  1. Hi ladies, I'm number 5 [emoji56]! I check in at 5:15 am and my surgery is at 7:15 am. I am in the bed but on my iPad in the forums. I'm anxious to say the least. It is 12:25 am but I just can't sleep. Anywho, prayers and blessings on your respective surgeries. I will check in once I am able. The new chapter in our lives awaits us.

  2. I'm scheduled for surgery on 21 August as well.
So far I've lost 20 kg since I began this journey at the beginning of June.
Up until now I'd been feeling pretty good about the whole process but today the anxiety has started to kick in.
I'm from Australia and the process here is pretty straight forward, not to many hoops to jump through with insurance or anything like that.
I've tried to be as organised as I can be prior to my surgery, I have a freezer full of Soup and I've done everything around the house I think I need to do .... I hope...
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery.

    Thanks and same to you!!!

  3. Hi everyone, I'm looking forward to having my surgery on Monday. My journey has been pretty smooth and uneventful since I started this process the end of February 2017. My insurance doesn't require supervised weight loss for non-Federal employees.

I started my pre-op diet on Friday August 4th and have really enjoyed it. I'm required to drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast and 2 Snacks, while lunch and dinner is 3 oz of lean Protein, a salad and veggies (non-starchy). I haven't been hungry or even cheated and I'm pretty proud of myself. I weighed myself after 8 days and I had released 13.6lbs.

I will say there is one problem that I have with this diet, the Constipation, Lord have mercy. I should have been warned because I am never constipated. I have added more fiberous veggies, taking Miralax and this weekend I will drink some magnesium citrate and some warm prune juice.< /p>

I still have a few things to pickup and will go get a pedicure to get ready. Last minute cleaning, laundry, paying bills will keep my mind off of the clock.

I'm sorry this was so long but just felt like sharing my experience. Looking forward to seeing the new me transform before my eyes. Best of luck to all of the August sleepers.

  4. Thank you and yes with all of the protien and the fact I have to take Iron because it is super low (before and after surgery) I do find myself getting constipated far more frequently than before the surgery. It does get frustrating so I have started a regiment of drinking a Fiber drink in the morning with a stool softener and at night taking another stool softener. I have to take a laxative from time to time but not as often as before I started this regiment.

    Thanks for answering my questions.

  5. I am 20 months out and feel awesome. Starting weight was 387 I never thought I would see 1?? Anything ever appear on my scale. I look at my pics now and sometimes shead tears on how much of life I missed out on because I didn't feel like doing much because of the weight. It takes work but you can do anything you put your mind to. Hope this inspires someone that is struggling right now it gets better you just have to learn how to use your tool correctly. Top left pic was my start and some pics in between bottom middle is my most current pic (pink pants) I would have never!

Congratulations on your success!!! Very inspiring especially since my weight is similar to yours when I go into surgery on the 21st. I do have a question for you, are you dealing with Constipation eating all that Protein? I'm on day 11 of my pre-op diet and I'm experiencing constipation and I'm a regular person normally. I apologize for asking such a private question.

  6. Congrats on a surgery date! I have my psych evaluation on Thursday and then my final nutritionist visit on July 5th. After that, it's waiting on approval from my insurance. Hopefully it won't take long and I have date in August! Keep us posted.

Thanks will do and good luck to you. My approval came pretty quickly it appears. They submitted on this past Monday and I received a call from the doctor's office Thursdays afternoon lent me know they had received a fax approval. They thought it would take longer because my insurance is not based in North Carolina but God had other plans. I know you will let us know once you receive your approval.

  7. Good morning all,

I have been on this app for a couple of months but this is my first introductory post. My name is Natalie and I live in the Greensboro, NC area. I started this journey the end February and time is really flying by. My insurance doesn't require supervised weightloss which I think is really good. I've learned so much from this app, and the following books, Weight loss Surgery for Dummies & Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success. I'm excited, nervous and anxious all at the same time.

I'm looking forward to interacting and meeting others on this site.
