Every once in a while someone will create a thread about experiencing more illnesses (common colds, flu, etc) after WLS (some are chronic cases or occur many years later) Naturally no one believes there is any correlation. A quick video to give a little insight on possible reasons why and what to ask your physicians about if this is happening to you As always, do your own research & keep your physicians in the loop. Hope it helps someone search for alternate answers

Not enough weight for surgery
GreenTealael replied to Slimmy-mommeee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! You may not feel heavy enough but you are unhealthy enough according to your own admission and insurance approval. Perhaps think about what set of circumstances would make you feel comfortable to deem surgery a necessity. Also think about when you anticipate those things to occur. Then consider all of that valuable time & health wasted coming to terms with your decision instead of taking action to prevent further issues. Good Luck 🌈 -

It's the second Wednesday of the month so I could go for a spontaneous mood swing right about now How about it's winter and I'm cold... Why Meeeeee Or the end of Logan was far too much to handle when the cross was repositioned as an X... the flood gates opened And my favorite my eyebrows are "sisters" and not "twins"...

I wonder if its culturally a NY thing? (Katz deli pictured) If you try it, have it sliced very thin and by preference I always cook and eat it hot -
For those who have lost 100+ pounds
GreenTealael replied to lbugher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't experience pain while overweight. None that i can remember. However the amount of things I can casually do now is astounding. I run (when needed) and rarely lose my breath, walk endlessly without a need for breaks, jumped rope, go up & down stairs like its nothing, any seat on a flight will do, random hiking trips, etc (but I gave up formal exercise - health reasons 😂) Good Luck 🌈 -
Sleeve complications possible revision to bypass
GreenTealael replied to Ttyo's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I develop stricture and torsion of the stomach also. I didn't fancy the idea of going in for a dilatation every 6 weeks. So i didn't even think of it as a viable option, nor did I let anyone persuade me into "giving it a try". Nah. I chose conversion and 1 week later had it done. Conversion to RNY resolved the issues completely. I was given lovanox shots immediately after surgery so not sure why you have to stop them. Good Luck 🌈 -

Yes it is! I always said I knew I was never going to back out of surgery after the barium swallow test because it was so terrible for me If I could endure and complete that, everything else would be easy as pie 😂

could you eat and drink normal after bypass revision
GreenTealael replied to bikerchick519's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Nearly the same as with my VSG, but every case will be different because specific revision techniques will vary surgeon to surgeon.
