery patient BF who *may* want to have relations (with me) sometime in the near future... Welcome to the party

How do I get off the omeprazole after 8 months?
GreenTealael replied to Queen Eileen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your surgeon about your symptoms and form a safe plan. Developing GERD is a know possible side effect of VSG. Good Luck ๐
