  1. I was sleeved 12/4/17. I've lost 55lbs post surgery.(18lbs preop from highest weight) I have about 25lbs I'd like to lose but my surgeon said if I didnt lose another pound he would be happy with me. I am still going to try anyway to lose the last bit of weight anyway. I am living my best life this summer. Wearing a bathing suit in public doesn't scare me anymore.
  2. I eat a bite or two of leftover dinner to coat my stomach. I take pills with a sip of water or two. As long as you don't eat a ton of food( by that I mean a meal) and try to take pills and water on top of it you should be fine.

    3 months post op success

Congrats!! You look amazing... and I know you have to feel amazing as well!!
  4. Yes, you are correct in that most of us do the protein shake for breakfast. I am 6 months out at this point. I mix mine with coffee in the a.m. I feel like my stomach is smallest in the morning so actual foods is a turn off because I get stuffed after 2 bites. Protein coffee fills me up gradually from 6 am to 7 am and lets me hit half of my protein goals for the day early on. Lunch and dinner are usually the same meal because I like to meal prep in the beginning of the week to relieve the Whats for lunch/dinner decisions. I don't mind eating the same thing all week. I've found this amazing recipe for ground turkey and green beans that I eat 2 weeks out of the month. It's spicy, filling and I haven't gotten tired of it. I also eat this shrimp and broccoli meal in rotation. Now that it is getting warmer out I will use my grill to do some chicken and veggies for the week. Search pinterest for some keto inspired meals. I don't do full keto but the recipes are great inspiration.

    My sleeve broken??

Im 5.5 months out and need to make good food choices every day. The hunger is coming back finally. I didn't miss it while it was gone. The sleeve is a tool. It is up to you to decide to use it. You just need to go back to basics and eat protein and veggies. If you are struggling with willpower then maybe talking to therapist to figure out your food issues could be a good thing. You can do this. Don't let food control you.

    Sleeping on my side

They let me sleep on my side in hospital. I didnt have any drains or anything. As long as I was comfortable they didnt care how I slept. Now of course since Ive lost a ton of weight sleeping on my side is uncomfortable without my fat cushioning my ribcage.

    Incision Pain

It will get easier. I am 3 months out and I still sometimes get weird twinges of feeling around my incision sites.

    4 months out

You look awesome! As for the food pictures they look gooood and I don't find them insensitive or naughty at all. After a while we will have to learn to eat what we want in moderation. So enjoy food! and enjoy your new body too

    Any issues with meat?

Yes .. steak is so heavy on the stomach no matter how much I chew chew chew. I agree that seafood is a more pleasant for the tummy. I do eat chicken and pork but they aren't as bad as steak feels.
  11. I wouldn't worry about it. I am surprised they didn't measure you first visit. They gave me an inch and I made them remeasure me with my shoes off lol. I don't think they measured my height day of surgery just my weight so I think I would just leave it be.
  12. I want to say 9. My surgery was great no complications but I woke up vomiting from the tube ( at least that's what I heard the nurses say in my haze as I was spewing foam.) I also had a bad reaction to the morphine they kept pumping into me all day after surgery. It made me dry heave and have stomach spasms that was so painful. After they figured out morphine was a no no at midnight I was 100% changed woman. I got up and walked around which release my gas pressure in my shoulder etc. My recovery went amazing after that .. every day getting better and better. If it wasn't for the issues after surgery that first day I swear it probably would have been a breeze.

    Slow WL

My surgeon seemed disappointed in my loss at 3 weeks (16lbs) and said I should be under 200 by the time I go in for 6 week check in. Well tomorrow is my 6 week and I'm at 204. Im prepared for him to be dissapointed again but I am thrilled with 21lbs gone in 6 weeks. I've not been this weight in 6 years. I've not been cleared for gym yet so Im assuming that when I can exercise normally the weight will go faster. I feel like as long as I am doing what doc says and losing ... although slowly I'm happy.

    Starting process with Cigna

I have cigna and did 6 month program because that was what my surgeons group does. So I had basically double what cigna needed me to do. I did upper GI , 6 nutrition classes, psych eval and my surgeon required me to lose 5% of body weight during my 6 month but they submit starting weight when submitting to insurance. Cigna denied me 2 times and went to peer to peer. My surgeons coordinator could not get a straight answer from them and they finally gave a bogus reason... I needed a 3 month exercise log. So I went on computer and made one up for the dates they asked for. Then I was approved. It was a stressful month of back and forth with cigna. Im so glad to be on the otherside. I went to my first info seminar in Jan 2017 and got my surgery Dec 4th 2017. Last year was a long tough year. This year is going to be amazing.

    Post op shoulder pain

Try using a heating pad on shoulder. The heating pad really helped with the gas pains as well as walking a lot. Edited to say that I didnt read everyone's response before repeating everything they said haha.
