  1. I'm 21 years old and I'm getting my band next week. I was wondering that, when I get pregnant, will my access port stick out A LOT? When I aunt was preggers, her belly button stuck out like an inch and it was gross! It is going to be like a baseball under shrink wrapped plastic? Lol, just another one of those pre surgery freak-outs!

    Walden Farms Product

They're all sodium. They tastes pretty good, though. I like the ranch dressing. Don't put too much on the salad, though... it tastes kind of funky if you use a lot.

    day one of liquids

You will hurt yourself if you eat a solid. The 4 weeks of various stages of liquid is pure Hell. Anyone who says otherwise is lieing. But, you'll get full, not satisfied, from the liquid. I don't crave the solid food. I do get hungry, though. When I get hungry, I have a shake or some soup or something and I'm stuffed. You really don't need solids. It's only a few weeks, anyway.

Lost 10lbs in one week on pre op

It's pretty much just water. Just wait until you're on a liquid diet for 4 weeks after surgery. That's Hell.

    I'm TOTALLY ready.

Good for you! I had my surgery last week and I'm in absolutly no pain right now and I have lost a pretty decent amount of weigt in just my first week. You go, girl. Just remember, you're changing on the outside, not the inside. You'll still be the same you... ... only skinnier.

    1-Day Post Op-need encouragement

I had to use the same thing, everyone does. You're stomach is hurting, right? How would you like to have pneumonia and be coughing all the time. It exercises the lungs and keeps fluids from settling. Perfectly standard. As for encouragement: I'm a week out and I can do everything I could do before. I can twist, bend, jump, run and laugh. The nurse told me it was a "nothing operation" and she was right... I had my gall bladder out and that was ten million times more painful. Oh, yeah, and I lost 20 pounds this week.

All you people do is complain...

I'm young and I carry my weight very well. You people are fat whiners! AND... you're stalking me... that"s weird. Fat people need to get off the internet.

Look how mean you people are. Fatness must produce irritability. Geeze. Have a donut.

When is it OK to shower?

My mom washed my hair the day after because I couldn't shower (still a little sore).... but the next day I took a shower all by myself. I was fine. 3 days after, I can take a shower just fine. I took ,y steristrips off yesterday and changed my bandages!

    post-op diet vindication!

So, your vindication is that you stopped loosing weight? I don't get it... but as long as your happy, that's all the matters. Living well is the best revenge!

    Should I do it?

I'm 21 and I'm having the surgery this week. I'm scared, but I know it's for the best. I wish it was already over with. I have to spend the night in the hospital and I'm NOT looking forward to it. Yes, I'm scared of: -Lifestyle changes -Pain post op -Complications -Needle at surgery But I'm excited about -Looking great! -Being able to walk anywhere I want for as long as I want -Going to the beach -Being a normal 21 year old and wearing a hot-ass size jeans! So, if your love for food outweighs your want to better yourself, I do not reccomend it... but if your want to look good and feel good seems better than that next burger... go for it. You won't regret it.
  17. I just have to have nothing but liquids the day before and nothing at all midnight before surgery. Is this normal? Don't I have to reduce the fat around my liver?... or does it just make it eaiser for the surgeon and mine dosen't need the aid (which is the impression I got from the doc's office)?
  18. Do you throw it up right away or are you nauseous for a couple of hours? How does it work? I'm having surgery next week and I'm freaking out but Im so excited at the same time! I have never felt such dual emotions!

    Count down advice

Wel, the doctor just reccomends a low fat diet with a lot of protein (to help you heal afterwards). My doctor has me on no special diet (just a liquid the day before and nothing after midnight the night before). I'm having my surgery the 26th... so we'll me around the same time!
  20. Finally! All of my loop-jumping is over and I can finally get on the road to a new ME! I know my loved ones are sick of hearing about ME ME ME, but I cannot be more excited to start getting healthy -- and they are so excited for me. I am worried about the pain after surgery, though. I don't take pain well. I am also worried about the IV needle, as I am quite scared of needles (for some reason, the needle involved in the fill does not bother me). I am kind of scared/excited about the post op diet. It will be invigorating to stick to a diet (and --hey-- I HAVE TO! lol). So, what can some of the old pros tell me about the pain, the post op diet and the IV needle? (Getting Surgery on 3/26!)
  21. My surgery is next Wednesday and I know how you feel. It's a combination of scared/excitedness! Scared of the post op pain, scared of the post op diet (And if you're like me, scared of the needles!)... but let me tell you... NO ONE HAS DONE MROE RESEARCH ON THIS THAN ME! -- and I just want to let you know one thing that you REPEAT TO YOURSELF OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!: It's totally worth it.
  22. I don't have a pre-op diet --- at all. Liquid the day before, but that's nothing.
