Just wanted to pop in and say "hello". Karey, I'm thinking about you and all the tough decisions you face and i wish you the very best. I hope the liquid diet (you're still on that stage, right?) is going well and that you quickly feel back to your old/new self. Take care!!!

    Salsa's Summer Surgery!

Hi Karri  Glad to hear the fill went well and that you are feeling good. That continual starving feeling is awful and I'm happy to hear you don;t have to endure that any longer. My youngest son (Tim, 13) starts football soon and I have been running with him each day to encourage and help him get ready for football camp. Every time I run (OK, I need to clarify. I use that term loosely. Very loosely. I don't really run. I jog. Barely) I think of you and I wish like hell that I liked it as much as you do. Or even that I didn't hate it quite so much. But I do. Hate it that is. And I am so, so thankful for my beloved bicycle and the fact that this running is a short term thing I hope you continue to heal well and that you feel wonderful!
  3. Frangi..... you go girl!!!!! You are just amazing and I am thrilled to hear that you are going to follow your heart and head and go for round 2 so soon. I agree, there is a lot that needs to be researched and looked into and ultimately, only YOU can make the deicsion to go with the fat-padding or not. But, I truly love the idea of less foreign material in your body. As long as the grafts work you know your body won't reject your own tissue. Laying on your belly for two weeks will be tough, but you have already been through and done the impossible; tough will be a piece of cake for you. It's all about the final results and what will make YOU happy. I'm so excited for you .... only a few short weeks to wait!!!!!
  4. Welcome home Frangi!!! So glad you had such a wonderful time playing and shopping.... and I am not in the least surprised you wore your friend out  My husband keeps telling/reminding me that I am 43 and I am supposed to have some sag and bag, and that after 2 c-sections my belly is destined to look the way it does. Compared to some folks I have been VERY lucky in the amount of extra skin and sagging boobs I have, but I still am wanting to get the ladies lifted and the belly tightened. So I'm going to. I could benefit from an arm lift and a thigh lift, and when I'm done losing weight I may decide to go that route as well, but for now, just the ladies and the belly. But, how sad is this.... I don't really KNOW which look I prefer. Dr. Schulman has great results with the photos he's posted with the solar pole padding and that DOES look natural, be you 30 or 60. Yet the silicone implants look fantastic and young and perky and perfect. Ah well, I still need to lose about 30 pounds and then I'll decide. I really, truly appreciate the insight and advise you've all offered. It has made a world of difference and shown me that PS is a viable abnd reasonable option. Hey Frangi, can't wait to hear the details of Round 2!!!
  5. Thanks for the wonderful response Karey, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Glad to hear you (and your husband!) are so pleased with your preocedure. I will definitely research Dr. Schulman's technique for all the reasons listed (including the icky bra fat thing) and I'll go that route if it's possible, yet it's nice to know that if I do need an implant to get good results I don't have to worry about the fake look or feel. Hope you ladies are all doing great!!!

    Official before and after pics

Congrats on the transformation.... bet you feel great!!!
  7. P.S. For whatever it's worth I TOTALLY get where you're coming from and I don't think you are staid or boring at all.
  8. Hi ladies :smile2: Becky, I'm thinking of you in Chicago and hoping you are having an amazing, fun time!!! Frangi, I have a sensitive question for you, and if you don't want to answer no problem, I understand. You had implants with your lady-lift, right? I seem to remember that you went from a B to a C (but then again, I'm getting up there and I misremember a lot). I "think" you are happy with the way they look (well, at least the pharmacist is happy with the way they look!) but what about the way they feel? Are they firm, stiff, plasticy at all? Do the tops still feel like normal boobs to you? Or can you feel that there are implants in there. I've been very intrigued by Dr. Schulman's pole-padding technique mostly because 1) it's one less foreign body inside and 2) I really want them to look AND feel real, you know? Karey, if you are still there I'm curious about your opinion on this as well. Thanks and take care of yourselves!!!

    TT revision

No advise to offer as I've not been through this but I agree completely.... it would be tough for me to go under the knife with someone who didn't do such a great job the first time around. I'd say look for other PS's in your area (didn't you go to Standford for the 1st procedure?) as you have a plethera in a driveable range. I hope this one goes a whole lot better!!!

Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA

Karey!!!!! I am so gad they were able to catch/repair this in time. it CAN be very dangerous and long term. I'm sorry to hear you'll have to absorb the costs and I hope like heck they'll give you a break..... hospitals, let alone surgeouns, are so incredibly spendy!!!! You've got a great attitude and I'm 100% sure you will be completely successful, both in losing the last few pounds and in your long term, keeping-the-weight-off goals. Take care of yourself and take it easy.... give yourself plenty of time to heal.... the exercise and remaining weight loss can wait

    Sweety's Tummy Tuck/mastopexy

Ahhhh, best of luck to you. I'm sure the decision was the right one and that the right time and place will come soon! Good luck with your remaining weight loss.
  12. Hi Lori  Congrats to you and wishing you the very best results with your surgery(ies). Have you recieved a date?

    PS consult tomorrow!

