  1. Ten months after starting my weight-loss journey, and six-months after I had the surgery, I'm finally down to wearing size L clothing (I was a 4XL at the start of the year) and feeling much healthier. I was lucky enough to have access to universal health-care and a supporting partner, but I never thought I'd see this weight again (I haven't been this light since I was about 10 years old). For much of this time, I didn't tell people that I had weight-loss surgery, and I didn't tell people how bad my health had become in the lead-up to making the decision to have a sleeve, I finally have the confidence to post the full story and pictures publicly, and this blog post will probably be the way in which most of my friends and family discover the truth about why friends regularly fail to recognize me on the street, unless I go up and say hello. I posted the full story (and pics) here: http://the5percent.club/no-shame/ Finally I have no regrets, now I just have the lifelong challenge on making sure I don't put the weight back on!
  2. The first 24 hours are miserable, the second 24 hours aren't great, and you quickly start to feel better after that. There's no magical solution, your body just needs time to heal at this point.
  3. It's pretty normal, I had the surgery 10 days ago, and I didn't sleep that well in the nights leading up to the surgery. I'm pretty sure I was still thinking about backing out even as I changed into my hospital gown. It's fine, the first 24 hours suck, the second 24 hours aren't great, and then things improve really quickly.
