Just want to cry
Miso soup without the solids is fantastic. Tastes delicious and the sodium makes me thirsty so it forces me to drink more water. Bone broth though is disgusting [emoji12]

Aug 25 Post Op Update
Sleeved on the 23rd. First two nights I slept sitting up on my couch. Now I sleep on my stomach/side with pillows spooning me on each side. Two incisions are definitely still tender. PJS pulled up to my armpits and tank top tucked in [emoji23]

When did you weigh yourself for the first time Post-Op?
Surgery aug 23 and I weighed myself a few days after. Down 6 lbs but I'm also retaining a ton of water. Belly is swollen with fluid, gas and poop!

Low carb wraps
You probably want to make sure they're whole grain and have nutritious value. I'm only a week out (aug 23) but when I can eat it will be whole grain pita with tuna/chicken salad.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Is that what you lost in a week? I think I've only lost about 6 lbs but I haven't pooped so in definitely retaining water. I think I'm getting in a lot of calories for this stage (~1000) but it's what my body wants.

How to push through liquid phase
I feel like I'm dying here. 1 more week of liquids then about 4 weeks of purée before solids. I'm meeting all my protein/water goals with shakes + unflavored protein in just about everything I eat. I just feel so hungry and unsatisfied. Could the fact that the gas full feeling is mostly gone but I'm thiiiiiiiis close to cheating with tuna but I want to be a good patient How the hell did you guys survive the liquid phase? I'll also add that I HATE all broth and soups that I've tried. Anyone use a canned soup they love and just strain out the solids?

Regret but not regret
Thanks! I'm basically past the regret phase. I was just so uncomfortable and full with gas, pain and bloating I didn't know how I could go on living. I'm already sick to death of the full liquids diet. I wish my doctor would approve me for purée early since I'm doing such a great job meeting my protein and liquid goals. But, according to him the most dangerous time is 7-10 or 7-14 days post op (I was on drugs at the time) Not sure if I said it here but I'd kill for some chicken/tuna salad on a low carb pita or gluten free type cracker. Any word on whether over drinking can expand the stomach and essentially undo the surgery? Is that basically urban myth except for those who binge eat?

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I am in desperate need of anything resembling real food. I get about 150 g of protein a day and probably around 100 oz of food. I know some of my hunger is in my head but I would murder newborn puppies for some tuna or scrambled eggs. I can't really find any liquid appropriate foods I enjoy. One week till puree and broth is making me homicidal

Day 2
My sneaky way of getting all the protein I get is I add a scoop of non-flavored 15 g protein to any broth or yogurt I eat. I know I'm eating about double the protein most people eat but I was on about 200 g before
-
Regret but not regret
I definitely have absolutely no issue getting my protein. Today I think I got 159 g. Same with my liquids. I also feel starving but I'm praying it's just head hunger. I know lots of people are convinced their surgeon botched the size of the sleeve. Another week to puréed foods seems like a lifetime.

Day 2
Sent before I was done...I started by b12 today. I'm also able to drink about 1000 calories and 150 g of protein. Still have what feels like contractions of gas but gotta wait till number two! I also take the rest of my pills no problem. Liquid oxycodone made me vomit.

Day 2
I was sleeved Wednesday and today was my first day with few issues about my pills or liquids. I take 4 huge gabapentin pills and 1 tums size med. I split them all in half and spend about 90 min swallowing them

Anyone smoke weed before or after surgery?
Even my pulmonologist said smoking from a pipe/joint is basically harmless. He views it 100% different than cigarettes. If you're at all concerned switch to a vape, edibles or THC tincture. Just make sure you don't use a strain that gives you munchies!

Just want to cry
I got sleeved on the 23rd and I'm only just having a mostly easy time with liquids. Yesterday I had 1200 calories almost 200 G protein. It wasn't until today I started feeling better but I still have what I'm guessing is waves of gas that make it feel like I have a lump in my chest/stomach. I'd kill for some eggs or real food but I understand my limits and the fact that it's mostly in my head.

Regret but not regret
I split my huge pills in half and take about 15 minutes for each one. I was given kind of large pills even while in the hospital. My first day home I really struggled with fluids. Today I not only reached my fluids very early afternoon but I got 146 g of protein. No poop yet [emoji24]

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
For me, more room temp milk and 1/4 juice 3/4 water go down the best. Same with broth.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I pretty much feel like I'm dying but it's Sunday and I just got sleeved Wednesday. For now, my priorities are water, protein, then other stuff. No poop yet but I'm hoping it ok happen soon! lol. Kind of running out of interesting things to eat.

Post Bariatric Barium Test
Mine must have done done it before surgery because I was there for a grand total of about 30 hours and had nothing done except have blood drawn. And they gave me tolerated liquids during my stay.

Anyone else having trouble trying to intake their liquids
I was sleeved on the 23rd and have been having an extremely difficult time. Meds, liquids, anything just goes down like a ton of bricks. Water tastes gross and so do my protein shakes that I loved before. The past two days I've slept till about 7 pm and my urine was a great color until a couple hours ago. Since then, I have 1 25 oz s'well 1/4 juice 3/4 water, half a protein shake, and a big glass of milk. The milk really helps stuff go down. 64 oz is absurd when I also need to be resting and relaxing

Regret but not regret
Hi all, This is my first time posting my own thread and at this point I feel so lousy I'm desperate. I got sleeved two days ago (8/23) and released about 26 hours ago. I'm so miserable I'm regretting the surgery but at the same time I know I won't long term. It's just anxiety, gas and pain making me uncomfortable. The pain isn't too bad but I definitely vomited up one of my liquid pain killer doses and I'm not getting down anything near the 64 ounces or 80-100 g of protein they want. Spoke to my surgeon's team several times today and they were mildly concerned but I told them I spent the day sleeping, sipped on liquids whenever I was awake (short periods of time) and my urination is light colored and frequent. I have so many pills I have to try and swallow tonight too. The first two nights I skipped almost all of them but I have 4 huge 800 mg gabapentin to take. Anyone struggle as much as me right away?

premier protein water, tropical punch - anyone tried?
I have a couple flavors sitting in my kitchen but I'm too scared to try them after the first one was so awful. I think it's mostly the texture since it's so thick but maybe a little water or ice will help.

ADHD AND SLEEVE
I've never heard of ADHD being the cause of obesity. I have it and obviously I'm overweight if I'm here but I didn't gain any weight until I started an unrelated psych med. You can start treatment, which will probably be an adderall type drug, before surgery as long as you discuss it with your surgeon and your psych will work with you through the whole process as your requirements for meds can change post-op. The stimulant treatments can help you lose weight but personally it wasn't much and my body acclimated to it very quickly. My surgery is Wednesday and I haven't discussed my ADHD meds, just my other meds, because I only take it during school or work because I build a tolerance very easily. Since you're in the beginning stages I would start ADHD meds if your life is negatively affected by the disorder. That's obviously all just my opinion and experience.

premier protein water, tropical punch - anyone tried?
Isopure protein water is probably the most disgusting thing I have tried in my entire life. Thick and gross tasting. Yuck!

Pre-Op
My surgery is on Wednesday and I don't have a pre-op liquid diet at all except the day before when I do a colonoscopy type diet but with a small breakfast so my stomach is empty for the surgery.

Vitamin and B12 patches
I get the rx for single use b12 vials and syringes but I know there's clinics or med spas that offer them cause I've totally seen groupons for them. They're super easy. I do sub q but some people do IM.
