I agree with Positive Outlook. I would scale back on the fish and other meats for a week or two, and slowly re-introduce them back one by one. I wasn't allowed to eat eggs or flaky fish until after week four. I actually had an eight stage eating plan. I never felt sick or nauseous on the plan.

I take most studies with a grain of salt. You can say that a high percentage of people that skip Breakfast are overweight, but is it really because they skip breakfast, or is there another reason? Do they really expect us to believe that if those people added a bowl of Frosted Flakes and whole milk to their diet, they would actually start to lose the weight? I doubt that.
I eat breakfast though. Not because I think it will help me to lose weight, but because my stomach yells at me if I haven't had something to eat by 10am.

If you are constantly getting some type of Protein in, and Fiber as well, you should not experience hunger. I made sure that every 2 hours or so, I was eating or drinking something. I never got hungry. Before cooking meals, I had a Protein Shake. I then would not be hungry when dinner or breakfast (on weekends) was ready.
I did a 2 week liquid diet even though I only had to do 1 week. I lost 25 pounds during this time, because I was determined to make it work. My advice would be to get your mind right. This is for you, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You've just got to look for it. We've tried and failed at every diet we've ever tried our entire lives. This tool is worth the trouble and hardships, because it tips the balance in our favor.

My brother thinks he's an honorary member of the food police around me. He will see me eating a half flatout wrap with a grilled salmon patty and tomato/spinach, and ask if I should be eating the wrap...All while he is eating his salmon patty on a 200+ calorie buttered bun with mayo, two slices of cheese, no veggies, and French fries on the side. I just have to laugh. I know he cares, but it is funny nonetheless. I just pull out myFitnessPal, and show him my food stats. That usually gets him to zip it.
For some reason, I keep having to tell him that I am not on a Keto or other low carb diet. Oh well, he is the only one that ever comments about what I eat. Everyone else just keeps their comments/questions to themselves.

Understood and no judgement. It can be very frustrating to stall out for long periods. I stalled for over a month during my active weight loss period. I bet your body is just adjusting to your new lifestyle, and will allow weight loss again soon. We are all here for you when you need us!

I applaud your honesty, and also for your seeing the counselor. The great news is that you are aware of your bad habits, and being aware is a really big step forward. In time I really believe you will work through those demons. I am over a year out and I have not kicked all of mine, but I am so much better. Be proud of the steps you have taken thus far. You will get there, and with the help of a counselor, you can kick most of your food demons out of your life! Its not easy, my hat is off to you.

    Today is January 3rd
    CW: 192.2
    GW: 190 (for this challenge)
    Long term goal: 130
I’m almost at my goal for this challenge but I am so disappointed in myself because it could be more, and considering I’m only two months out, for me, I believe it should be more... I started this challenge not exactly knowing what weight to have as a goal and I’m realizing that thru Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years- all excuses of course- I realize I truly have no willpower and that I’m overeating and more depressed than I care to face. I believe I should be losing steadily (barring potential stalls) but I keep eating, sometimes worse than before surgery (I’m eating chips and soda, something I rarely did). I don’t want to deal with my skeletons but I know I have to so today I start seeing an eating disorder psychologist to figure out why I continue to hurt myself (I am literally stuffing my pouch to painful results) If anyone ever tells you that WLS is the easy way out tell them to f**k off and die!
This is me being accountable, hopefully I won’t continue to isolate and will come forward with good and hopeful progress!

Adults who police other adults....unless they are seriously invested in the situation (spouse, child)...in my opinion are annoying, rude, and potentially bullying. Fat shaming is one of the last protected ugly prejudices. People can be unkind using "but it's for their own good" as an excuse for their unkindness.
My significant other and my bestie don't police me, but they are extremely supportive and try to be helpful.
There's a huge difference between "Should you be eating that?" and "What can I make that's on your diet so we can both enjoy it?"
There's also a huge difference between advice that's given from a place of genuine love and concern...and advice that's given out of a sense of pious superiority or nastiness.
    Semantics matter.

Kinda sounds like a broken heart and the depression that goes with it.
Maybe you should talk to the therapist about the relationship ending rather than about your diet?
Seems clear to me you've suffered a huge emotional blow that has you too sad to care. Sad like that can be a pretty big problem.
You know how to diet and lose weight. That's not the issue. You've got the skills, you've got the grit. The issue is that you got hurt....you're not over it..... and food is still your comfort habit
I think it would benefit you to do a little talking about the relationship and find a way to get some closure and resolution.
Also, work on strategies to comfort yourself when things go wrong that don't include food. I have a lot of luck with baths, old movies, good books, phoning my BFF, sex and my pets. (like hugging and walking my pets...not sex with pets...yeesh!)
Just remember....there is no setback or heartbreak on Earth that is worth destroying your health over. We all hit self destructive patches....but it's important to get back up. And if we can't....it's important to ask other people to help us to get back up. Everyone needs a little help now and again.
Try the therapist again....talk about the relationship that went south. I really think it might help.

I was vegetarian for 3 years, and always made my own Protein Shakes with Orgain Organic Protein Powder.
2 scoops of Orgain chocolate Protein powder (150 cals, 21g protein, 5g Fiber, 5g net carbs)
1Tbsp of PBFit Peanut Butter Powder (25 cals, 3g protein, 2g fiber, 2g net carbs)
    2Tbsp Hemp Seeds (114 cals, 7g protein, 2g fiber, 0g net carbs)
1Tbsp ground Flax Seeds (37 cals, 1g protein, 2g fiber, 0g net carbs)
2 cups of Unsweetened Almond Milk (60 cals, 2g protein, 0g fiber, 2g net carbs)
1 medium frozen banana (105 cals, 1g protein, 3g fiber, 24g net carbs)
1 cup frozen spinach (45 cals, 6g protein, 4g fiber, 2g net carbs)
Ice and Water to desired consistency
Macros: (536 cals, 41g protein, 18g fiber, 35g net carbs)
This makes approximately 32-40 ounces depending on amount of ice and water added, so if you broke this up to 2 shakes, 268 cals, 20.5g protein, 9g fiber, 17.5g net carbs.

B-52. ....Welcome back to the community.
My wife's friend had lap-band several years ago. She lost and kept off over 100 pounds, so I would consider that a success. She has had issues with her adjustments though, and has had spells where she couldn't swallow anything. She also had a time where she had no Fluid in her band, and gained some weight as her hunger returned. She is now looking into getting VSG, because she doesn't want to have to keep up with the maintenance any longer. She has also had to change doctors twice as her old doctors no longer service the band.
I do agree that many people bend the rules a bit too far, which can lead to a less than successful outcome. I have known people to disregard the pre-op diet, and have meals the night before surgery. I have also known someone to eat solid food as early as 2 weeks post-op. Luckily, she didn't cause a leak or some other issue, but she definitely could have.
As far as having to answer the same questions over and over......It is less than ideal, but YOUR input is greatly appreciated as you have been there and done that. I CANNOT STRESS HOW INVALUABLE THE INPUT FROM VETERANS IS TO THE COMMUNITY. I wish that people would stay, and I am happy that OutsideMatchInside, Introversion, proudgrammy, shedo82773, Julie Norton, and others have chosen to stick around.
I, for one, have answered several questions several times myself. I don't mind though, as I know that I am blessed to have experienced a little bit of success so far, and I wish that for everyone. I was a youth in crisis counselor in my former life, and I love helping people.
Congratulations on your successful journey. A complete reversal of the surgery is just something you don't hear about every day. Maybe you can start a thread on how you eat 6 years out without the assistance of your band. I would be interested to find out.
