    2 weeks post-op checkup

    :thumbup:today was my two weeks post-op checkup i have lost 19 pounds so far. my scars are well. i start soft foods tomorrow.i still don,t have much of a appetite.my starting weight since i started april of 08 was 324 during the six months before surgery i lost 40lbs.that was sept 08,now its january 09 the total is 59lbs. i feel so wonderful.the doctor say i can do any exercise i want so i start back on my stationary bike tomorrow.:cheatfree:.i cannot believe that i lost that much weight.wishing everyone well on your new journey in life. sil.:cheatfree:

    3 months post-op 3rd fill

    :tounge_smile:hi every one today i went for my third fill.he put in 1/2ccs.i am down two more pounds. i have the#10 band that holds 4ccs.it was no problem my doctor does the fills. before surgery i lost 40pounds after two weeks post-op i lost 19pounds.with today that makes 63 pounds overall. an the amazing thing is that i am losing more inches.because when i get on the scale it seems like its not moving but the nurse says i am doing great. that was good to hear.my appointment was at 11:40. it takes an hour bus ride from wtby to newhaven hope everyone is doing great in bandland my next appointment is may 9 so good luck everybody on our new journey in life.(sil).

    :thumbup::tt2:wow i can,t believe it will be three days before my surgery i am nervous, it,s been 10months, that,s a long time.my best friend had a stroke she live right across the street from me. shocking, i love her an praying she will be allright, she has a daughter that,s stays with her,i am going to the hospital tomorrow to see her i pray she makes a full recovery.we talk on the phone at least twice a day.i just hope she come out fighting.had to tell someone you guys are the greastest.glad i join this site.:eek::confused:

    :smile:HI i went for my fourth fill yesterday.5/18/09. i am down 2 more pounds. i will take that.so thats22 pounds lost after my surgery.plus the 40 before.as usual the doctor was great, i was in an out within 10 minutes. had to catch the bus from wtby to newhaven. it is a hour long drive an ocourse the bus driver took forever. just creeping along then someone yell its gonna be a long ride.but we all made it.its seem like i hit a plateau but it will work itself out. i am still exercising 3-4 times a day, my daughter graduates in june16th. yea,:cool::smile::thumbup::tt2::waytogo::smile2: i am so proud of her.my next fill appiontment is june 15th.so everyone good luck on your new life journey.i forgot to tell you boy am i restricted..

    hello the 4th of july is coming up people what are we gonna do, all that delicous ribs,steaks,potato salad, hamburgers,hotdogs.my goodness i,m gonna try my hardest to hold out. it is so tempting, every holiday, i have been doing good so far, my next appointment is july 15. can,t wait for my journey of a new life.i have been hook on this board since march, i know that,s not a long time i come on everyday to read different posts. some are very informative, i love to read, anyhoo, what are you all durig for the fourth of july. just wanted to be nosey, smile.:thumbup::cool::cool2:

    5 months out/5th fill

    Today i went in for my fifth fill.i had an appointment for june 15th but i postpone it due to my daughter graduation.i did not want to feel sick.because the last fill kick in the next day.an i felt nasty.anyway i went to his office at 11:00.this time he did not give me 1/2cc.he only gave me .3cc.guest he did not wanna overdo it.i still have restriction from last month but as time goes on you can fell it fade away. well not all the way.my daughter is a high school graduate.she will be going to college. i am so proud of her. thats my baby girl.hope everyone is doing great on your journey.sil:thumbup:

    :smile::tt2:SINCE MONDAY AFTER MY FOURTH FILL. CAME HOME ONLY LOST 2POUNDS. THE NEXT DAY MY FILL KICK IN GUEST I LOST 12 POUNDS I WAS IN SHOCK. TUESDAY MORNING I GOT ON THE SCALE IT READ 251 I THOUGHT IT WAS A MISTAKE THE NEXT DAY GOT ON IT AGAIN IT READ 248. HOLY MOLY. I THOUGHT I NEEDED A UNFILL SO I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR TODAY.BECAUSE MY THROAT WAS SORE. BUT IT HAS SUBSIDED. AT FIRST I COULD NOT DRINK WATER. OF ANYTHING ELSE. SO TODAY NO MORE SORE THROAT. IT WAS MY BAND ADJUSTING. HE SAID COME BACK IF ANYTHING HAPPEN. I LOVE MY BANDED. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT 12 POUNDS IN FOUR DAYS.IT WAS JUST MONDAY THAT I GOT MY FOURTH FILL.:huh2:SO IN ALL MY TOTAL WEIGHT LOST IS 75 POUNDS INCLUDING PRE-OP WEIGHT LOST.

