  1. Had quite an interesting day yesterday. Besides my shoes rebelling and deciding to be too big, a lot of other things are now too big. I was aware that my underwear was getting a bit big for me, but just forgot to pick up new pairs. This finally bit me.

So yesterday, my underwear fell while i was at work. And not, slide down my butt slightly, but like full on dived for the floor falling. They wanted to be free and only my thunder thighs stopped their descent. Thankfully it was end of day and i was walking to my car at the time, so all I had to do was keep my thighs close to stop them from falling into view of the bottom of my dress until i got into my car. Which was interesting since it was not only storming ( so i was wrestling with an umbrella) but i was juggling a bunch of bulky bags too. And seeing as I park not only in full view of the building, but my boss's office as well, I couldn't reach and pull them up. -_-.

Haha, yeah that happened to me too. Thankfully I was wearing pants, but it was a good sign to throw out the old and get some new.

  2. I am down 30 lbs now. Feeling lighter. I went ahead and went shopping since my pants look disgusting with how droopy they are now.   :) Quite exciting for me. The only problem is that now, all my shoes are too big.  I love heels, but now my feet are flopping out of them.  A little scared to think I will need to replace my entire collection.

I say it's a great problem to have...getting smaller. But not so financially if you want to change out everything. I, too, have noticed my shoes getting a bit looser on me, but I'm not a shoe girl either, so it's easier with a bunch of cheap sandals until I do want to buy some better shoes. Maybe you can find some nice second hand ones? I don't like second hand shoes, but it might be ok...maybe? Right?

I've heard of people having to replace their shoe collection after weight loss. When I gained weight I never replaced my shoes (yes, I was walking in miserable pain at my highest weight). Even now at the beginning of my journey, I'm already sliding into my shoes easily. We're gonna have to save some money for a shopping spree when we reach goal weight. :)

  3. This morning I dropped about 3 lbs. I have been struggling to lose this past week. But I think I have figured out my body's pattern. It absolutely refuses to lose within a week of my period.  Does anyone else do this?

Congrats! I am stalling as we speak. :)

  4. I am now 1 month and 2 days out from surgery. Down about 25 lbs. Now that i am on solid food, I find myself eating smaller portions as chicken and beef fill me up so quickly. I was bad and tested out tortilla and bread. My body did not like it. Did not like it AT ALL. But that's ok. I don't need them anyway. Considering trying out the Trim Healthy Mama or Keto diet. I see my nutritionist on the 7th so I will broach with her. Not sure which one fits me better though. I want something I can maintain for life.

Hello. I was sleeved May 26th.

    Post op stall wth

I was sleeved on the 26th and have been in a stall for about a week now. I eat about the same amount as you. I hear its possibly the 3 week stall and that this is normal as your body tries to adjust and heal.
  7. I have hit the dreaded stall. I had surgery on May 26th, so this is a little disheartening. Trying to remind myself that this is a part of the process. It's still frustrating though. (-_-) I have been bouncing been 1.5 lbs for the past week and a half. Just have to focus on getting my water and protein in and ignore the stall. Maybe I should just hide the scale?

Stay off the scale for a good week or so. My surgery was on May 8th and up until 2 weeks ago I would weigh myself everyday, multiple times a day and would get very discouraged when I would not see any changes or see it increase by a few ounces. So now I weigh myself every Sunday morning and track my progress, the loss is there and it makes me feel so much better about my progress. Best of luck to you. Stay positive

The number on the scale is just a number. It will go down, hang out at a particular place for a while, and go down again. My weight loss has been nothing but "stalls" (up to 3 weeks at a time) but I've still lost almost 80 pounds (60 since surgery). This isn't a race. Also, have you measured yourself lately? You may not see the inches coming off, but if you measure regularly (once a month or so) you'll definitely see those numbers go down!

    Ketogenic diet post sleeve?

