  1. The removal (for me) was actually much less painful than the insertion...I actually did it myself.
  2. I have surgery consultation with the surgeon tomorrow...what are some things I should talk about or ask?
  3. You look beautiful! Good to know this intuitive way of living is posible!
  4. Im still preop but weighing every day works for me because it keeps me accountable! Ive never lost or maintained without consistent weighing, my weight only goes up when I don't weigh.
  5. Yeah...my last weigh in was really depressing. My doctor showed me the graph and I almost immediately lost all of the weight the surgeon wanted me to lose...and then Ive been in the neighborhood of the same 5 pounds for the past 4 months..and she told me if Im not careful the same thing wi happen after surgery, I will lose alot of weight in the honeymoon phase and then level off and be stuck. That was really scary.
  6. I haven't had any reflux or hernia problems pre-surgery. I have about 120 pounds to lose. I'm worried about losing enough weight and also dumping and gerd (I don't want either one). Also I want to lose all the weight...but really top priority is feeling the best and fewest complications...and I really dont want to go through a second surgery.
  7. I'm actually considering going the other way. The surgeon suggested sleeve but I told him I must have RNY, so he put me down for that surgery. Now Im having second thoughts and I have scheduled another consultation and I am planning on telling him I want the sleeve....I dont know which one to do!
  8. This thread is making me really nervous! Mirena was actually a godsend for me. It finally halted my period after being on my period for over a year straight....Bleeding for that long caused many trips to the ER (too much blood loss), general exhaustion, anemia, depression and weight gain...I can't go through that again!
  9. Are you sure the mirena is still in place (check for the chord)? Sometimes they slip.
  10. I am super picky and I love trutein for protein shakes. You can only get it online via netrition. My favorite is lemon meringue pie, among others. My plan for the pre op diet is to order samples from every flavor so I don't get bored.
  11. I'm hoping that kind of thing isn't a deal breaker. I had a slight gain month 4. Im down about 22 pounds overall so I'm hoping a slight fluctuation isn't disqualifying. Weight can be off for so many reasons!
  12. Hope everything goes smoothly.
  13. I too have pcos and endometriosis and have had horrible periods for years...so they advised me to take the birth control shot which made me bleed for about a year straight...fun stuff. I finally got mirena which stopped the bleeding.
  14. Nutritional counseling done, just one more weigh in!
  15. I have to do a second surgical evaluation because I thought I had decided on the bypass but then I got cold feet and want to switch to the sleeve. I figure I could do another surgery if the sleeve doesn't work out...and mal absorption issues are kind of scary for me because I already have vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
  16. Also the song from pretty little liars.
  17. I'm worried about the pre op diet too! I think I'm going to be soooo cranky :/
  18. Me too! June/July is right around the corner!
  19. Physical Therapy clearance today. Just a nutrition class and 2 more weigh ins!
  20. The "hunger" you are experiencing may be fatigue. I know I feel exhausted, cranky, crampy. Try getting some extra sleep, taking a bubble bath, and other self care.
  21. I about 270 right now. In the past I have gotten up to 280 and then back down to around 200. Also, when I was in highschool I stayed around 170-180. Through all these ups and down, I've always felt HUGE, like the biggest person in the room. Hindsight being 20-20, I think "I would love to be 170!". But, in reality, I DIDN'T love being 170.
  22. That's the date Im hoping to get. I work in education so I have some weeks off during summer. That's the day school ends so Im hoping to do it then for maximum recovery time.
  23. My physical therapy evaluation is tomorrow, then just 1 more weigh in next month...Hopefully it's happening in July!
  24. I was leaning towards sleeve this is making me think bypass is the ticket.
