There is a plethora of reasons for gaining weight prior to metabolic surgery (WLS) but from my experience, IMHO for those of us on the otherside , the usual suspect is a caloric surplus compared to your needs for your new BMR Hopefully other's who have insight will chime in Good Luck ! -
