  1. After I had my sleeve I had a stall that lasted almost 6 weeks. It was frustrating. I readjusted my diet (wasn’t eating enough) and made sure I was getting enough sleep. The weight eventually started coming off again.
Just try and be patient. I know it’s hard. Maybe talk to your nutritionist and see if you’re getting enough Protein and calories for your post-op stage.

Thank you for your reply! Could you share your diet plan with me please?

  2. Hello all,

I need some advices.I haven't lost weight for over 4 weeks now. I had my surgery (SADI-S) on August 21st and I lost so far 20lbs. I stopped losing since September 14!

I drink more than 2l of Water everyday. I walk 2 hours every day. I really don't know what to do!

    Has anyone had this experience?

Can you share some tips? Please

  3. I regretted the surgery too during my first few months post op. I was pissed off at myself for making this decision. Had a few complications and needed a second surgery. Blah blah blah

Told my surgeon I regretted having the surgery and he told me he was going to ask me the same question in 3 months.

He was right. After the weight start falling off in bulk and surgery healed I began to feel awesome. I'd not felt that good in 30+ years. That charged me up and made me stick to the program better than I thought I could.

Now almost 4 years later I remain at my goal weight after losing 150+ pounds.

Chin up. Better days are ahead.

    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,
What kind of complications did you have? Why a second surgery was needed? I had a Gastric Sleeve surgery on August 9th. I was doing great so far, but since yesterday I have abdominal pain.
    Thanks

  4. Hi all. I'm home from the hospital and wanted to send an update. Surgery went great and I was up walking 2 laps of my floor last night. The nurse said she had never seen anyone do as well as me. She said my positive and excited attitude surely helped! My pain never got above 2 or 3 and I needed very little pain meds. I'm off them now and don't even feel the need for Tylenol. Last night 3 ice chips made me nauseated, but today I kept down about 4 oz of liquids. I do have a drain in my abdomen that will not come out until next Thursday (ick) and I have to give myself anti blood clot shots daily for 2 weeks, but they are not as scary as I thought they would be. Now I just need the gas to pass (pun intended).
All said and done, I feel great for what I've been through, and lost 12 pounds pre op. I will keep up with updates. Thank you for all the support and info. This Forum is great, and I hope to pay it forward.

    Hello,

    Hello dear,
I am sorry to hear that. Trust me I feel your pain. I had my surgery two weeks ago, August 9th. I had sooooo much pain that I yelled at the nurses at the hospital to have so pain reliever. The first three days was hell. I know what you are going through. After 3 or 4 days you'll get better. All the best !

  6. Wow I had my surgery same day and I have been eating scrambled eggs , cottage cheese, Beans, soft fruit, tuna, salmon with no problems ! I start mechanical foods Tuesday. I can almost drink normal too. Weird how everyones bodies are so different. Flip side is I have only lost 4 lbs since surgery. I get around 600 a day thinking I may be able to get them up to 800 this week .

When did you have your surgery? Sleeve or Bypass?

  7. Everything made me gassy and bloated. These were the only ones that feel good going down. You can get it on Amazon, or Cosco. I like the chocolate, just ordered the vanilla. Make sure it says grass fed

  8. Does anyone who has Cigna PPO ever had to dish out money pre surgery anything out of pocket or did you get a bill after surgery? If you dished anything out at all.

Hello my gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for August 1st and I have Cigna as well. Last Thursday I received an email from the finance department of the hospital saying that I need to pay for all of the outpatient appointments costs out-of-pocket, and the insurance funding will only be used toward the actual surgery. Sooooo, I will have to pay the total cost of $955 prior my your appointments for EKG, endoscopy, chest X-ray and primary care consult. I don't know if I will have to pay after that.
I wish you success on your upcoming surgery!
    Best Regards!

Could you please share your experiences with me please? How was it? Are you satisfied with the results? How was the stay at Jackson? No regrets? Would you recommend the Doctor? No post-op complications? I am a little bit scared and nervous. Could you tell your stories? Many thanks!