    August-24/7th fill

    :laugh::thumbdown:today i went for my 7th fill.my appointment was at 11:40 this morning.he put in 1/2cc. i gained 2lbs.their is no excuse, but i gave one anyway. which was my birthday was on the 17th so i went out to dinner an i ate me some eggplant parmesan.an my birthday cake with icecream.i knew better but i said its my birthday.he didnot give me a fill last month because i lost 14lbs.an i told him i had little restriction. this time when he did the fill i felt the liquid inside. i hope to do better this month. the only time i lose is when i get my fills. so wish me luck people.hope everyone is doing great on your journey.:laugh::ohmy:.

    First fill

    :w00t:hi everyone today i went for my first fill. my appointment was at 11:40. got their at 11:15. had to wait for like five minutes.by the way i gained 3lbs.she ask me what i was eating i said mashed potatoes.mushy stage she said no carbs.but protien. the doctor gave me 1.5cc he said i had the small band, standard.i don,t know how many cc,s it hold. but anyway it was painless an easy about f ive seconds it was done he ask me did i fell anything i say no he says most people do some don,t but for a second i could taste it in my throat.it taste just like my iv fluid when my nurse change my iv bag during my hospital stay. after the fill he gave me water to sip it went down fine.i am to do liquids for today, tomorrow mushy, then he said regular foods.he is a great doctor.so far i haven,t had any complications what so ever. as i sit here sipping my chicken broth i think i can feel something.so my people how are you doing. wishing everyone blessings on our new journey in life.     :ohmy::thumbup::mad2::eek:I was warming up some sauted broccoli.an i took a bite an when it went down i didn,t feel anything but as soon as i took bite number two i knew this was not gonna be good it felt different an hurt more it was just stuck like in my chest an it was a painful experience.it lasted for about half an hour i could feel it in my throat trying to come back up but it would not so i had to run upstairs to the toilet because i knew i was gonna throw up.when i did it was slime. it came up twice.it was gross the painful feeling was still there about ten minutes later the broccolli came up an instant relief. i would not want to experienced that again i could just feel it right their in my throat not going nowhere an the thing about this stuck feeling when it was happening i thought about everything on this site the people was talking about you guys was going through my mind. so this is what it is what a bad feeling my chest hurt like it was tighting upi could not do anything but let it run its course.i was home alone i was scared. for the resr of the day i did liquids i remember that an yogurt. but today i am feeling great thanks for letting me vent (sil). an stop&shop has yogurt on sale 20 for $8:00.until the end of the week.(dannonight&fit) but this morning shoprite has the same yogurt 20 for $4:00. did i get rip off or what. iwent an got 40.for $16:00.this morning i could have gotten 40 for $8:00 oh well it is still not to late but i have to first eat all 40 others. just kidding i would not be that greedy they are only 80 calories they are good. i have to go now wishing everyone well on our new journey in life.:thumbup:

    Had my evaluation today

    :thumbs_up:today i went to my evaluation today oct,2 an pass with flying colors did not have to answer a whole lot of questions, only the one,s he sent in the mail. maybe 20 questions,that he had all arrange in similar order, an paid him $150.00 an was on my way, back to waterbury, i went to newhaven for the evaluation. me an my daughter.monday i have to take another part of my stress test with my pcp, so i hope everything goes okay. wish me luck, good luck to everyone on your new journey in life. sil:thumbup:

    :thumbup::thumbup::tt2:hello everyone i go for my third appointment tomorrow june,20 all we talk about is am i on the same plan, the last month i went other people had the same app. it only took about 5 minutes , i,m gonna ask her about my banded date hope she dosen,t brush me off, i,m thinking should i ask about all those pre-opt tests, an phyc app. when i went to my pcp. we taught about weight loss surgery, she fax all my records over to the doctor office i think it took one month to get started. anyway i.ve had most of my tests done early jan-feb, by my pcp do i have to do them all over again hope not, hope everything goes great tomorrow, the first time we went to yale newhaven i went by car that,s one big hospital, believe me i was so nervous, but the second time we went by bus you talking about a hour ride but it was fun me an my daughter went together it was okay ,is their anyone out there that,s getting band around oct- nov let me know, good luck to everyone on there journey .

    :ohmy::thumbup:Monday january 11th i went in for another fill. december i did not get one. but i survive the holidays,i lost 2lbs.so today is the 14th i got on the scale an it says 210lbs.so that,s 7lbs since monday.this is a picture of me now.i went from 324lbs to 218lbs.this picture.i have come a long way.thanks to the band. today i uploaded some pictures to the album.my name is (Sil)an you can see a big difference.i was very impatience with my band.you know when we always say it,s so slow. well we all go through those changes.as of today i have lost 113lbs.40lbs before surgery.an today i feel so good.we are so blessed.we all takes a lot of things for granted.i thank god everyday&night for my blessings so bandsters just hang in there.we will get to our goal. some will be a little slower than others.we have the power to do it.around this time last year i lost my best friend to a stroke.so it has been a sad journey during the hoildays i miss her so much. but i know she is up in heaven. looking down on us. (so l love you (Mollie Pergues) we will meet again one day until then god bless).to the bandsters i love you all.:cursing::thumbup::sad:.

