  1. OH BOY!!  I am two days away from sleeve surgery. I am so excited!! Today is the last day of my full liquid diet. All clear liquids tomorrow with the awesome mag citrate.

Also working this evening and tomorrow evening as well. That's the not so fun part.

Prayers, well wishes, and positive vibes appreciated!

    Thanks!

That's exciting. You're going to sail through this and be needing smaller clothes in no time.

Hang in there. I will be right behind you on the 24th.

  2. Calling all evening shift workers.....I need some advice. Transitioning from dayshift to evening shift is wreaking havoc on my healthy eating. The sneaky salty, sugary junk looks really tempting as my energy lags around 9pm.  Of course, maintaining a consistent eating schedule is not easily planned in long term care. Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  3. After being out of work for almost three weeks, I am excited to get back to work in a few days. With that pressure off, I'm looking forward to getting a new routine going. I'll be working second shift so I know there'll be adjustments. Anyone else working second or third shift who can give suggestions or advice?

Three weeks off? NICE! What do you do? Are you a nurse? If so...then the nurses here could help you out! :)

      Hi,

I've been a nurse for 17 years then worked in social services in long term care for the past year. Losing that job led to a job search that has landed me back in long term care nursing. The past few weeks had me concerned about finances and I'm looking forward to getting back in the game. I love my family and our time together is something I usually enjoy. But I'm also that mom that functions better working, if that makes sense? ;)

I look forward to hearing from fellow nurses!

Hope your week is starting off well!

  4. What an emotional roller coaster these past few days have been! Lost my job Friday and have been battling to maintain some sense of a normal routine. I haven't kept up my walking routine and have been nibbling food since yesterday. Thankful for the support of my husband who is reminding me that this is the opportunity I've needed to find the job I'm passionate about. Haven't discussed this with the kids at this point and my daughter is already planning "an extra long walk" for tomorrow for the both of us.

Prayers, positive vibes, and kind thoughts/suggestions welcome as I navigate the job market at my age!

    Back on track tomorrow!!!
