    Bummed Out!!!!

Keep your fingers crossed. I got my approval on Friday only four days from my surgery date. I was suppost to start my prep for surgery that sunday and was wondering if I should even do it then late Friday I got the call. I cant tell you how excited I was to get my approval. I was banded 3/18 and love it. Lost 26 pounds so far. Good luck, paula
  2. I have a question for you. Have you hit a plateau? I have been struggling for weeks now with no additional weight loss. I have not gained so I am happy about that. Any suggestion are welcomed.

I keep working out but the scale hasn't moved in weeks now. Thank goodness I will be going in for a fill 5/7. Reading inspirational message such as yours keeps me going. Hugs Paula
  6. I would love to get to know the select few that were banded by Dr. Fuller. I believe there may only be around 12 or 13 of us so far. It would be great if we could share experiences and give encouragement. I was banded on 3/18/08 by Dr. Fuller. I have had a very successful experience with banding so far. I am very grateful to have a doctor that is so professional and whom was completely honest about the pros and cons of Lap Band. Dr. Fuller is a doctor I completely trust! My incessions look fabulous and healing was much faster then I first thought it would be. Would love to hear your success stories as well. Hugs, Paula

Wow -- new way of thinking

Lisa, With all that going on no wonder you were having feeling of stress eating. My goodness your one human and one women at that. Im sorry that everything hit all at once in your life and sure hope that things have slowed a bit for you so that you have time to catch up. I think that hardest thing in life for a mother is taking the time to take care of themselves but I think that is exactly what you need to do. We cannot be are best for everyone else if we dont make the time for ourselves. I know this is easier said than done, I am always having this battle with myself but I go to the gym on a regular basis and I feel so much better for it. Might be something for you to try or do something you love on a reg. basis. Good luck Paula
  11. Its me again with an update to exercise. I am now able to swim after 4 weeks and two days. My incession is well healed, a little red around where staples once were but other then that the skin went back together nicely. I am now able to do 30 minutes of Elliptical, 30 bike and 30 swim all in the same day which I do on Fridays, the other days I do 60 minutes. I hope that all of you are healing as well. Would love to hear from you. Hugs Paula

    Protein Bullets?

I have been using NEW Whey Protein drinks in the 42gram and 176 Calories from GNC. I love the flavors Grape and Fruitpunch. They are great for snack times drinking half in the morning hours and half in the afternoon really gives you a boost on protein not to mention they make you feel completely full for a long time.
  13. I was banded 3/18/08 and was very happy with the loss of 24 pounds since pre-op. The problem I am having is I have hit a plateau and have not lost anymore weight in over a week. The good part is that I haven't gained either, though I am still working out three times a week for 60+minutes and watching what I eat. I have not gone over 1000 calories since my surgery date. My regular caloric intake is around 700-800 calories a day and I just dont know what to do to get my body burning again. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you over come it? Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Hi,

I noticed we were banded on the same day so I thought I would request your freindship. I too can eat about a cup at a time and will get my first fill 5/7. I am pleased with my weight loss so far but would like a little more restriction. How are you doing?

  15. I was banded on 318 and my short term goal is to get under 200 lb. Not sure how I will reward myself as I already feel that each day is a reward. I might think of something as i get closer though. 1/1/08 - 262:cursing: 3/15/08 - 250 3/18/08 - 247 banded 4/3/08 - 233:wub:
  16. I was banded on 3/18 and felt I was ready to return to the gym on 329. I had to modify my workout as I cannot swim for a few more weeks but I do the elliptical trainer 20 min, and the bike for 35 minutes. I will be increasing my workouts as my body heals. I love the way I feel when I work out and didn't want to loss my routine after surgery. I have lost 17 pounds since surgery and I believe that workout and staying active is the reason why. Hugs Paula

    Exercise frequency

I was just banded 3/18 but I have started up my regular routine again at the gym. I have only been back three times so far and I go 3-4 days a week doing 55minutes of cardio each time. I will be increasing my workouts as I heal. I am unable to swim my normal 30 additional min right now but look forward to doing it again soon. My weight loss is fabulous and I think it has a lot to do with working out. I have lost 17 pounds since banding and continue to loss nearly a pound every other day. I love working out and how it makes me feel. I started my routine in Jan. 2008 to prepare my body for surgery and to get fit. Paula
  18. I would love to find others that are going through the same stages of lap banding that I am. I was banded on 3/18 and was released from the hospital 3/19. I weighed 250 at my pre op appt and today I weigh 239 and going down daily almost. lol. I am currently on a liquid protein diet that includes soft cream of ........ soups and would like to hear from others. How your dieting is going and weigh loss. We could all be a great support network together. Hope to hear from you.

    March 18, 2008 Banded

rkilbury, I am doing very well since being banded. I am sticking to my 550 calories daily or very close by but I do find that its hard to get enough in with such few calories each day. I have only lost 14 pounds as of today and thought I would loss a little quicker but I am good with my results. I too look forward to getting my first fill but no date set as of yet. I am scheduled to have my staples out Friday April 4th, but I may go in on Monday so that can take a look because my skin is a little irritated around staples so maybe they will take them out early. I will keep my fingers crossed. How are you doing?

    I am sick of Liquids

I had my surgery on 3/18 and was also told to stay on a liquid protein diet. It also consists of Cream of Chicken soup, Cream of Brocolli, Lentel gently blended, Split Pea soup and sugar free pudding. I sure hope that helps you. Even with eating all of the above I still find myself hungry about every two hours or so. I dont think the liquids stick in the band very long. Next week I am looking forward to adding a few new things to my diet.
