I'm doing pretty good. I had my pre admissions testing this morning. They took some blood and swabbed my nose. I asked them to get the itch that has been bugging me since allergy season started. They did what they could hahaha. Now all I have to do is show up on the 8th. Until then I guess I'll be playing on the emotional roller coaster hahaha.

Welcome home! Sounds like you are doing just fine. With time it will only get better. The headache probably means you are not drinking enough liquid. You could be a little dehydrated. Remember sip sip sip.

Back home. Still feel bloated but had a bowel movement finally which helped. (Tmi?) Stomach feels strange. It is going to be a challenge to realize when your new stomach is full because i have so much going on down there anyway it is hard to decipher what is coming from where. Im sure it will get easier when my tummy calms down a bit. Feeling ok overall but going to be slow going this first week. Slight headache and low energy at the moment. Still super glad i did it and in a few months i will likely not even remember the tougher moments of recovery.

Yes as a matter of fact, the nurse gave me a stack of about a dozen of them! She says it should take 10 minutes to drink one down.

No pain yet. They were putting pain meds in my IV every few hours. I'll let you know how I feel tomorrow after being home and the meds have worn off. Walking was a breeze. No passing gas yet either unless I did it in my sleep.

Wow you are really inspiring! Congratulations, you are knocking this out of the park! How's your pain level? Do you feel like the walking helped with the pain?

    Sleeved on Nov. 1.

Recovery room was rough and I threw up a couple times. After that I was wheeled to a room and slept for several more hours. All total I slept 12 hours post op. People kept talking to me but I was so out of it. I don't remember my husband kissing me and going home for the night.

I finally woke up at 9pm and drank some chicken broth and walked 2 miles in laps around my ward. Sipped Water. Then I konked back out.

I was up every 45 minutes going pee all night long.

Woke up the next day (today) and felt great. Walked over 4 miles throughout the day waiting for hubby to pick me up at 5p. The staff was calling me marathoner. I inspired other patients to get up and walk with me.

I had a small cup of yogurt and some tomatoes Soup and a premier chocolate shake throughout the day.

Good luck to all three other November sleevers.

    I brought:
    phone. IPad and charger
lip balm and lotion!!!!!!!!! You'll want it.
Comfy change of clothes and extra underwear.
A sports bra to go home in
a folder to put any paperwork in
hair brush, cetaphil face wash, baby wipes, deodorant, toothbrush and paste, rubber bands and head band , panty liners. I have oily skin so I washed my face a few times and wanted my hair away from my face. You also feel much more human washing up... Your face and body with wipes and then deodorant even if it is a "bus station bath."

When I thought I would be having surgery in October I went Decaf slowly and was fine. I immediately went back when I was scheduled for Nov 21st [emoji23]. Starting tomorrow I will start weaning myself off again, I do it slowly to avoid the Migraines but I always feel sluggish as my coffee has less and less caffeine in it. I have a Mr Latte maker (from Target) and I use 2 Protein Drinks per 11 oz of coffee, I carry it around all morning and sip on it. My NUT is ok with me replacing Breakfast and snack with it so I plan to continue but I doubt I’ll drink as much after surgery. Protein drinks are allowed on my pre-op diet so I plan to stick to it as long as I can. My pre-op diet starts on the 13th. So far so good [emoji1360]. how are you doing?

@rayb70 @jmbeese45 How are you doing with the liquid diet? I wish I could say I'm used to it, but I'm not! Lol. My stomach is getting rumbly, but I'm so ready for this change!

It's normal. I too am Nov 8th. I've had the whole roller-coaster of feelings. I'm on low carb diet until Sunday and then I'm on full liquids until surgery. Good luck with yours. I'm sure we'll both do fine.

When I went to my pre op class I asked about the coffee. They said I had to give up the Creamer. So I put my Protein Drink in it instead. They told me that was fine. After surgery though I'm only allowed 12 oz of coffee, which to my calculations comes up to 2 cups a day with my new tool, as long as I continue to put the Protein drink in it until I have to ween off of it. After that I'll figure out what I need to do next.
As for the pre op diet, they have me on a weight loss diet of a protein drink in the morning 4 to 6 oz of lean meat with non starchy vegetables for lunch and dinner with a snack in between meals of either cottage cheese, yogurt, protein drink, cheese sticks, or a Protein Bar. I don't start full liquids until Sunday. I've doing well with the first part so far, Next week should be the real test.
How is it going for you @confusedturtle3?

Big congrats to everyone who had 11/1 surgeries and are on the mend! Good luck to everyone on your pre-op diets, I know every surgeon is different so some of you really feel deprived and I hope it flies by.
I'm booked for 11/13! 11 days away now. Actually enjoying the regimented pre-op diet, it's keeping me organized and accountable. I'm having this weird anxiety that somehow something is going to go awry and they'll tell me "nevermind! you can't have surgery!" So many emotions.
Can't wait for more updates as the days pass and more of you have your procedures!

November 8th for me. My surgeon only requires a low carb diet that I started last Wednesday. Now that the day is getting closer, I am so incredibly nervous and overwhelmed. I know I want to do this, just so terrified of the unknown. I hope this is normal!

Less than 24 hours post op. Gas pains are no joke!! I don't think i have much surgery pain, just gas/bloating. Hoping it passes soon! Do not remember a thing from surgery so that is a good thing. I'll keep you guys posted.

I brought a blanket, pajama, slippers, robe, 2 pairs of clean socks and undies, chapstick, cell phone and charger, meds, brush, pony tail things and comfy clothes to wear home.

Had surgery, no problems, but slept for 12 hours after. Oh I had nausea and threw up two times right after surgery in the recovery room, which caused me to pee the bed so I had to get up so they could change everything.

Now I've been walking walking walking so I can go home tomorrow. I feel great with minimal pain right now but I know they put pain relieving stuff in my iv.

I have a week to go. I've barely started packing. I did put my slippers and extra pillow in because I have a furbaby who thinks my slippers are chew toys, best to keep it out of his sight. Mostly all I've been doing is making metal lists. I really should type them up on evernote so I won't forget anything. I know I'll be bringing some extra pajamas and underwear because my genetic history has a weak bladder. Of course chargers and cords, extension cord, my sleep earphones because I love classical music and soft jazz to sleep to. I'll keep working on my list. Thanks for the extra ideas.

I had no requirement at all for a pre-op diet but I did a self imposed liquid diet for 3 days and lost 7 pounds in that time.

I've just barely woke up after 12 hours of sleeping post-op. Walked some laps around the ward. Now having some broth and Water.

Omg guys!! My surgery is just two weeks away!!! I can begin to tell you how excited I am to be doing this! I am not going to lie....I'm pretty nervous but I know deep down this is the best thing for me. November 15th can not come soon enough. I guess I better get shopping for my first few weeks and start thinking about what to bring with me to the hospital. Good luck to all!!