Best of luck tomorrow karen and heck yes.... 5 pounds in two months should be a piece of cake after all you've been through!
  14. Ya'll ARE psycho, but in a very fun, understandable way  Frangi, you are going to have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! I've absolutely no doubt you will wear your friend out and that night time activities will be reduced to mojito's on the balcony and sleep. Hopefully you can find a resale or consignment place to get rid of all your baggy britches. A few gals at work (yes, I work a night shift at a hospital. Prior to this I worked night shift as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 14 years, so I've been doing the night owl thing for a bit now) have had gastric bypass so I've been passing on my outgrown clothes to them. It feels great to see them get use from them as they continue to shrink. I know I need to pass on my size 14's, but for some reason it feels strange to let go of them. Maybe because I wore a 14 for so many years. ANyWAy. Kat, glad to hear you're melting and nope, you look nothing like the WWof the W

    Salsa's Summer Surgery!

Hey Karri  Glad to hear your PS is pleased and is taking good care of you. The new binder sounds like a good plan and she's righ..... way better out than it! Thank goodness for kotex, eh? Take care and keep on taking it easy!
  16. Frangi, congratulations!!!!!! That is wonderful news... so glad the drain is out and that you celebrated by doing what you love  Here's hoping the swell hell stays away!!!!! Becky, just because I think you are so wonderful and I'd hate to see you celebrate alone, I'm tipping a Smirnoff Raspberry ice in your honor. Here's to a truly fabulous 51!!!!!!
  17. darn it. I've got to try that again because she cracked me up.:Banane20:
  18. :blushing::drool::blushing::drool::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing: if I'd only clicked "go advanced" before now. I am sooooo not as bright as I should be :myscared: Becky, if I'd only known how to do dancing bananas before now.... (and wow, some of those bananas.... yikes!) But, in honor of your birthday and a new life from 50 on.... I hope your day is truly fantastic!
  19. well, shut my mouth (that hanging chin/jaw thing is never attractive!) You are incredible! You look like a whole new you.... and 8 looks like it is the perfect size for you!!!! Love the new avatar, the new clothes...... you are stylin' fo' sho'!!!!!! Watch out Chi-town (and I really, really hope you are bringing your VISA with you so you can do some damage on shopping row) Karen, I wore an 18/20 pants and 20/24 shirt (I HATE tight clothes, always have, so wore looser tops.... not sure what size I REALLY was). I could fit in a 12 (I think....) but will wait to buy that size until it is a little looser. I'm thinking maybe a 10 when all is said and done.... but we will see. I've been too chicken to post pictures, but maybe I'll suck it up. We have a new digital camera so I've really no excuses. Frangi, may I ask how old you are? I think I've seen it somewhere, but I get confused. I agree with Becky... post that mileage milking baby doll!!!!!! Congrats on your success at the pharmacy  I went for another long ride today.... felt soooooo good!
  20. PS, Becky, if I had a clue how to do dancing bananas I'd ssend them to you in a heart beat. You so totally deserve the extra happy dance!
  21. PICTURES!!!!!! This thread is useless without pictures! (OK, that might have been a slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean) Becky, you are a rock star my friend!!!!! Size 8? Hooo RAH!!!! Last MAy a size 22 to this July a size 8..... unbelievable! You have worked so hard. I hope you have a fantastic time in Chicago.... I never thought I would but I love that city. For several years I'd go once a year for a convention and man, too much fun. Great memories. You're not by chance going for ACCI?CHA are you? Hope you have a BLAST on the miracle mile :cool2: As far as Brian and PS.... he already loves the results and I should lose another 40 or so pounds. I don't think it's the $$ (though I know he wouldn't mind using that on a killer vacation instead of PS) or even being sweet (though is is). I think mostly it's because he worries and he doesn't want me going through more surgery. He lost his mom during surgery when he was 18 and though he doesn;t verbalize it, I know that has stuck with him through the years. He stressed majorly about my c-sections, my carpal tunnel surgery and the band placement. I honestly think he just doesn't like the surgical risks, regardless of the fact that I do really well both during surgery and post op. Frangi, how much longer will you be in the VI? My husband used to be a hard core cyclist, but I've softened him up a bit over the years. I can picture exactly what you are talking about though with those tough rider dudes.... they can move!!! When you can get your bike back I've no doubt you will enjoy it.... I am completely in love with my new beach cruiser. It is sooooo comfortable! Hope you are all have a fantastic day!!!
  22. I'd check out Nurse AMy's thread as well. Her results are beyond fabulous and her surgeon was very reasonably priced. Best of luck with your hunt!
  23. From what I've read on here it seems like NOW would be a perfect time for a consult. I'm on the opposite coast but if I was anywhere in the NYC area I'd definitely schedule a visit with Dr. Schulman. His photos show wonderful results and he has been a God send of information. Best of luck with your journey and yes, I believe both of those procedures can be done at the same time, in most instances.

    Salsa's Summer Surgery!

Hi Karri. Glad you figured out what was (most likely) causing the syncope. I KNOW how hard it is to stay down, because I am the same way. I don't even watch TV any more, mainly because I can't stand to do one thing at a time (Ok, and because commercials make me nuts). BUT, you HAVE to stay down and take it easy in order to heal. Rent (borrow) movies, organize paper (if you scrapbook), work on knitting or crocheting projects, watch entire seasons of tv shows on discs, something, ANYTHING so you can get the down time you need. Of course, reading is always good too, but I find if I read too many hours in a row my lower back and neck get sore. Please, please cut yourself from slack and let your body take the time it needs to heal. Best wishes for good results at the docs tomorrow.