My understanding on keto is shaky but I know Paleo. Paleo takes the approach of only eating food that was accessible prior to the onset of agriculture. So no potatoes, no bread, no rice, no corn. Also, no dairy. Only grass fed or free range meat. There isn't any focus on macros. You basically eat until full whenever you feel like eating. A good resource to look into on it is nerdfitness. Keto seems to be pretty much like paleo, but with more focus on macros. So you eat the same things, but you focus on making sure you are getting a certain amount of fat and protein in.

Not too bad. I stalled a little from my period but seem to be back to losing. Incisions are tender and super itchy. Most soft food agrees with me but chicken is no bueno. Unless I completely douse it in mayo and ricotta it feels like sandpaper going down. I made a poor decision and had a grilled wrap last night in ravenous hunger. Ate too much and too fast. That was the most painful hour. O_O.

    Soft Foods

I'm crying with you. Well it will be something to look forward to when I transition to solid food.

    Soft Foods

I am starting soft foods tomorrow. Just curious if anyone had oysters or clams on soft food? On my list it notes I can have soft chicken, deli meat, fish, eggs and beans. So I'm not sure if oysters may be too chewy for this phase?

    Dimples! Do they change?

This is dependent on genetics and the cause of your dimples. If your dimples are purely caused by fat in the face, they will go away. If it is genetic (do either of your parents have dimples? Did you have dimples as a child?), they will become more noticeable as the fat diminishes and the muscles show more (non fat dimples are caused by muscles that are too short). Because dimples usually decrease with age, I would think, if you did not have them as a child, you likely will lose them when you lose weight. When I was younger, I had very noticeable dimples that actually diminished as I gained more weight in college. Now that I have started to lose again, they are becoming more prominent again.
  14. Hello all! I'm a little concerned about my progress right now. It's not lack of progress that has me slightly worried, it's how quick the progress is. I want to make sure that something isn't actually wrong. I feel generally ok, a little woozy sometimes, but that's about it. I had my surgery May 26th. My preop was only one day, but i lost 4 lbs in that day. O_O. Ever since, I have been losing 2 to 3 lbs A DAY. I am down to 239.2 this morning. Losing 16 lbs in 5 days sounds a little crazy. I am getting in about 70-80g of protein a day with about 33 to 45 oz of liquid. I was honestly expecting to lose about 2-3 lbs a week with this surgery. Did this happen to anyone else? I am even having regular bowel movements with minimal discomfort (had one on Sunday, Monday and yesterday). I guess I should note too, that I don't walk that much. I have short spurts of energy were i walk for about 15 minutes straight, and the rest of the day is just moving around the house.

    Success with pregnancy

I had the sleeve on the 26th but having children was one of my main reasons for doing so.I have been told to wait atleast 18 months before pregnancy.

    4days post op

Holy moly @jacqueline5678 and @Belle_Mimi i was sleeved on the 26th by Dr. Hart as well. Walking really helps getting water to go down. I am pretty much only ingesting protein shakes and water since I can't hold much else. Good Luck on your journey!

So far I haven't felt depressed or angry about the surgery. I have felt a little weak and sleepy though. And I am constantly thinking about food. I get soft foods Saturday and I have made so many plans. Thank you for your words of encouragement

  19. Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself. After starting this process back in November 2016, my surgery is now here. I have my surgery tomorrow and I am excited and anxious all at once. Hoping I can connect with people near me. I am in Cumming, GA and my surgeon is Christopher Hart at Atlanta Bariatric.

    Big Day Tomorrow!

Yesterday went pretty well. I pretty severe apnea so my oxygen levels dropped low and freaked everyone out but besides that it went great. Been burping a lot. And for the most part all the gas is gone. @joann454 it does feel like I did a bunch of crunches. But I can live with this soreness. Only concern right now is that I am peeing ALOT. It started about every hour and now it's about every 2 hour.

I'm in Cumming. Surgery is tomorrow.
