    Do you miss food?

TBH fasting (or intermittent fasting) is only anorexia adjacent if someone has anorexia. Otherwise its mainly portion/time controlled eating But to answer your question IMHO plenty folks (without eating disorders) still eat plenty of food, indulge within reason, pare back when necessary and are satisfied Tangentially, I cannot speak to what it would be like for someone with bingeing, bulimia or anorexia... But if those are not things you experience then don't worry about what it would be like for someone experiencing that like your Mom. She will only be able to view it from her perspective. Good Luck ❤

    Forced to do Bypass

I understand. I was suggesting that mentally its going to be challenging (but not impossible)since you already experience the shift from greater to lesser restriction & now that the training wheels of restriction is gone, you may have to move forward to another form of structure to continue being successful very best luck to you ❤

The status updates don't seem to get much attention. Is there a reason you didn't make a thread out of it?

I didn't want to start a thread because there seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding this particular doctor and I don't totally endorse him or his views... But even a broken clock is right twice a day 😂

I think I will add it to the maintenance thread

I know. I don't agree with him in quite a few things. However, I don't agree with other WLS surgeons on youtube on everything they say. Weiner and Rutledge have good videos out there as well but I don't agree with everything as well.

With this maintenance thing -  in the end he talks about framing in a way. Reframe your thoughts and the world will change.

LOL about the broken clock. 🤣

    Forced to do Bypass

IMHO don't chase restriction or fullness. Please set up systems like an exercise routine & sustainable healthy diet (well within your Surgeon's caloric/macro limits) and live it. If you can't do it long term it probably won't work for you.

Just guessing but I always assumed its the different modalities of caloric restrictions that keep the numbers nearly the same but I think no one really knows because some people's BMRs seem reset to a higher threshold while others have it lowered. I honestly feel sometimes that these revisions are like a third category of WLS with totally different expectations, outcomes, complications etc. than a virgin surgery. But I also think it's not across the board as a rule that it will be different. But I have encountered a few people that have noticed it feels/works different than what they are used to from their initial surgery. Also unless someone had a VSG first they likely do not know how that type of restriction feels compared to an initial RNY restriction. I don't have a clue what a virgin RNY is like but I know what a virgin VSG converted to RNY is like (to me) and that SUPER strong restriction disappeared (but its not an issue for me because I didn't need to lose more weight or count on it for controlling meal size) so I can see how it would be worrisome if someone was counting on it.

🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔 Updates: Plastic surgery adventures & Love in time of Corona I decided to have plastics in Jan 2020 and K (#Bumblebae) came along for support. This went surprisingly well. Most likely because i didn't make him my main care giver and i recovered VERY quickly so it was low pressure. We are both enjoying my new body now but for the first 6 weeks post op i wasn't allow to do anything strenuous and we honored that rule completely. I now suddenly understand how easy it can be to forget certain parts of a relationship when you are busy, stressed or unwell. NEVER letting that happen EVER again. Fast forward to March... SARS-COV 2. The world was basically put in house arrest and with just cause. I don't know how everyone else is managing with their partners but quarantine life has been challenging. You don't realize how social you are until you can't be anymore. All the fear and uncertainty swarming can be just as contagious as this nightmare virus. After a super serious discussion about the mental toll all of this is taking on us individually, we agreed to step back from the bombardment of the news and focus inward again. I think we are going to enjoy this solitude after all.❤ I hope everyone else is staying safe and healthy

  14. I have seen multiple people lose large regains years after surgery. The only thing I noticed that made any real difference was that they said really ready to make lasting changes this time. You can totally do it! Good Luck

VSG to RNY facts some may not know about prior conversion: + PPI may still be necessary for quite awhile for some + Weight loss may be SLOW, weight may remain the same (maintenance) and some people can even gain + Pyloric valve is not preserved/used as with VSG so full feeling may not be the same as previously + You can still succeed by sticking to the plan you and your team come up with Good Luck ❤

I tried the night manager and didn't like Hiddleston 😥. Also being a long time Laurie fan, I thought I could stick out but I folded. Coleman is great in everything ❤