    Today was my dcotors appointment. its been six months. he did not give me a fill today because. i lost 14lbs. between june-july.maybe i am at my sweet spot. i don,t know yet. but guess what i am down 95lbs. 5lbs away from the big 100lbs.so far their is no problems.i exercise five times a day on my stationary bike.the nurse said you are just shrinking away. what a nice compliment. so next month i go back to get check out again.i went from 324 to 233. wow. i love my band.:ohmy::thumbup:. hope everyone is doing great.

    Lost 12pounds in two weeks.

    :mad3::bored:Today is feburary 1st. i went to my primary doctor for my checkup an i lost 12lbs since january11th, which was my fill.an this one took me for a (loop)i think i was too tight. i was drain of energy, i dry heaved for a day,but i did manage to keep liquids down,an ice chips.i almost call my doctor for an unfill.but now i am doing better.maybe i am at my sweet spot.i can only eat 1/2 cup. its a different feeling when full sometime i think i overeat so now i have to measure my food.i was in bed for a week.it just took the get up an go get em out of me.so thats makes a118lbs lost i wanna hit onederland soon.hope everyone doing good on your journey.

    Hi today i had a doctor appointment but he said i did not need a fill, he told me i lost 15lbs between june-july.how happy am i.during july i took a vacation.down south(Tuskegee,Alabama).the hot south. but it has been 9 years since i seen my family i know that is a long time. but we always communicate over the telephone.boy were they shock,what a reunion we all had.i took my daughter an she do not want to go back,the temperture were in the hundreds. but somehow we survive.i did not know alabama was the second overweight state.i was shock.not to be mean but everyother person i saw had a weight problem.even my sisters.so i talk to them about the weight lost surgery.some say they don,t wanna take that route.but my niece is losing i am proud of her.for the fourth of july they cook out on the grill.an boy did we have fun food,food everywhere.but i thank my lapband i was not that hungry, i ate chicken,fish,coleslaw.watermelon.only small portions.an the thing about it i did not have a scale to weigh myself.so i did,nt even worry about my weight.that was a good thing.for two weeks.an it seems the pounds just fell off.hope everyone is doing great on your journey.but my total weight loss from 324lbs to 194lbs as of today.it is so good to hit onederland.my goal is to hit 180lbs.love you guys for all your support.:thumbup::thumbup::smile2:.

    :thumbup:March 8th, was my fill appointment.i have lost 9lbs. since january.he always skips a month. so today i did not need a fill.so i go back in two months.so i think i am at a stage where i am loving my band,i can only eat like 1 cup full an i am done.my starting out weight was 324lbs.now i am down to 206lbs.don,t want anymore fills no time soon.i always lose between 5-10lbs after each fill today i am feeling great. i am thankful for the lapband, an my doctor.:thumbup:.an my daughter who stuck by me during the whole process.never in a million years that i ever thought of having weightloss surgery.an i am also thankful to the lapband community.you guys are great support.hope everyone is having a great journey even though for some of us it is slow, like me.but never give up..

    May 6th fill

    may was my fill appointment.i could not wait to get one.because i have been stuck in twoterville for three months,i am trying to get to onederland.as of todayi have lost 3lbs.it seems so slow.i know i have to be patient.my doctor has started skipping fills to every two-three months,i have another appointment in july.i am going on vacation to the hot south.at the end of june. for the 4th of july.so i will get a fill at the end of july when i get back.the fill he gave me was enough i did not fell any restriction .untilabout a week ago.at first i thought he miss the port.but no i have been feeling it for a week now.so i am out of obese 3 catergory, they have three obese classes(1-2-3)i am down to 1.my bmi started out at (55.6)at 324lbs-now bmi=34.8 weight 203lbs. still trying to get to onederland.hope everyone is doing great on your journey.:rolleyes2::thumbup:

    HI EVERYONE WELL YESTERDAY I WENT TO MY FOURTH APP, TO THE DIETIAN ONLY TWO MORE TO GO,:smile2: ANYHOW THE NEWHAVEN BUS BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY I GOT THERE THIRTY MINUTES LATE, IT WAS NO PROBLEM BUT THE BIG SUPRISE IS THAT I,VE LOST 11LBS:lol: CAN YOU BELIEVE IT WITHIN A MONTH WOW IT SHOCK ME, I,M PROUD OF MYSELF. IT,S CRAZY WE RIDE FOR A HOLD HOUR JUST TO SPEND 10 MINUTES WITH THE DIETIAN. BUT BELIEVE ME IT,S WORTH IT.I,VE GOTTWO MORE APPOINTMENTS TO GO.MY DAUGHTER TOOK THE TRIP WITH ME.SHE,S WITH ME ALL THE WAY,SHE HAS A BIRHTDAY COMMING UP THE 29TH OF JULY SHE WILL BE 18 ANY SUGESTIONS AS TO WHAT TO GET HER AS A GIFT.THANKS SIL.
