Flikster got a reaction from needtorecover in Newby
Hi everyone, I am 6 days post op and feeling great. Shoulder tip pain was agony in the first 4 days, had only a twinge yesterday and none today so hopefully that's the end of that! I have been on Fluid food since the op and move to smooth tomorrow as I feel ready. I look forward to reading your posts and picking your brains as I progress through my weightloss.

    Hi there
Normally if you see a title of a post look along to the right and will will tell you how many replies a post has had and how many views its had. Your not stupid no i had the same problems when i first joined a forum years ago i couldn't figure out if a post had a reply or not.

I'm a secret bander too, I'm only 6 days post op so I haven't been questioned yet. I plan on just telling people that I'm watching my portion sizes, eliminating junk and moving more, not lying, just leaving out the band part. As for my op, I told everyone it was to fix my hernia, again not a lie, the surgeon took care of that while banding me 😊

Hi Luna, we got banded the same day! Hope you get the answers you're after. Perhaps going and seeing your surgeon would be best.
I know since the op I will have a day where I'm hungry and scared it's not working, then the next day I can eat almost nothing and struggle even with Water. From what I've read here that's normal.

    Thrilled not to be hungry!

I'm 6 days post op and I got my band purely because I am sick of being over weight. I am fit and healthy. I second guessed myself in the first 4 days because the shoulder tip pain was agony, but now that that has passed, I am so happy I did it. It feels wonderful to feel full and I feel free from my constant appetite. Good luck [emoji4]

What a wonderful mind shift for you. Congrats, it must feel awesome!
I am only 6 days post op, but you know what? I can already see I will have the same problem.
Not sure how I'll navigate it, would love some advice from the WLS veterans.

Today it's considered an extreme surgery, but I can totally see down the line it will be used like braces on crooked teeth. Out of all the bariatric surgeries out there, the vsg is so easy to do with everyday life.
I'm nine days out and can drink normally and feel better than I have in decades. My liver is shrinking, therefore allowing my body to heal itself, which in turn, gives me back my metabolism I haven't seen since my 20's. It's completely understandable to be nervous, but it's one of those things you just have to get past the surgery to reap the benefits, and remember, the uncomfortableness of the surgery is just a few days compared to a lifetime of doing things you may not have been doing due to being overweight.
What's wrong with feeling satisfied all the time, with boundless energy, and still lose 10-20 pounds a month and reclaiming who you used to be? Who wouldn't want that?
